Waxing Station by Glow Med Spa

Disappointing. I’ve visited waxing locations all over the country and this is by far the poorest effort I’ve ever experienced while getting waxed. I’ll leave her name out of it but eyebrows and Brazilian took all of 10 – 15 minutes. She completely rushed through it and hardly carried on any conversation. If you’re wanting someone to spend some time shaping and doing a quality job on eyebrows, I do not recommend this place. If you’re only getting a Brazilian then it’ll do. Frustrating to have to pay for such a poor job.

Love this place! Bright environment, nice staff, clean and professional. I’ve been using all three locations for over a year now but the carytown location is my favorite. Tough to get an appointment so need to call several days in advance!

Great experience here, clean, bright and vibrant atmosphere. Experience was overall pleasant and my esthetician really knew her stuff! Would definitely recommend to newcomers who are looking for a positive first waxing experience or just in general! I like that they have hard and soft wax as options for your appointment.

Carytown is where I go for my Brazilian waxing and Denise is the BEST! I moved back to this area some months ago and was used to having my waxing done in Alexandria, VA. Was so afraid having to find a new spot, but GMS had so many great reviews so I decided to give them a try. Have been seeing Denise from Day 1 & she is the best for me. She makes the experience easy & comfortable. She’s very friendly and makes sure your waxing is very thorough with less discomfort. I’m so happy to have found this spa… thanks for being so professional GMS! See you again in 5 weeks Denise!

Went in today for the fist time and Taylor did a great job with my brows. I don’t know anything about eyebrow matienence and she was helpful and suggested a lot of great things. I’ve heard awesome reviews about their bikini waxes, and I’m sure I’ll return for that as well.
I usually get my eyebrows waxed at cheap nail salons and have red eyebrows for up to 3 days. This wax is totally different and was red-​free just a few hours later. So thankful for that.

Went in to get a brazilian wax from Nakisha and it was AMAZING! I’ve never gotten waxed in my bikini area before and she did an amazing job. She was so patient with me being nervous and it was about as painless as any wax will be. I don’t think I’ll keep up with it in the winter months, but as soon as spring/​summer come, I’ll be going to Nakisha every 6 weeks! Thanks, Glow Med. You rock :)

Believe me when I say this was the BEST waxing experience that I’ve ever had. I haven’t even gotten home yet, but I had to whip out my phone and tell you all about this colorful, amazing time I had with Na’Kisha. In fact, from here on out I’m never going to anyone else but her.
First of all, the space is incredible! It’s bright and candylicious! I mean seriously, this is Heaven… Or Hell (depending on how you look at it) for those with a sweet tooth. I was able to resist and I walked right by the candy bar. I’m still thinking about it.
Na’Kisha made me feel right at home. She was super professional, inviting, and conversational. It’s not necessarily the most comfortable situation, getting waxed, however it is a necessary evil. Now, my pain threshold is not very large. I admit I’m a bit of a sissy. Sometimes, the breathing techniques just don’t do it for me. I was expecting the absolute worst… because that’s the kind of pain that I had felt when getting waxed before. Boy, was I surprised when first of all, I was done in UNDER 30 minutes. Second of all, did I mention how quick it was? Third of all, it was relatively painless. Ok come on, by «painless» I don’t mean that there was literally no pain. Anyone who tells you that getting your lady bits waxed doesn’t hurt a bit is a liar. But, the pain I did feel was absolutely nothing compared to what I had previously felt every other time that I’ve gotten waxed at other places. I don’t know if it is the wax they use or the technique, but these girls got it going on!
I’ve booked my next appointment and I’m actually looking forward to it!

Starting going to Glow Med Spa in the fall for my brazilians. Waxes are never fun but I have heard good things about Glow Med and their Unilocal reviews were awesome as well! So I will co-​sign and give them 5 stars :) Taylor is awesome there and makes the process easy as she keeps up the convo throughout. She also gives great reccomendations on how to maintain your waxed areas until the next appt. Front desk girl is also nice too. Didn’t get her name.

The best, most comfortable experience! I was so worried because I usually visit the glow med spa north and west end locations but was a but nervous giving a new person a chance … I should have known it was going to be top notch due to my love bug and my normal brazilian wax queen shiaaaa! But anyway walked in and boom it hit me… This is soooo cute and fun. The lobby is shared with two other great ladies sitting at a cute desk that add to the theme!
All white with colored lights and candy that will instantly make u feel like a kid again. Along with the sugary treats to brighten your day they had lemon infused water and starwberry infused water… Great thirst quencher after my stroll down the hot sidewalk… Not their fault but Def to see fresh fruit infused water and candy to freshen anyone’s palette prior to entering a room some people are so scared of. Walk I. The room nice and clean with music flowing through the great sound system… I believe it was candy themed songs playing or like oldies who knows but I was humming along to old hits as I had a great conversation with my new love Nikesha! She is so fun and bubbly with great customer service while still making u feel comfortable. I appreciated her sincere tone, eye contact, knowledge of products. I downed another place while on the table and instead of her adding in with her thoughts she stayed friendly and thanked me again for choosing to come see her! She did an excellent job I get my normal brazilian and she did all the extras including areas some other places forget, there was no leftover wax and everything was just as clean as if Shia had done it. A++ job I will be back!

When you walk in it’s so colorful and bubbly, I loved it. I had an appointment with Cody who was amazing. She was super friendly and for first time waxers, she’d definitely make you feel comfortable enough. The service was great, as they are at every location. I just really liked the vibe I got from the waxing station. I recommend glow med spa to anyone who’s not just looking for a wax, but quality service. The customer service is always great and each lady I’ve been to over the past two years, have ALWAYS been super friendly and hold a conversation with you like you’ve known each other for years.

I’ve been a longtime client of Glow Med Spa’s Northside location. I decided to try the Waxing Station as I was meeting friends in Carytown that afternoon.
I love what Shia and her staff have done to make the Waxing Station a really cute, vibrant spot for waxing. I agree with the other reviewers that this is a welcomed addition to Carytown!
My wax was done by Shia and as usual she gave me a quick and nearly painless wax. Shia, like all her staff, is so friendly and easy to talk too.
