Great place. I’ve bought a few guitars, amps and cymbals here but now I buy mostly vintage stuff. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Ive been seeing the same staff here for the past 12 years, which is good. At most guitar stores the staff can be kinda smug to inexperienced guitar players but I wouldn’t think these guys would be. The only complaints I have is the small parking lot but it’s never really bothered me in all these years. I would say this is the best guitar store in Roanoke and in surrounding areas. I’ve never took lessons so I can’t grade them on that.

often too busy(as empty as it is) to wait on you properly. I do love my snark! one good sale!

I’ve been to a lot of mega-chain music stores(Sam Ash, Guitar Center, etc.) and a slew of Mom & Pop types, too, in the 35+ years I’ve been playing. I’m always greeted when I come in to Kelleys, the people there know you on sight once you’ve been in a couple of times, they are helpful, all that stuff. I have nothing but good things to say about the place and the people! My only gripe is that I’m not independently wealthy so I can’t afford to buy the high-dollar guitars that I drool over each time I’m in there. There’s always at least one guitar that I just know should come home with me, but alas, things like a new roof or something like that takes precedence in the real world… The spread in their selection is quite good, from beginners to serious players, they can accomodate your needs. They do tend to balance a bit more towards the beginner’s and mid-level player’s end of the spectrum, but I can see why – it’s quite costly to hold pro-level gear in stock over time, it’s simply slower to move out the door than beginner– to mid-level gear. They also tend more towards electric players, but their acoustic selection is nothing to sniff at.

My spot in Roanoke for spot on lessons and gear. The staff is super friendly and incredibly knowledgeable about their craft.
