I love Crust Pizza and Wine Bar! My favorite pizza there is the Shroom pizza and the dressing they use on their Mixed Greens salad so amazing! I wonder if I could buy the dressing by the bottle? Recently,(I believe last spring) they built a patio out in front, it’s kinda strange because they just built it ontop of one or two parking spaces. Even though the location of the patio is a bit odd, I still love the idea of sitting outside! The weirdest part is when a car pulls up and parks in the next parking spot and you can reach your hand into their open window! LOL. Anyways, they always have great food and great service! Their sangrias are lovely as well!

I love this place. I live out of town now but whenever we come back to visit we come here. The atmosphere is great(although they never play any ambiance music, it would be a nice addition) but the food is out of sight. I prefer the white pizzas because the flavor is out of this world. The Bianca + Roni is one of my all time favorites. They had a great dinner for two special the last time I went that was a great deal. Check it out!

I like Crust, it’s kinda the place I go when I can’t decide where to go out, and for me its local. Although, I wish they were consistent, sometimes I go and have a great pizza other times the pizza looks like a 5 year old put it together(sorry, but its true) Cover the whole pizza with toppings, not 4 pepperonis… They have a great value when you order a pizza, bottle of wine, and dessert, the little mousse desserts are a good idea, peanut butter ones my fav.

With great hopes after losing My Cousin’s New York Pizza, we tried Crust on Rochester Road. It was awful. The Margherita pizza was cold, hard, and tasteless, which coincidentally enough, was also somewhat descriptive of the server’s attitude, who expressed no interest at all when I voiced my concerns. The use of whole wheat crust was no excuse, as Pizzeria Biga is a similar concept restaurant and has essentially the same menu, but executes it infinitely better. The Roni pizza with truffle oil was OK, but still mediocre, and oddly cold, just minutes out of the oven. There is no reason for a second visit. We’re off to try Fresco and Zaa, which we heard are in the area, still looking for a place which makes excellent thin crust pizza. UPDATE! Significantly better pizza can be found not far away for a lower price(although I would pay more for really good New York pizza, as a native of Brooklyn(Sheepshead Bay)). Drive onto Walton to Livernois and find Fresco! The pies are a wonderful combination of thin, crispy, and a bit chewy. The cheese and sauce are excellent, with that slight hint of saltiness of the original. I found my new regular pizza place at Fresco!

Pizza and salads are pretty good. The chicken balsamico had way too much balsamic dressing. The wait staff is kind of slow and tend to disappear when you need something. I ate with a group of 5 girls and the waitress got an attitude when we asked her for separate checks.

I stopped at this place because of the good reviews on Unilocal.I thought the pizza was very good & loved the toppings.(I’m a fan of thin crust anyway). I had a pizza that was drizzled with truffle oil and it was delicious. My only complaint would be that when I ordered a glass of wine it came in a tumbler glass, not a wine glass. I think wine belongs in a nice wine glass. So even though it is pizza and wine bar, the wine is the after thought(not a large selection either). But the pizza is delicious & service was great too.(Just a side note, the additional toppings are a little pricey too)

The look of Crust is very inviting. I can envision myself with a group of friends drinking good wine and eating good pizza, a lot of laughter and hair tossing. I think my vision is highly influenced by the TV version of «girl’s night.» So yeah, the look is trendy but laid back, engaging, and the promise of good pizza is in the air. We started out with a large mixed green salad. It was big enough for three people to share, but the egg and bacon toppings seemed sparse. Especially with the $ 10 price tag. Speaking of price tags, Crust is a little on the pricey side. Toppings are $ 2 – 3 each, which might not bother me, but they didn’t seem particularly fresh or of high quality. So about the pizza. The crust is very thin, bit it lacks that bit of fluffy chewiness that makes a perfect crust. The«roasted red» sauce was the highlight for me. It’s the homemade alternative to their other sauce, which I haven’t had, but from now on I only want the roasted red. As for the toppings, the fresh mozz and pepperoni seemed to be lacking in freshness and flavor. It was good, don’t get me wrong, but it could have been excellent. It was lunch time, so I passed on the wine. I know, like that’s a good excuse. Really, though, nothing on the list stood out to me. «Wine bar» is a bit of a stretch. Yes, they have wine, but not a whole lot of thought seems to have gone into it. It’s very typical, but reasonable enough prices if you really want a glass. I love the idea of really good pizza with really good wine(and laughter and hair tossing), and Crust almost pulls it off. Everything was good, but not exceptional. I wouldn’t go out of my way for it, but I wouldn’t be opposed to eating here again. 3 ½ stars perhaps, but not quite 4.

I am a HUGE fan of Crust Pizza. It’s the perfect place to go if you are in the mood for pizza, but don’t want to ingest a pint of grease and don’t feel like waddling out of the restaurant. As much as I love their pizza, I would stay away from sausage on your pizza, it’s just got a weird taste(but for some reason I always forget and order it anyways). Pizza is thin and crispy and you will have PLENTY of leftovers to take home! Also, they had a pretty sweet deal up on their board. $ 40 for an app, salad, pizza, bottle of wine and dessert – PLENTY to share for 2 and a pretty solid price!

This place would most likely get two more stars had it not been for the service. We went mid-afternoon, which, understandably, can be slow following the lunch-hour rush(not that I know if that exists here). (We were the only other diners in the restaurant for the 45 minutes we’re there, mind you.) So instead of coming to get our food order after seating us, two waitresses spend about 10 minutes cleaning out the coffee pots, standing on the table to wipe down other things, as my brother and I are watching them. OK fine, they were cleaning. After our food comes out, all the workers — two waitresses and however many cooks there were, all disappear toward the end of our meals. We really could’ve just walked out without paying if we wanted to. How do all the employees take a break at the same time? Without asking the customers if they need anything before they do? So there’s my service rant. The food, thankfully, was really good. But it didn’t make up for the kind of service, which really sucks because I had been wanting to come here for the longest time. The lunch combo for $ 9 was a good deal. You get your pick of 4 – 5 half-size pizzas(four slices) and a big Caesar salad. I had the Roni, which is topped with truffle oil. Yum. We also had the pancetta, which I’d highly recommend. Caramelized sweet onion might be my new favorite topping. Another weird thing I noticed were that some of the tables were being held up by … a stack of small napkins? It was as if the tables weren’t balanced so they stuck napkins so it would be. Next time, I might just order takeout.

If you like thin crust pizza I recommend this place, if not go elsewhere. Nice café atmosphere, the kitchen is open and you can see the oven they bake everything in. The place is clean and the waitresses are friendly and fairly quick. The good: I really like the roni with the truffle oil on it, all the flavors compliment each other very nicely. I can imagine that the the margherita and other similar pizzas here would be very good as well. They also have a small special menu that is separate from the regular menu you can find online. On this one, they offer a cheesy bread with roasted red sauce for dipping. It is so good! It is smoky and delicious with just an underlining hint on balsamic which surprisingly gives it that special something extra. The sangria is good, I recommend getting some while eating the pizza. I also like their shot glass desserts, they’re yummy. The bad: I have tried two other pizzas and was not a fan. The prosciutto pizza tasted and smelled weird, not sure if it was just that day but I haven’t tried it since. Also had a chicken one, I think it was the chicken artichoke or something like that. It was ok, kind of bland and the chicken weirded me out. It was probably just me since I can’t stomach anything that reminds me of processed meat. I’m sure its fine though. Overall, go there and try the various pizzas to figure out which ones you like.

One of our favorite restaurants in Rochester. We always get an appetizer with our pizza and the last time we went, we got dessert which was awesome! Who doesn’t love dessert shooters especially after a big meal? Food is delicious at a pretty good price. If you want good food why not pay for it?

We’ve wanted to try this place for quite some time and were thrilled to make it here with friends. The menu was amazing – SO many pre-designed pizzas that I wanted to try it was almost painful to have to make a decision… and I wasn’t even looking at the pasta or salads(I mean, I think they had pasta – as I said, I had blinders on for the pizza). I ended up with the Thai pizza – and it was DELICIOUS(and it was even missing an ingredient that they were out of). Hubby had the Shrimp Pesto and that was DELICIOUS as well. My son just got a kid’s cheese pizza an he ate the whole thing – so a definite winner! Our friends had two other varieties and those were yummy as well! There are a few small reasons I can’t give them five stars. 1) It seemed to take FOREVER to get the pizzas – I didn’t time it, but when your entire party comments on what’s taking so long… it’s too long. And they weren’t busy – I think there were two other tables that already had food and another table that had ordered. 2) While our waitress was really nice and bubbly and did check in on us… she didn’t check in enough as we were all waiting and WAITING for water refills. When we did ask, though, we got them immediately. And she filled my son’s sippy cup directly, which was nice. 3) It seemed a bit expensive for what it was – most of the pizzas were $ 10 for a 10″ pizza, which is considered a personal size. While the toppings were good, they seemed a bit sparse for a $ 10 pizza. But, overall, it’s definitely pizza we want to eat again and again. Just be prepared for slightly slow service.

I love a good wood-fired pizza. I also don’t always like to share. I was the third child and I’m a little bit spoiled but I’m honest. Sometimes I just want a little pizza with toppings like sun dried tomatoes and artichokes maybe some feta cheese –all to myself. And I’m happy to trade you a slice if you get something equally as tasty. Really I am. Crust is that kind of place. The pizzas here are wonderfully paired with a selection of wines. And if whether or not you leave with a box of leftover slices like I usually do, there is often room for dessert. Crust latched on to that wonderful little mini dessert trend –be sure to ask your server to bring out the tray and choose your favorite. It’s small enough to savor and enjoy without going overboard. I’ve even been a good Auntie and brought along my nieces. They love picking toppings for their pizza and feeling all grown up. I of course skip the wine on these trips and we often take in a movie at the nearby theater afterward. Crust is a great little unassuming spot in Rochester Hills.

A couple of weeks back, I was idly searching for good establishments to patron since I was about to move to the Rochester area, and I had run out of search topics on Unilocal. My birthday was coming up, so I decided to search for«birthday». .. and thanks to Michelle S.‘s review, I came across this little gem! This restaurant is at the edge of the Hampton Village Shopping Center beside a salon, facing Barclay Circle. It’s not hard to find, but you will drive by and ignore the restaurant on your way elsewhere since the sign doesn’t face the main road. My main squeeze and I hopped in Tuesday evening for dinner, and it was moderately busy. The restaurant has an outdoor seating area, which is nice, but I’m not a fan of eating outside unless there is a wonderful vista. When you enter, there are several small standing table tops for a quick lunch, I assume, and the main counter for placing orders. The dining area is off to the side. There is no hostess, so the waitress seats people – I think. Unfortunately, the sole waitress was busy with a table when we entered. We don’t enjoy standing around stupidly, so we grabbed a couple of menus off the counter, chose a two-top(they have an assortment of two-tops and four-tops) and sat down. The waitress was with us in a minute, taking our drink orders. She was knowledgeable about the menu and gave great recommendations. We ended up ordering the spinach dip(cheese, spinach, red pepper, artichoke), the pancetta pizza(bacon, onion, mozzarella) and the shroom pizza(shitake, oyster mushroom, portabella, mozzarella, provolone) and two mini desserts(death by chocolate and tiramisu). The spinach dip was pretty delicious. It’s a small dish, but it’s more than enough for two people. The dip comes with slightly toasted, thin pita bread covered with Italian spices. This dish needs to be eaten up right away though because the pita bread will get hard since it was toasted. The pancetta and shroom pizzas were both yummy, but the pancetta was superior in taste. The shroom was just too busy, and tasted that way. My favorite part of the pizzas were, you guessed it, the crust. The crust was chewy and flavorful without cutting up the roof of my mouth – very nice. We ate the pizza with their house-made ranch sauce. Usually, I abhor the practice of eating perfectly flavorful pizza with a cold and thick sauce that masks the flavor of the pizza. I shake my head when my boyfriend orders a side of ranch with his pizzas, but Mama Luna was Crust’s ranch UTTERLYDELICIOUS. After my sweetie tasted the ranch, exclaiming how good it was, I had to taste it, and I was pleasantly surprised. The ranch was the perfect balance of buttermilk and spices with a great consistency – not thick and goopy at all. I would move the ramekin closer to my plate, and then he would move it closer to his. I felt that we were crossing swords instead of crusts, battling for the last drops of ranch. Eventually, we got more ranch – three ramekins in total. You would think we would be stuffed at this point, but I really wanted to taste the mini desserts. The waitress brought over all of the pickings: death by chocolate, carrot cake, key lime, tiramisu and cookies and cream(gosh, I have a good memory for sweets: P). We decided on death by chocolate and tiramisu. We ate half and then swapped, World Cup-style. Both mini desserts were great, just enough to tantalize, not weigh you down. Though, I feel they should cost a bit less. $ 2.50 for a tiny cup was pushing it. The service was all right. The waitress was knowledgeable about the menu, kept our water glasses full(we somehow keep ourselves perpetually dehydrated and, consequently, drink a lot water) and brought our plates out in a timely manner. However, I feel that this establishment should have at least one more server or at least a busboy. The waitress took twice as long to do things simply because she had no other help. She had about five tables(both inside and on the patio) to wait on and bus. Oh yeah, I forgot, and she had to seat people(or at least offer people to choose wherever they wanted to sit). Now, the bad. I know, after all of that?! Well, it’s noisy in here – not because of the diners, but because of the open kitchen. The establishment has an open kitchen to give the illusion of a larger space while keeping it looking modern and trendy(which it accomplishes). Unfortunately, I can hear every dish that gets clanked into the washer and every other noise they happen to make. These noises give this restaurant a cafeteria feel versus an upscale pizza joint kinda feel. Overall, food gets four stars and ambiance gets three stars. I would come here again, but probably not any time soon since I just moved to the area and there are other places to discover. I decided to give four stars because as Michelle S. stated, you get coupons if you join their online mailing list. Free food is always good in my book!

I love pizza… I think it’s is possibly the best food on the planet. Crust met my expectations. I kept hearing people talk about it, and honestly it wasn’t what I expected. I thought it would be some swanky, hipster place with expensive average pizza and equally expensive wine. Not at all… I’ve been there a couple of times and will keep going back. The location is kind of strange — but people seem to find a good restaurant regardless of location. A lot of different pizza combinations, a god wine selection, friendly staff and a comfortable atomosphere… can’t go wrong!

Despite their slightly off to the side location, people seem to be able to find this place for a nice dinner. Thin pizza in the european style, I haven’t found one yet that wasn’t pretty tasty in its own way. They do have the«Roni» for the folks that just want a standard pepperoni & cheese pizza. Nice wine selection, great casual décor and friendly wait staff. It seems slightly pricey compared to a cheapo pizza joint(it is about $ 40 for two of us for dinner, an app, and wine), but keep an eye out for B1G1 free entrée coupons which come in Valpak or the community newspaper. That helps bring the bill down to on par with other casual dining choices, but with Crust’s upscale ingredients!

I went for lunch with several coworkers. The service was fast and friendly, and there was room for all 9 of us. They have a lunch special, a mini personal pizza and soup or salad. The cheese pizza was exactly what it should be. It was a perfect blend of cheese, served at the right temperature for maximum gooey-ness, and the crust was delicious and crisp.

i’ve eaten here a few times and every time it has been excellent. the only reason for 4 stars is sometimes the pizza can be a bit greasy which can make the crust a bit soggy. other than that it’s perfect! be sure to sign up for their mailing list. you will get coupons for a free app, dessert or even a free pizza every once in awhile and on your birthday. the pizzas are reasonably priced at around $ 8 – 12 per pizza and there’s always left overs to take home. i usually go for a pizza with chicken. last time i had the chicken/artichoke/asparagus pizza. their bean soup is also good. they have a great wine list and i enjoy getting the flights so i can sample a few different kinds. their desserts in shot glasses are cute and just the right size.

This place has some pretty interesting pizzas. My favorites are the Thai, Margherita and BBQ chicken. Their spicy mustard-honey that is served with the mixed green salad has a definite kick to it(a good thing, IMO). If you don’t like any of the pies on the menu, choose to make your own and select from a list of 25 toppings. They have tiny dessert shooters that are very good as well. About 3 bites and your done, perfect for those who don’t save a lot of room for dessert. I also enjoy that you can get a flight of wine there. I can never make up my mind so it’s nice to be able to have my cake and eat(drink?) it too!
