This place knows how to make the most delicious grilled cheese sandwiches I’ve ever had. The popular Rochester Public Market Food Truck Rodeo has a plentiful variety of food trucks from all over Upstate NY, but I always found myself going straight to Cheesed and Confused. Pork N Mac and Apple Bacon Cheddar are my favorites — you really can’t go wrong. Think $ 8 is a bit pricey? They pack these sandwiches with so much goodness that once you take your first bite, the price will be the last thing on your mind.

Well I definitely was confused. I ordered the Pork & Mac and thought I was getting just that, when it came out in sandwich form. HAHA! D’oh! It was good, but not what I wanted, my fault. I did not like the taste of the pork. It was dry and tasted old, like it had been sitting in a fridge for a few days. The bread was great though– buttery, toasty. The mac was decent. I really felt middle of the road about this sandwich though. And in 90 degree heat, it was not the best choice I should have made. I’m not wild about grilled cheese, so I wouldn’t eat from this truck again, but at least I tried! Also thought it was a bit pricey at $ 8.

Stopped at the food truck rodeo and so happy we did! Me and my husband split the Bacon, Cheddar and Cinnamon apple grilled cheese sandwich. The bread was perfectly grilled, crunchy and so tasty. The bacon, cheddar and apple/cinnamon compote was so perfect together — a little sweet and salty combo. Service was fast and very pleasant. They appeared very organized. Good sized portion for the price. Loved it and would definitely recommend stopping by when you see them.

When in Letchworth and there’s a cheesy food truck, do what the cheesy zombies do! Must have cheese. We were excited to see this food choice as it was comfort food on a Sunday and may I add a very crisp cool day! On the way out we placed our order for the pulled pork and Mac & cheese grilled cheese. A side order of fried corn bites with jalapeño ranch dressing on the side. I’m a patient woman. Everyone in front of me and behind me had received their food. I waited about 18min? Not sure if they ran out of something. Nonetheless, it came out and we set out to share some grub. The sandwich was a little overdone on the grill top-dark brown, black in a few spots. That’s what was disappointing to me after waiting a while for it to be made. The pulled pork was delicious and a little spicy kick to it. The Mac & cheese was good too. The corn bites were battered and deep fried. Sweetness and buttery not what I expected, but good and weird at the same time. Better with the jalapeño ranch dressing. My husband liked them too. My daughter is 10, she handed hers to us after one bite-tooooo sweet for her. Overall a decent meal, 8.00 is a little pricey. 6.75 would be right on the money. The corn bites too were overpriced at 4.00 for about 8 small bites total. The are about 1inch wide and long. I only wish that the workers were had more personality. A smile would have been great when working with the large crowds they seemed to draw. Talk to your customers. Serve a few samples. Put some heart into it! It’s your livelihood. We are here to keep you in business!!!

Finally got to try this food truck yesterday at the monthly Food Truck Rodeo and I have one word to say — yum! When you’re in the mood for grilled cheese done right, these guys definitely have the knowledge and experience. A couple of friends and I went and we shared the Prime Time, Pork & Mac, Dessert, and Apple Cheddar grilled cheeses. Definitely filling, and definitely perfect warm gooeyness for the breezy summer day. Prime Time — this is the one I ordered! It was chock full of sliced roast beef(seriously a ton) and was practically drenched in melted havarti cheese goodness. Served on buttered sour dough, this was a real winner for me. It was awesomely crispy on the outside but so soft and beefy in the middle which made it really, really delicious. With the sauteed onions mixed in as well, it was almost like devouring a gourmet Philly Cheese Steak but in grilled cheese form. Ridiculously yummy. If anything, maybe it needed some saltier element to be added, but that’s being really picky. Apple Cheddar — Sweet Cheesy Jesus, this was the best of the best. Caramelized cinnamon apples, melted NY sharp cheddar, and bacon on perfectly toasted white bread? How have I never thought of this?! The savoriness and sweetness of bacon and apples have always gone amazingly well together and just covered in a thick layer of NY cheddar it lit my taste buds ablaze. If I go again, this is the one I would order probably every time. The balance of everything was awesome. Dessert — By far, this was the ultimate loser of the evening. Strawberries, melted chocolate and brie were sandwiched between what might as well have been two off-brand name waffles and as delicious as that may sound, the pairing was just awful. I don’t know if the brie was bad, but it was so thick and unpleasant amidst the sliced strawberries and goopy chocolate that we barely finished half of it before having to throw it out. Maybe a sweetened mascarpone would be a more sensible choice? In any case, it was just wretched. Stay away! I think in the end I’ve gotta give Cheesed and Confused 3.5 /5 stars. The grilled cheese they did right was awesome, but the prices were a bit steep and the dessert grilled cheese was a dessert train wreck. Other than that though, seemingly you can’t go wrong!

Holy moly the Italian grilled cheese. Need it. Want it. Gotta have it. If you know anything about me you know that my favorite things in life are carbs and cheese. So obviously Cheesed and Confused is my new best friend. I finally visited Cheesed and Confused for the first time at Corn Hill Fest after eyeing them at countless food truck rodeos. I got the Italian sando. It was grilled to perfection. I like mine toasted and golden and delicious. They rocked it. The folks working the truck were so friendly and got everyone through the line pretty speedy. The sandwich was hot, salty, and cheesy. Honestly, I’d eat this every day if I could. The meat to cheese ratio was perfect. Nothing fell out of the sandwich, which is often a challenge with anything melted with cheese. Props guys! The tomato was enough of a fresh, clean addition to the salty, savory meats and cheese. I am going back ASAP and can’t wait for more… Regular grilled cheese with a side of tomato soup is in my future.

I had the pleasure of tasting this food truck’s offerings at the Corn Hill Arts Festival over the weekend, and I’m certainly glad I did. My friends and I got to sample 2 different sandwiches, including the Apple, Bacon Cheddar, and the Pork and Mac. Each sandwich was unique and delicious in its own way, but I really enjoyed the ABC because of the cinnamon spiced apples. Sadly the cheese wasn’t as melty as I normally like it, but the bread was delicious. I can’t wait to try this truck out again so I can test out a few of their interesting side. I’m glad there are so many interesting food truck options readily available in the Rochester area. Yum!

I tried the Cheesed and Confused’s Pork and Mac:(pulled BBQ pork | Mac-n-cheese | pepper-jack | white) and the Apple Bacon and Cheddar sandwiches. Both times I had these sandwiches were at the Food Truck Rodeos that take place at the public market. They are about 8 bucks a sandwich. If you go to the market events the line is pretty long but they pump the sandwiches out pretty quickly. Large portions, good with beer. I could make it myself, but it’s convenient and tasty.

We were on a shopping mission with a limited amount of time when we spotted a gathering of food trucks on the corner of Jefferson and Clay Roads. We were both unsure where top stop for lunch but we were also both starving, it was as though our minds were made up for us. We pulled in and both immediately knew it would be Cheesed and Confused that we were headed for. You just can’t pass up any business dedicated to cheese. Well, maybe you can, but we can’t. I decided on the Pork & Mac after asking which was better, the other option being the Prime Time. It was a hands down endorsement from the cook. Pulled Pork and Mac & Cheese on Sourdough, grilled of course. My husband went with the Bacon Gorgonzola which had bacon and gorgonzola but you really should have been able to figure that out. He was wronged. Not that his sandwich(which also had a healthy dose of grilled onions) wasn’t delicious, but his case of plate-envy was so deep I think I saw a tear. My sandwich was spectacular. If you are a fan of pulled pork and mac & cheese separately, I am confident this sandwich would delight. The sauce of the pulled pork was spicy and sweet, working wonders with the creamy cheese sauce on the soft noodles. Even the bread was a noticeable strong point. There was nothing I would have changed about this sandwich. It was the perfect size for a normal person, and wasn’t even messy somehow. Thinking about that, it was actually a miracle I didn’t have sauce everywhere but the toasty slices did their job admirably. I don’t recall the price of each item, but with the two sandwiches and one Arnold Palmer, our total was $ 15.50. Yes, that’s a bit much considering we ate inside our car, but it was much faster than any café that would serve that caliber of sandwich and much much much much much better than any drive thru that would match the speed of which our lunch was over and we were back on mission.
