Excellent home cooked food. My boyfriend and I were looking for a good place for breakfast and we gave them a try. The food and service are great and people are very friendly.

My boyfriend and I were staying at the Harmon Cabins and ended up needing to find some place to eat dinner. After sitting down, the waitress took our orders; sloppy joes and hot roast beef sandwich; and the food was out very fast. Not only was it fast, but the food was delicious! Everything is very reasonably priced and both of us were very satisfied at the end of the meal. They had chocolate peanut butter pie as well, that was out of this world! We both highly recommend stopping here if you are in the area and need a quick bite to eat!

Fresh pies updated daily… wifi at a cost. I’ve been to Spruce Knob a few times but never stopped here, until one day I did… OMG!!! Low prices and great food!!! I wouldn’t say its the healthiest fare, but def worth it after a few days, which included the dreaded lumberjack trail, and you’re still a few hrs drive to get back to the DC area. I assume all legitimate folks that read this are in the area from DC. Our group of about 12 tried the gamut of pies, burgers, shakes, sundays, cheesy bacon fries, and whatever else we could scarf down… man it reminded me of the good old days snacking at pizza house after hash bash Go Blue!!! Definitely, definitely stop in here, you will not be disappointed… Service gets a lil iffy, or we city folk get impatient… The couple times we visited we just went to the counter to pay vs waiting for the waitress to come back around. They’re nice tho…

If you drive by this place it’s probably a good call to stop in and eat SOMETHING since you are in the middle of nowhere and you will probably be hungry before you find something else. I had a quick and yummy breakfast of scrambled eggs, bacon and toast. Hit the spot.

We love this place! We make it a point to stop by every time we come to WV to ride restored trains. The people are nice and the food is excellent! Try the homemade desserts. The lemon cake is worth the 3−½ hour drive alone!

Great Breakfast! A group of 20 of us were starving, we drove by this place and stopped. It was 20 minutes before they opened but they were nice enough to open up and let us in(COFFEE!!!). Never phased the wait staff. They fed us and still tended their regulars. We were in and out in no time. Thanks for the great food. PACE Miata Club

If you’re visiting the Seneca Rocks area for climbing, caving, biking or general«touristing». The Gateway Restaurant is a great place to stop for great food at great prices. The breakfasts are priced from $ 3.75-$ 6.75 for freshly prepared buckwheat cakes, omelettes, or two egg specials. The sides range from the standard bacon and sausage to country ham(!!) and pork tenderloin. The service is friendly and efficient. Lunches are great, too. The deluxe hamburger is a stand-out. Also, check out the home-made pies.
