Used to come here every week or two for over 10 years. Then was out of state for a time and when I returned recently I saw the«Grand Opening Specials» banner. What?!? Asked about it and was told the former owners sold it, retired or moved away or something. Was quite shocked, actually, but everything looked the same inside – same menu, same handwritten signs w/specials, etc so I ordered my usual two number 2’s: one w/steamed rice and teriyaki chicken and kung pao chicken and the other w/fried rice and noodles and almond chicken and orange chicken, plus two egg rolls. This order usually makes a good four meals for me over a weekend. When I got home I scooped up about a fourth of each item on to a plate for my dinner and started w/an egg roll – which I noticed right away when I took it out of the wrapper was smaller than usual. The change did not stop there – it was lukewarm, mushy, and tasteless. Ugh. Then the first few bites of my usual fare tasted stranger still – nothing was hot, it all tasted«old» somehow, and was either tasteless or a weird tasting mush. I couldn’t believe it – nothing tasted as it should, and I’ve had these four dishes for decades at plenty of Chinese restaurants! After just a few bites, I couldn’t eat any more and ended up throwing away the entire order. I will not be returning to give it another chance. I should’ve gotten the hint when I walked in on a Friday night, 6 pm, and there was no dinner rush! Two guys sitting at a table and that was it. Every time I’ve driven by since, there’s been no one inside. Guess everyone got the word before me, but if you didn’t, heed mine – skip Ho Ho Chinese and go somewhere else. Anyone got a good recommendation for me?!?

Food was good and fresh, I came in around 8:30 and i expected the food to be old because they closed in 30 minutes but damn I was wrong lol the food was soooo good and fresh I would absolutely come back! They would have gotten a 5 stars had they not forget to put my fortune cookies in the bag. When my mom asked for some they said«didn’t we give u some?» and my mom was like«no you didn’t!» Other than that I enjoyed my meal!

Let us have a moment of silence and mourn the passing of Ho-Ho Chinese. The new owners have successfully taken this Mecca of fast food and ensured it is the same as every other strip mall hole in the wall. They have sacrificed it to the alter of mediocrity and ensured that no one will ever need to order a drink if they order the«spicy» dishes. Granted, the food was fresh and not overcooked, but that doesn’t compensate for the sheer blandness of their entrees. Beware, Chinese restaurants of Riverside — I am coming!!!

UNDERNEWMANAGEMENT! I came here with a few coworkers for lunch. They had a few more items on the menu but I honestly wasn’t blown away. Been to many other Chinese food places around town that were better. This place is just not that great to me even with new management. Sorry but when I hear Ho Ho, it reminds me more of Santa than Chinese food.

We went in at 11 o’clock for Lunch right when they open their orange chicken was very soggy, service is very poor and unprofessional. There Siracha Hot sauce is watered down. I wouldn’t go there again

I love this place so much. I grew up in the neighborhood and would come often, now that I’ve moved away I still make the drive over here when I want Chinese food because their orange chicken is simple the best.

The portions of the food is great. The staff seems that they are a bit under pressure. But the food is great. Definately a nice place to get good food. A must go to place for great noodles, tericiakie Chicken, Orange Chicken and other food. The egg foo young is great as well.

Food is not cooked properly. Meet is rigid like a rock and so for the rice and vegetables. Talked to them about this but didn’t seem to care.

Food had plenty of flavor. Portions are hefty and the server was in a hurry. I think it’s alright for inexpensive food. I would not eat here all the time. Maybe once or twice a year.

My grandma’s favorite place! Even when she’s gone, I still love it. Great service again, and food is always good. They when through a period of time when their waitress took a long break back to China, and the service was a bit under normal! It’s very Shanghai-ese style, and very inexpensive. Highly recommended if you don’t want to spend a lot, and yet want to to have a nice homemade cooking, like going home!

I find a lot of the reviews of this place comical. When you are paying 5 bucks for like over a pound of food, what do you expect? You think you gonna get gourmet Chinese food or something? Be realistic. If you want something fast, filling, tasty and cheap then try this place. Kung pao beef broccoli orange chicken are all good options. If you want more fine Chinese go to pf Chang’s.

***UPDATE: went back here for my FB who was craving close, quick, and cheap Chinese food. The woman who served me and rang me up was SONICE! Just lovely! Then my boyfriend’s cream cheese wantons had lots of cream cheese in them! He was very happy! First review: We would give them ZERO stars if we could… TERRIBLEFOODANDTERRIBLECUSTOMERSERVICE. I’ll upload a picture of their Cream Cheese Wantons from today that have NO cream cheese!!! We took them back and they ARGUED that they are all like that… Just gross! Don’t even go here.

This used to be my go-to Chinese food place because they gave you a lot of food. —-well not going back anymore. The last time, my husband and I went there, the service was horrible. I mean, HORRIBLE. I can tell you about the attitude we’ve received, but what’s the point if it’s just plain rude? My husband usually is a calm person, but he was ready to walk out. Now, we have to find a new Chinese restaurant to go to…

Wow, i was starving this morning, i wanted chinese food, i ckecked the review of this hoho reataurant and i still wanted to try it, just in case, i went, asked for a 2 item. Classic orange ckn with brkly beef, first the orng chkn did not look fresh, second the brokly had no beef, i had to get som. Else, pepper chikn and cherry pork, honestly the ppr chkn tasted like rotten and the pork hard to chew and not good, if someone knows the owner let her know we love chine food but if she dont do something about it soon, no more customers will visit, me i dont think so, i need to drive longer distance to get quality chinese food

Craving some Chinese food & this was the only place I could find in the area. If this place really catered to Asian people, it would be out of business. Thank God it isn’t! Th
