If I could give no stars I would. I had just recently left Home Depot in Riverdale and I had a horrible experience. My father, Vietnam vet, was denied his 10% military discount. My father is renovating his home and had to purchase a few item. At the time he did not have his military card with him and the cashier said no problem bring the receipt in tommrow and we will adjust it. Later on that day, my father and I went to customer service representative Ursula and she said no way we will give this discount. I think your father has holiday only card. As a 15 year military customer, today they tell him he is only allowed holiday discounts. Did my father suffer in Vietnam only on a holiday? He has been using the same card for year with purchases in the thousands. The discount would have only been around 100.00 dollars. A trivial amount to Home Depot. My father and I left in disgust. The manager Cristina did not do anything to solve the problem. She just stated that’s store policy even though he has been using this card for years. I ADVISEALLVETERANSTONOTSHOPTHERE. Customer service is horrible. I have been to this location on numerous occasions and every employee I have interacted with was beyond rude. Sorry to inconvenience your day by asking you a question. Terrible reflection on the management who is put in place to hire these people. Needless to say, I will not be back to this location and I am sure they could care less.

It really is as bad as the others say! My husband and I came to purchase some plants for our home and not 1 person in the whole garden center knew anything about plants. There were employees everywhere and no one knew anything about gardening in the GARDENCENTER! It’s almost like they are playing a game with you. You ask a question, they say«I don’t know» and tell you to go ask the guy over there(pointing to another employee). When you get to the other employee he has no idea either and is busy doing who knows what and points to another employee across the center. EDUCATEYOUREMPLOYEES for the are a they work.

Let’s just say this location is a step up from totowa location but not much. I have a background in construction industry and mechanical industry. I’m usually fine on my own, know what I’m lookin for and grab and go. Biggest issue is customer service. They still do not know about departments they work in. They will help you locate items but asking about applications, might as well forget about it. A few have some knowledge but just brings store down. If your walking around doing nothing and there are people in isles. You should stop with can I help you?” What are you looking for”. This location is further for me to travel but stock wise may have more. Home depot is still not the favorite based on a lot of things, but people will always go. There is Lways a demand, but experience could be better.

Home Depot no longer gives a 10% discount to veterans. I would chose LOEWS as my home improvement store because they continue to give veterans the discount.

The customer service is abysmal. At around 8 pm, I went to the gardening center for some mulch. The type I needed was on a shelf which required a fork lift, so I went to the front and asked the employee there for assistance. He told me someone would be over shortly, and I returned to where the mulch was. After about fifteen minutes, I returned to the front to find that the gardening center’s doors had been shut, and the employee was no longer there. So, I was not only not helped, but the employee had closed the gardening center without warning me! Horrible customer service, I’ll never shop there again!

My uncle was at the Riverdale Home Depot on Mon.6−10−2013. He is 72 years old retired & on a fixed income. As a Korean War Veteran, he asked for the 10% Veterans discount. They said NO. I told him he should have talked to the store Manager. He said he did & she was the one who said NO. He doesn’t like the fact The Home Depot says they give Veterans a 10% discount & then they don’t deliver on their promises. I told him to write a letter to the Corporate Office. He said no, he will tell all his friends at the VFW Halls & all the Volunteers at the Fire Departments, The Elks, The Knights of Columbus; to go to the Lowes on Route 23 North in Butler instead. At 72 years of age he has many, many friends: at the different VFW Halls, various Fire Departments & at the Elks Club, as well as The Knights of Columbus. He said the only way a big co. like that will pay attention is if you hit them in the wallet. So in the next few weeks they should see their numbers drop a lot.

It isn’t as crowded as the Totowa Home Depot, and on the night my dad, sister, and I went, we couldn’t find the one thing we were looking for — a chisel to break up concrete. We ended up going to Totowa instead.

Extremely bad customer service. Called the garden dept, was connected to the dept but the employee wasnt in a good mood. I heard her try to hand up on me, complain that she was way to busy to help anyone and had a few choice words to say. I have complained to managers in the past at this location and nothing is ever done. Enough is enough. Fuck Home Depot, go to Lowes.
