Food was good. Server had an attitude. Kind of ruined what could have been a pleasant experience.

Food and atmosphere a great! The only critique would be the occassional slow service, although, everyone is friendly and the food top notch.

We obviously went on an off night, or people are just super kind with the reviews. I ordered shrimp skewers(I should’ve known better than to order shrimp in the desert but that’s neither here nor there) and it was very clearly from a bag of frozen shrimp one might get at Albertson’s. My husband had tri-tip and veggies. The tri-tip was rubbery and the veggies were over-boiled. Pretty raunchy. The one saving grace here was the fact that the sauteed mushrooms were pretty great. Other than that, it’s basically Golden Corral with servers.

I was excited to try out Ale’s. I’d seen ads for it for a while and it seemed like it was a fairly upscale place. Boy, was I wrong. The server was very sweet, but she was pretty bad at her job. She forgot to put our order in and about 45 minutes later came by with an obviously fake explanation.(I served long enough to be able to tell). Our food arrived more than an hour after we ordered. Our server never checked back on us. Later, I watched another server take over her other tables; those customers looked utterly confused. The server came by about 20 mins later to tell them about the hand-off. As for the food — my roommate ordered salmon. It was overcooked, but at least it was a generous portion. HIs rice pilaf was also overcooked to the point that it was mushy. I’d been craving fish and chips for a while so I ordered a seafood platter. I expected frozen fish. I didn’t expect it to be as horrible as it was — bland and barely warm. My vegetable side was the same. The shrimp were okay, though I wish there had been more. As for the calamari… I’d never seen calamari in sticks. I think it was the fish stick version of this normally delightful food. It was barely edible. At this point I was out of time to have dinner as I had other plans for the evening, so I ate my meal, disappointed to have spent so much money on something that I felt was maybe worth half the price. As for the restaurant itself, the interior feels old and tired; it feels like it hasn’t been updated since the early 90s. It’s simply dingy. The booths were all saggy and rumpled. The one I was seated at was broken. When I got up to use the restroom(also dingy) the seat flipped up behind me and I nearly fell on my backside. I informed the staff as I worried it would end up seriously injuring someone. I really don’t feel like the prices at Ale’s are justified by the minimal service, the dingy environment or the less than mediocre food, and I won’t be returning.

Very friendly and helpful staff. We arrived late afternoon and were offered anything on the lunch or dinner menu. My burger was excellent and my wife had a small steak from the senior menu that was just right. The clam chowder was very rich. Highly recommend the Mojave Red on tap.

We come here on Fridays for their Clam Chowder! It’s delicious. They also have Prime Rib specials for $ 25. It’s a good size portion, we got the mashed potatoes and fresh cut steamed vegetables. The only thing we thought needed improvement was their seats in the booths. They are uncomfortable. Otherwise a great experience

Surprise! It was really good. Generally, small town steak places leave a lot to be desired so we walked in with no expectations. We were pleasantly surprise by the quality and quantity. And the prices were good too.

My wife and I each had the filet mignon, mine medium rare and hers medium, and they were both outstanding. The sides(green beans and sauteed mushrooms) were also excellent. Service was very friendly and fast. One oddity was the full bar. I started to order a martini, and the young woman who seated us said, «I better get a waitress». When the waitress arrived, she asked me what was in a martini. I asked if they have a bartender, and she said«Not tonight». I just ordered gin on the rocks. There were a lot of families in the restaurant, and some had noisy kids that roamed freely. We were very pleased with our meal, but next time we would ask to be seated in a different part of the restaurant.

I have been to Ale’s Steakhouse a couple of times. Each time the experience is «A-OK.» The service is usually kind of slow and water doesn’t always get refilled as often as I would like. The menu has a wide range of options that range from sandwiches to burgers to ribs. I’ve had burgers and sandwiches here. The word«steakhouse» makes this restaurant seem nicer and fancier than it is. The food tastes pretty good and has good quality: price ratio. It is likely that I’d visit again, but this isn’t a place I would rave about.

First time here with a group of friends celebrating an anniversary. They were able to accommodate us as a few trickled. Made reservations at 6pm and were seated right away. The house filled up around the same time. We were going to cancel when we found out they were not offering any promotions on a Tuesday night. Word of mouth talked about their AYCE tacos on Tuesday prior weeks but sadly they did not offer that or anything this evening. Service: The first half hour was a bit confusing. We went through 3 different servers and ended up with a younger gentleman who didn’t introduce himself. The first gentleman server didn’t bother looking at us when a few asked for waters and went away when I wanted a coffee. When I received it, it was old and lukewarm, but it was refreshed and better on the 2nd serving. Service was average; the main server did check on your food after a few minutes of consumption. They also did prebus your table; mostly by other servers if not the support. I feel the main server was too busy with other tables so he didn’t meet the attentiveness we needed; fortunately, we were low maintenance. Drinks were delivered rather quickly and food came in in good time within 15 – 20 minutes which is great especially for a party of 8. A few of the female servers did come by and refilled water. I asked my server for a refill coffee but ended up asking another server since he never came back. I understood since the place was a bit busy. I was glad the main server gave us separate checks as requested, no issues overall. Prices: Expect to pay $ 10 – 24 for lunch and dinner items from burgers/sandwiches to sizzling steaks and entrees. $ 8 – 10 for appetizers that you feel should have more quantity. Food: Jumbo Buffalo Wings I expected bigger, but was disappointed since they were dry and the sauce was barely on the plate or on the wings themselves. It came with a greenish ranch looking sauce which I couldn’t tell had any flavor. It wasn’t worth getting. Bacon-Wrapped Jalapenos These were pretty tasty with a decent kick in spice. Bacon has an acceptable crunch to it, but not crisp. If you’re sensitive to spice, don’t get it. I don’t think the price was worth it for a quantity of 3 though. If they were 4 – 5 I would definitely get again. The sauce it came with was the same greenish-ranch looking sauce as the wings. We had to split each into thirds for everyone. Memphis BBQ Burger This was actually juicy, cooked medium-rare the way I wanted it with swiss and bbq(half pound of deliciousness!). Definitely mouthwatering and bursting with flavor. It came with shoestring fries which tasted almost fully cooked, but acceptable. I didn’t know they offered steak fries when my friend had that on his plate. I would opt for the steak fries next time and ensure the fries were well-done. Environment: Busy environment and full house. Not too noisy surprisingly. A lot of families and bigger parties tend to frequent dine. The restroom was pretty clean so I’m a happy camper. Casual attire. Bottom Line: Do make sure you make reservations. If I ever come back, I should try the steak since they’re known for that; however they’re more pricier in the $ 22+ range. Majority of the consensus was it was a bit pricey for the food portion. I wouldn’t mind coming back if it’s a special group occasion, but something feels lackluster. If the service or food quality overall was a notch better, I would definitely be a regular.

A little weak as far as steakhouses go. It is certainly not a bad place, but I do think it is overpriced for what you get. Service is hit or miss whenever we go, and the booth seats are a little uncomfortable. They often rock back and forth whenever the person behind you moves around. My biggest gripe, however, has to do with the small portions. No matter what I order here I am never quite full(and I don’t have a particularly huge appetite). Also, it would be nice if they served some good quality bread and butter as a complimentary snack before the meal like they do at most steakhouses. Overall, it’s an OK restaurant. Put some higher quality booths in, serve some bread and butter before the meal, and up the portion sizes a bit and you would have a good steakhouse. Until they fix these things, I will probably just head to Palmdale.

I came here for a late lunch with family before heading back to LA, and it was pretty deserted at 2:45PM on a Saturday — not terribly surprising I suppose, but the staffing situation really should be more than one(!) waiter manning the entrance and serving all the tables. It ended up taking us several minutes to get seated, and then another reasonable wait before our order got in. Once that was in, the food came relatively quickly, but I felt a bit bad for the one guy who was clearly overworked, even with only a handful of tables to serve. Outside of that, the food was pretty standard, although you do get plenty of food(which seems to be the norm at most restaurants I’ve gone to here in Ridgecrest). I ended up getting the bacon burger without cheese, served with a side of potato salad. The burger was pretty decent — above-average quality of meat, but nothing spectacular — but the presentation made no sense — it’s the first time I’ve seen all the veggies put under the patty, which made it difficult to get a good bite without the burger slipping around. The potato salad was quite a bit more, from a food quantity standpoint, then I had anticipated. Pretty much standard-deli quality, IMO, with a tad too much mayo for my liking. I had a couple of my grandmother’s onion rings, and those were solid — fried enough to get a good, crispy crust, but with the onion inside retaining some softness and not being either overdone or undercooked. Ale’s is a solid spot with a decent décor(although the lighting could have been a bit brighter) and a decent menu. I didn’t have any drinks, but the beer selection looked alright — several craft selections along with your big-label drafts. I’d probably swing by for a casual meal again if I were to go out and eat next time I was in town.

Came just for desert and were so happy! Service is great. Triple chocolate cake was really intense. The lemon blueberry has the best flavors and frosting, but the cake part was the teensiest bit too dry… with a little more moistness I would have been in heaven. Wish we had come here to try dinner too. They are closed on sundays fyi. Enjoy!

Wirklich empfehlenswert. Service schnell und kompetent. Preise moderat.

There only a few really great places to get a awesome lunch here and ale’s is one of them, The food has never disappointed me every thing on the menu is available even when it’s lunch time(just ask first) the service is great(most of the time it’s just one server(angel) but he’s polite, quick and very professional the chef gets your food out quick hot and fresh the wait depends on how many customers are there 10 – 15 the he wait time mostly I often eat here when I’m wanting a good sit down lunch prices are average $ 9.00 — 15.00 There’s plenty of seating and always nice and cool

Must update with a shining 5 star rating, because Ale buys the most tender delicious beef, making every dish from the simple burger to a grilled ribeye the tastiest in town. Ale’s has become a Happy Hour staple. The apps(try the onion rings) are beer battered in house — no frozen bagged crap here(*coughs* Schooners *coughs*). Chatted with Ale about looking into bringing in some AV local brews like Kinetic or Bravery(Double IPAs and Belgian Ales would kick @ss)!! Great owners and talented cooks who care about serving fresh, well prepared dishes. I freaking love this place and hope to see more of you give it a try. Order anything with beef or shrimp and I promise you will be glad you did.
