I stopped by this Morgan Stanley location once in the few years I’ve been with them to make a deposit — it was the closest location and I didn’t feel like sending in my deposit. It was an interesting experience as I wasn’t use to just handing my deposit slip and checks to a receptionist and being issued a piece of paper confirming my deposit. (I’m use to chain banks)
This is not where my financial planner is out of so I don’t have experience with any money managers, but overall my experience with my transaction was fine.

Aside from the fact that he judiciously avoids calling me when the market (and my account) is down, Chris Simon is great. Personable, straight shooter, gets the job done, and (hopefully) makes me money. Also strikes the fine balance between stroking my ego and humbling me about my finances.
And yes, I live in SF, and some guy outside of Chicago manages my money. That should say something in itself.
