What a great shop! The barber was so friendly and really took the time to understand the look my fiancé is going for. He’s a «buzz it all one length» kind of guy so to get him «styled» is a challenge. I really appreciate all the care that went into getting him wedding ready!

Best haircut experience I can remember. I had heard good things and read an article in the paper a year or so back. and figured I would give them a try. Highly recommend.

Earlier today I came by for a haircut (just so you know, walk-​ins are not welcome) and it was an awkward few minutes while I waited for someone to greet me. I saw 5 star reviews online and expected amazing customer service, but I was not impressed. One of the barbers did ask if I could come back later for an appointment so that was nice after the initial awkwardness.

Outstanding.
Penny is one of the few remaining barbers in the state of Virginia who is licensed to perform straight razor shaves/​trims, and her attention to detail is absolutely impeccable. No strays, excellent technique. In addition to this, she noted my sensitive skin and treated it with fresh aloe grown right in the shop.
The haircut she provided me was also on point.
26 dollars well spent. I look and feel like a million bucks. I’ll be returning next month (and every following month) until I either move, or die ;).
Also, her boss has four legs, a tail, and is adorable beyond words: p

I found this place by searching Unilocal specifically for a «barber,» which I expected would find me an older man cheerfully clipping hair and shaving beards. I was a little worried when I went into the barber shop and was greeted by a 20 year old barber named Karis. Although I can’t comment on her shaving ability since I had already shaved beforehand, she was as proficient with the scissors as any other barber I’ve ever been to! Of course, she could also hold a friendly conversation while giving a great haircut.

Across from the downtown fire station, this is the best barber shop in town. Shelby is quick to tell you she is a barber not a beautician but she knows how to cut hair! She’s cut my hair for almost 20 years and I send all my friends with short hair to her. Downtown would not look as good if she was not there.
