What a wonderful place! I was a total couch potato when I started going here, but the groupon for a sampler class piqued my interests. I’m now taking aerial silks and pole classes, and I can’t say enough about what a good experience I’ve had. All of the instructors are kind, helpful, and extremely knowledgeable. The classes make you work hard, but they are still fun and supportive environments. If you’re on the fence, I’d encourage you to try a sampler — all you have to lose is a few bucks and four hours of your life, and you might find a great new hobby!

Unfortunately, the instructor was not skilled enough to inform the class about how to be safe. If you asked him to explain something, he would just repeat himself and then walk away. Be careful. Not all instructors care about their students. This is one of those cases.

I couldn’t be more impressed with Aerial Arts of Rochester! We set up a private party for a group of 15 very competitive, loud, crazy to contain bunch(of adults) — and couldn’t have had more fun! We laughed our way through working on the silk ropes, silk hammocks and hoops, as well as trying to «Tarzan» our way across the room. Even though our group was divided in half, for ease of teaching, we were able to interact easily between groups — and our instructors(Will & Chris) were great! If you are looking for something«out of the norm» to try — this is it! We had a mixed group of adults — some fit, some not, some with upper body strength, some with none, all body types and sizes — we were all able to easily participate and when we didn’t think we could, the instructors helped convince us we could do it! It was such a great night! Thanks Will & Chris!

I’ve been taking aerial classes here for years, and I’m addicted. Co-owners Will and Jennifer D’Ovidio are wonderful teachers, and the facilities are top-notch. If you’ve ever been to Cirque du Soleil and thought that the aerial acts looked fun, sign-up immediately! No upper body strength required! You build it without noticing that it’s any work. They offer a sampler class that is totally affordable that allows you to try a bunch of apparatuses(aerial hoop, silks, chinese pole, trapeze) before you commit to taking a full class in one. Awesome place!

I purchased the Aerial Sampler class with a group of five girls and we had a blast learning different aerial arts. The class was for 90 minutes and we were split into two groups. Our group worked with the silk hammocks and the hoops, while the other group did the aerial silks. We swapped about halfway through. The tricks taught throughout the lesson were definitely achievable no matter your skill set, although some in the class were certainly more adept than others. Jen and Will were helpful and patient, while showing us proper technique and assisting those of us(ahem, me) who might not have had the upper body strength to make the moves look quite so effortless. A few of us purchased yoga classes and a 5 class pass to try out some of the other classes available. Barre, trampoline, pole, and other classes all sounded really interesting. They are moving to a new studio, but in the same general area. The place can be kind of hard to find, so hopefully they’ll put up some bigger signage to show the way!

I tried this business through a Unilocal Fit Event and loved it so I signed up for classes! Tonight was my first class and The instructors(owners) were very inspiring, friendly, patient and do a great job of working with a group of varying skill levels. I feel safe, yet inspired and supported to try new things. I am thinking of taking more classes. Thumbs up so far!

I am constantly impressed by this place. Jennifer and Will make you feel so welcome the moment you walk in the door, whether you have previous aerial experience or it’s your first time touching a silk. I can’t wait to go back :)

I have taken a few classes at Aerial Arts of Rochester and I always leave smiling. I did the Cirque Fit class on a Saturday morning and it was an interactive, challenging and fun workout. I definitely recommend it. I also took a few sessions of beginner pole. Jennifer is knowledgeable, professional and helpful and my friends and I laughed the whole time(which may or may not be the point, but we don’t care). The Aerial Sampler class was awesome! We flipped, flew, and hung from all kinds of apparatuses and silks. The instructors made it easy to feel successful and they were very encouraging and welcoming. I felt as if everyone had the chance to get some personal feedback and that made a huge difference for us. They also encouraged us to take pictures of our awesome new skills which added an element of fun to the whole thing. You should definitely try it with a group of your friends! We also took a belly dance class there recently, which was OK, but I have taken more effective classes in the past.

What started out as an Aerial Sampler workshop has now evolved to weekly Aerial Silk lessons(think of Cirque de Soleil — silks hanging from the ceiling) … The instructors(who are friendly, helpful, and have a great sense of humor) are amazing — to name a few things I’ve learned over the past few months: plank, double foot locks, 360 drop from 10 feet above the ground, ankle locks, hanging upside down… It’s a great activity for everyone of all ages!

Aerial and acrobatic pole are fun and unique ways to get in shape! And to supplement this work out is cirq fit. This put me in the best shape of my life and I love the student performances!

How do I even begin… let me give a snap shot: black lights, David Banner’s «Don’t Play With Me» blasting and 8 girls practicing on their«fireman». The art of pole is not nearly as easy as you think it is… but it’s about three times as fun. I know I’ll be sore tomorrow and am so ready for more! Jenn(instructor/owner) started the class off with a warm up of stretching and weights. Then we learned 5 – 6 moves and pieced them all together at the end. The environment was unintimidating, friendly and so much effing fun. Besides Blacklight Intro to Pole, they’ve also got Belly Dancing(you get hip scarves and a bindi!), Bootcamp, Pole Power, Exotic Arts(lap dancing, strip tease), Pole Ballet and tons classes more. You can drop in for $ 10 a class. Pretty awesome. There are workshops and also monthly sessions to really get yo’ pole on(e’rbody get yo pole on). Plus, the aerial arts studio is next door if you want to get yo’ silks on. What struck me the most was how effing terrific Jenn was. During class she came around to offer personal help and then after class, she hung out and talked to us, showed us moves that BLEWMYMIND(«dangerous brian» — omg to the max). HINT: This place is fairly difficult to find. You have to almost park in the CVS parking lot. Then it’s at the end of the first building. If you’re walking by the horse in a tuxedo(not making this up) you’ve walked to far. It’s at the end of the first building! I can’t wait to go baaaaaack!
