Cheeseburger with lettuce mayo hot sauce ketchup the best. Basket of fries were fried just right. Not very busy at 6pm no waiting. Desserts looked awesome but my doctor would beat me if I got something!(Lol)

Cashier extremely patient while I was fumbling through my purse looking for a coupon. Food as always, cooked perfectly, and delicious.

It could have easily been a really disgusting place if it were named Bile Grays. Thank goodness its not. It’s actually one of Rochester’s best fast-food-type places to eat, and definitely to get custard. It’s so good I might start calling it «Brill Grays.» So might little Starlight, my cat who accompanied me to this store on yesterday’s Rochester food tour. What to get: World’s best Cheeseburger, and some Abbott’s Vanilla Custard! What else: Take Starlight, she loves the custard. If the place sold hay to farmers, it would be Bale Grays. Similarly, if actor and American Psycho Christian owned it, and murdered patrons regularly during consummation in front of a mirror, then it would be, yes, Bale Grays. And if you agree to meet someone here for dinner and then don’t show, it’s definitely Bail Grays. And if you’re arrested for making up too many bad jokes in a Bill Grays review, then you’ll need Bail Grays. This is my favourite location of Bill Gray’s anywhere in the world(lol, since it’s only in WNY). It has good service, a nice parking lot, it’s set amongst some nice bushes, it’s absolutely enormous with a yellowy brown building and huge red lettering, and it’s so cool and lovely and spacious and well-designed on the inside. Honestly if this isn’t their flagship marquee store, it should be. I came here for the Abbott’s, not for the food, and it was the best-tasting Abbott’s I’ve had. The two businesses are connected, by the way — they share the space at all the Bill Gray’s locations. If you get your custard in a dish instead of a cone, which is a mistake btw since the cones are delicious, then it’s Bowl Grays. Bill Grays is the only Rochester institution that has successfully«cracked» Buffalo, although it only has a few locations out in the 716, and one of them — in the mall — recently closed down along with the whole food court. If you take Ferris with you for dinner, then it’s Bueller Grays. It’s a wonderful place with an excellent Cheeseburger(the world’s best, they boast), and they have a delicious frozen custard shop attached to every location(as far as I have seen until now) named Abbott’s. I’ll review that separately but if you are ever in a BGs, make sure you try the Abbott’s Vanilla Custard. And if the manager comes over and says«hey! Why do you have a cat in the store??? Get her out of here!!!» then it should be renamed Banal Grays.

Heard and read about custard… Decided to try it, and nothing impressive at all… Gelato is so much better…

Wasn’t expecting an awesome garbage plate when I walked in. I planned on a decent burger and fries. I had the 2 cheeseburger one and make sure you try that meat hot sauce! It is a little spicy… you’ve been warned but it is very tasty.

Definitely NOT the best burger. Patty was thin and dwarfed by the bun. Not the friendliest staff. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

Home of the world’s greatest cheeseburger. I really like the cheese and buns. The menu is solid. Fries, wings, finger foods and they even have an Abbots frozen custard inside. The newspaper and phonebook will typically have good coupons so be sure to get some money off. They have garbage platters as well. Definitely a family atmosphere.

The food is 4 star worthy, but the atmosphere killed this place for me. I don’t think I’ve ever been in a restaurant environment as depressing as this one. Got a bacon cheeseburger which was amazing, and perfectly crispy curly fries, but no one looked like they wanted to be there. Glum employees and patrons who looked like they were forced to eat there made me wonder if the food was worth spending any amount of time in the establishment.

Call it a Western New York thing, but I always loved Bill Grays! On a snowy evening, when you’re in the mood for a quick burger and fries, Bill Grays always hits the spot. We also love the Buffalo Road location because they have a drive thru. I had to laugh when reading previous reviews about the décor of this location, because you are all spot on. The décor is totally outdated(including the fake trees with one inch thick dust). Needless to say the franchise owner should really invest more back in to this location to spruce things up. Some compare Bill Grays to a Tom Wahls or Schallers and they do have very similar menus. Bill Grays has one thing that the other two don’t and that’s Abbots frozen custard! They also have a mean veggie burger(loveee). The fries rock! For years and years we dined at Bill Grays and will continue to as long as the food is good. Tip: Grab coupon before you go for maximum savings on the burgers.

There’s something to be said about consistency. Every time I go here, I have the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich, and every time it is exactly the same: juicy, tender, and delicious. In the«not-quite-fast-food» category, BG’s has a pretty good niche. While the«world’s greatest cheeseburger» claim might be a stretch, you can count on a good meal time and again.

I love Abbott’s frozen custard located inside, and it’s nice to have a burger on the side if I still have room.

Back in the day Bill Grays had an outstanding product, but it isn’t so much anymore. This is my 2nd try since being back home on business. 20 minutes to get a take out order ready, the guy rang my order in wrong, and the quality was about like going to Wendy’s. Stick with Charley’s in West Webster. Much better than Bill Gray’s

Being new to the Rochester area, I seriously thought Bill Gray’s was the name of a car dealership. Oops. Thankfully, Unilocal corrected me on this before I embarrassed myself. Tucked in the back corner of a strip mall, Bill Gray’s is… I dunno. It’s kind of like a mall food court that hasn’t been updated in 15 years. It’s a hodgepodge of vintage decorations, flat screen tv’s, and kid-friendly décor. For example, there’s a(dusty) hot air balloon hanging down the center with stuffed animals in it, but on an adjacent wall, there are vintage advertisements. It’s like they’re trying to be Applebees, but with less style. When you order food, you go up to a counter, like a fast food place. The menu is fairly large, and includes everything from cheeseburgers, hot dogs, fries, tater tots, milkshakes, and more. On the other side of the counter is an Abbott’s ice cream station, which was really tempting. For dinner, I ordered the Honey BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger, and my boyfriend had the Double Cheeseburger with everything. As a side, we ordered a basket of fried mushrooms, on the recommendation of another reviewer. For everything, including drinks, it came to $ 26. Ouch! My burger was okay. Not terrible, not great. The buns were fresh, which was a bonus. However, there was too much bun, and not enough juice from the burger or the BBQ sauce. The bites were dry and underwhelming. The burger it’self is a thin patty, which didn’t have much moisture. My boyfriend said his burger was decent, and that the hot sauce was good. Our fried mushrooms were quite the disappointment. They were ready after we had finished our burgers, which was annoying. Secondly, you could tell that they were frozen mushrooms, not the fresh ones we were hoping for. They were hot, and some of the batter wasn’t all the way cooked on them. For over $ 7, I was expecting a lot better. Overall, our experience at Billy Gray’s was an experience. This place would be great for families, especially with the seating and the menu variety. However, if you want a seriously good burger with good sides, go a quarter mile down the road to Five Guys.

The food is really good when i’m craving that greasy hangover meal. It’s filling and I always get sad when there’s no more food to enjoy. But when you have no coupon, it’s at least $ 12 for one person. A tad expensive for a fast food joint.

Im here from Cali and when I first walked in, it felt like a warehouse… good, cheap, and very open atmosphere. I had their famous burger n it was a burger patty sandwich, could be called a patty melt. I also had a chocolate shake which was half price for happy hr. It was a good milkshake comprable to wendy’s frosty.

I’ve been coming to Bill Grays since I moved to town as a child. Since I’ve been coming, the food has always been consistently delicious. My backup here is my picky, fickle older brother still to this day must have a cheeseburger from bill grays everytime he comes to town along with everyone else in the family actually. Its well worth the trip and money. Find a coupon and you get 2 for 1 on burgers, dogs, shakes, fries, just about anything in the joint. Give it a try, its really great

Came here for the«World’s Best Cheeseburger»(granted I was staying at a hotel across the street with no car, so there weren’t many options), but that title only holds if your burger«world» doesn’t extend much beyond McDonalds and Burger King. The atmosphere inside was more like a one-shop food court(you order at the main take out area and then service yourself in the seating area) than a restaurant, and it included an «arcade» that was a sorry collection of outdated games. The food was cheap, though, so you get what you pay for.

Bill Gray’s is a Rochester favorite. Fried flat burger on a hard roll is standard. Toppings include onion, relish, ketchup, mustard, and the famous hot sauce. My favorite is the«Great plate» a version of Rochester’s garbage plate, made famous at Nick Tahou’s. Gray’s does it fast and good. The menu includes Fish, Chichen, Hots, and Sausage. I have had it all and it’s all good. Make sure one person in your group gets the onion rings and you get thr fries. That way you don’t miss out. Oh and my girlfriends favorite is the fried mushroom caps or fries with gravy.
