I needed a specific light bulb and gasket to change out my pool light. I went to a different store, but they didn’t have what I needed. I hate Unilocal,but looked online for the next closest store and found Academy.
Steve was able to replace everything I needed; it was all in stock!
He fitted my gasket and the bulb was less expensive.
I’ll be returning for my future pool needs.

BTW, I read your review that Unilocal won’t post (one of the reasons I don’t like Unilocal), it was very helpful too!

Always knows how to fix any issues you might be having. Always has the parts I need for my pool in stock. The owner knows the price of every part without having to look it up or walk over to it. Great business!

I went here because we were in the area and needed liquid acid for the pool. I was surprised by the price. It was 17 dollars. When I go to home depot, it costs 11 dollars. The guy running the store seemed like he was very knowledgeable about pools. I guess that knowledge is the big difference between this store and HD.

I am a newbie when it comes to pools. So, I knew that I needed a thru wall filter for my above ground pool but was unable to locate one. Except on line and I couldn’t wait as we are having a party this weekend. I called numerous pool supply places and NO ONE had one.
Finally I came across Academy Pool supplies and I spoke to Steve. He had one, was very knowledgeable and took the time to explain the installation process to me.
Did I mention that they stayed open after closing (i don’t get off until 5pm) to wait for me to purchase my skimmer. Now this is what a business is… Knowledgeable, caring and willing to go the extra for their customers.
I totally recommend this place for all your pool needs.

I was looking for a mom n pop pool supply store looking for a part for thr filter that NOBODY seemed to carry.
I walked in an saw a man surrounded by pump parts n tinkering around, I knew I was in the right place.
They went out of his way to send someone to get the part and i had it in my hand within an hour.

Steve is great! When I moved into the area I got my first pool and was lost. I came here and haven’t had any reason to go anywhere else. It’s a smaller local shop, but they have everything needed to maintain your pool/​spa and you won’t get anything pushed but what you need. Very helpful and takes time to explain the why’s what’s and how’s to you if you need info.

i always check pricing and while they mark up their stuff a bit (it’s called business) their prices are almost always lower than others. and they are so helpful. always always able to resolve my pool/​spa issues /​questions.
