Chocolate, cheese, beer, wine & coffee. All those things in under one roof. They have a happy hour which is great if you like that. Tiramisu is my favorite dessert and theirs is pretty good. Mocha coffee is excellent. My only complain is that it’s very quiet(no background music), so you can hear everyone’s conversation in the room which I dislike. Other than that, 5 stars!

So good! My friend and I went to Chocolate and Vines on a week night just to chit chat and catch up! I got a glass of moscato and we shared a «bomba» which was a peanut butter ice cream ball covered in chocolate. It was perfect to share. I would definitely go back for a glass. They have outdoor seating too!

I love love love this place! Great wine selection and the cheese plates are delicious too. Great place to go out with a few girlfriends or after dinner on a date night. No complaints and I’ve been there multiple times.

The cutest place to get dessert & coffee. We were told to try the flourless chocolate cake as its one of their best deserts. I actually liked the Pistachio Cheesecake better. Probably the best cheesecake I’ve had

Third time here and the dessert as always was delightful. You may not notice the place right away since its just a house, but once you find it and go inside the place is nice. Very spacious yet intimate setting with great service every time.

Well a group of us went due to a friend’s birthday. It’s in a converted house. Warm soft colors. They put tables together for us. We were told some things were not available and that there was a 15% discount on the chocolates and deserts due to the fact that they will be closing soon for the«winter» We shared some bottles of Red, got some deserts The Flourless Chocolate Cake it was almost like fudge. The gelato’s are are fabulous and not too sweet. Chocolate’s are tasty but the banana one was a little off taste wise. The wines are pretty well curated some local, some a from the usual areas. Oregon, Washington State, California also ports, some beers and a few ciders. They also serve tea and coffee. They do cheese but it’s so much per piece or ounce so it’s not like you order a straight cheese plate for $ 15 although I think that would be a good idea. Staff is knowledgeable and unobtrusive. We stayed after they closed the close at 11pm. Check them out I understand during the summer you can sit outside. Parking is on the street.

A little pricey, but cute place to stop by after dinner with a date. Tried the chocolate truffle mousse, tiramisu, and hot chocolate. The chocolate truffle mousse was dark, rich, soft, and smooth. You can taste the quality in every bite and just want it to last. Not too sweet. This was nicely done. Paired with coffee or tea, this is an excellent pick! The tiramisu was good. It’s a little thicker than some others I’ve had, but not by too much. I thought the espresso flavoring seemed slightly off, but that may have been because my tasting bites were between bites of mousse. Also a good pick, but might be worth trying something else if you’re tied between options. The hot chocolate was presented very nicely with lots of foam on top! It wasn’t much different from your standard hot chocolate, but it definitely got me interested in trying some of their other hot drinks. Overall, nice place to bring a date or some friends for desert. Our total bill was $ 20. If only they were a little cheaper, or had larger portions for their deserts, I might be able to justify coming more often. Unfortunately, for my budget, chocolate and vines will be reserved for special occasions.

We went here for desser with friends. Defintley a cute place to go to, but it is a little pricey. We split a bottle of wine with 4 people and then my boyfriend and I shared a cheesecake slice and got 2 truffles each.

My friend hyped Chocolate and Vines up big time, so I was excited to check it out for her birthday! Sadly my high expectations only led to disappointment. The«cute house» it’s in just struck me as a bit dingy– the ambiance wasn’t anything special. My boyfriend and I shared tiramisu, which wasn’t particularly flavorful or tasty. All in all, I wasn’t particularly impressed with the place and don’t feel a strong need to go back.

This place was crazy cute. Extremely pricy, but worth it! The truffles are amazing, although I liked the caramel sea salt much better than the hazelnut(a bit gritty). The pumpkin pie cheesecake was great, and all of the wines were superb.

This was my 2nd time @ Chocolate & Vine. The 1st was New Years Eve w/the family & we had a blast w/a crowded, happy room. We had cheese plates that I remember. lovely! I had wonderful wine. All were happy w/timely, good service in this very attractive & comfy room in a former home. My g-daughter & I went recently for something chocolate & a bit too eat. We ordered decaf coffee & hot chocolate. Didn’t drink it. The coffee I had was way too strong & the chocolate was bitter. The cheese plate was wonderful! We ordered all the cheeses offered and luckily we liked the opposite cheeses. They even had gluten free crackers for me. Greatly appreciated! I must say, the desserts were wonderful, tool! Chocolate mousse was soooo chocolaty & smooth. Lastly, the service. The waitress was a lovely lady. She just needed direction on servicing her tables. Now, I’m not really fussy, ok maybe I am, but she really could us direction on placing the food, drinks & set ups(flat ware & napkins) in a way that makes sense. It was just put down any old place & often in the way. She was also rather slow. I would go back again for the desserts & cheese plates but go back to the NY’s Eve experience of imbibing in wine instead of coffee or hot coco. They also had a beautiful display of chocolate candies. I MUST try them one of these trips.

Okay so my first mistake was going here and expecting a meal. This is really more of a light fare, snack and treat yourself kind of place. I shouldn’t have gone in expecting entrée type food, so I’ll preface this review with that admission. Service was slow. There were two people working and in the time that I was there, there was one pair about to leave and two more couples came in while we were seated. So it wasn’t really hopping which is fine. However, it probably shouldn’t have taken 10 minutes to get water. The pace was really slow for an empty restaurant whose main kitchen purpose is brewing coffee and cutting up cheese. The café mocha was way more bitter than I like and my grandmother’s coffee smelled and tasted slightly burnt and bitter(pro tip: your coffee shouldn’t be lip-smacking bitter) and she got the almond toffee flavored one. We got every cheese plate we could get. It was far too much cheese. The three stronger flavored ones were not my cup of tea but the lightest two(a French cow cheese and I believe a Norwegian cow cheese) were spot on with a bit of honey drizzled on top. The desserts were also fantastic. I had the exotic bomba and my grandma had the chocolate mousse. It was lovely. I think that I might have enjoyed it more if I wasn’t starving to death and looking for a meal. If I went specifically for dessert, I would have liked it better. I may give this place another chance down the road.

Such a lovely little place nestled in the Neighborhood of the Arts. I tend to forget about it, as you would drive right by it if you weren’t looking, but it’s a great place. It’s located in a purple and light green house right on the corner of Merriman and University, and the owners live up above the bar. The inside is decorated very tastefully in shades of purple and grey. If the weather is cooperating, I like to sit outside on the porch — great for people watching and a a bit of fresh air. They also have little white lights wrapped around the railing, so it provides some ambient light. The menu is a nice selection of whites, sparkling, reds, and dessert wine. The also offer a selection of coffee and tea. The menu is nicely organized, with a good selection of local and regional wines, as well as wines from CA and international ones. The cheese plate is beautifully arranged, albeit a tad expensive. I liked that the bread was from Balsam Bagels. The brie and gouda are two of my favorites, and they give you some mixed nuts and dried fruit to complement the cheeses. I don’t have much of a sweet tooth, but my dining companion got me two truffles — a dark chocolate cherry and a chocolate pistachio with a cherry filling — YUM. A lovely closing to the wine and cheese. This place has an intimate vibe — great for a quieter evening where you don’t want to strain to hear your friends and/or date. The service is always impeccable — one of the owners served me last time I was in, and was engaging and checked in often, but not so much that it became an annoyance. I recommend C&V to anyone who loves a great wine in a quiet, relaxed setting!

This was a really cute bar/restaurant. It was kind of weird, because it feels like a restaurant in someone’s living room, but that’s kind of cool too. The service was excellent and the waiter was really knowledgeable about the beers and wines in the menu. There isn’t a big food selection, so you would definitely want to eat before you come here for dessert or a drink after.

Good food, nice atmosphere, weird service. I don’t know if our server was just having an off day or what. She seemed very knowledgeable about the menu and was happy to give recommendations. I got the gjetost, a sweet Norwegian cheese, and my date ordered the cannoli. I’m allergic to pistachios, which they often sprinkle onto cannoli, so I asked the server whether there were any pistachios on these. Her answer was kind of mumbled and what I got out of it was, «I don’t know». Uh… okay. It wasn’t my meal that I was worried about so I just let it go. We had a group of seven people and we had all ordered food and drinks. The drinks came out first, and then the food, and there was confusion both times. We ended up with an extra drink somehow and it took a minute for us to sort out who had ordered which food items. Fortunately everyone seemed pleased with what they had ordered. Serving baguette slices with the gjetost was a good way to dial down the rich flavor of the cheese.(I’m not sure what they thought I was going to do with the honey they served with it too, though.) Overall, we had an enjoyable evening. I’d describe the ambiance as «nice» more than«romantic» and I wasn’t completely happy with the service. The blasé attitude toward food allergies knocks Chocolate and Vines down to three stars.

I can’t believe I have not yet left a review for this place granted how much I love everything about this cute little house that has been turned into a dining area! A perfect spot for a couple’s date night and a candle-lit kind of ambience; the two gentlemen that I have seen on most of my visits are both very knowledgable and polite. My two favorite desserts here are the«Torta Nocciola» and the«chocolate truffle mousse». On the last occasion, I went in with my sister to have some fun time, we decided to go with Prosecco; I always prefer Prosecco over Champagne. We asked our waiter’s(who also seems to be the owner) opinion regarding the dessert that would go well with it and he suggested the Amaretto Mascarpone. The prosecco was subtle, nice and bubbly! The first bite into the dessert, I could taste the marzipan flavor which I detest!!! How foolish of me to not notice the word«Amaretto» in the name! Anyhow, Michael(our waiter) kindly switched it to my all-time favorite chocolate mousse! We enjoyed every last bite of it! Finding a parking spot can be a little bit of a hassle, but absolutely worth it.

A fun, romantic place to come for a glass of wine and some cheese. Do not come here hungry!(Or poor!) The chocolate truffles are delicious but minuscule. $ 2 per, they are the size of a dime. Barely two small bites. But I want to reiterate –they are delectable. Everything is presented beautifully –even the pâté was beautiful looking –three scoops of the veggie pâté is arranged nicely with about a 6″ piece of baguette sliced delicately. Also arranged nicely on this plate are two little dishes, one with Boston honey and the other with spicey mustard. There’s a handful of mixed nuts and craisins, along with generous slices of cheese. Try EVERYTHING together on a baguette –I am telling you, it is the perfect pairing of flavors and spices. MMmm. The menu is rather small –this is my only«complaint», if you can call it that –I was just hoping for more choices of pâté, since the only one that interested me was the veggie one. And there is nothing substantial to eat here. Though, as I found out, cheese and bread are rather filling on their own. The wine is wonderful, too. They are all served in appropriate glassware, depending on type of wine. Which impresses me –not everyone bothers to serve that way anymore. I highly recommend coming here on a date. The lighting and ambiance is romantic and calming. Seating is a little disorganized, mainly due to the layout of the house –we were at a two-topper table close to the pathway from the entranceway to the back of the house so we were constantly being passed by servers and guests on their way to either the bathrooms or the front door. It wasn’t too bothersome though. And it was fairly private. For an idea of how much we spent for two, we ordered the veggie pâté, one cheese selection, two glasses of wine each and a chocolate truffle and it came to $ 55, including tip. Watch the steps on the way in –they were particularly icey and snowy when we were coming and going. Bön Appétit!

Chocolate, cheese, wine, and pâté… How could anyone possibly resist a place serving this combo? I ordered the pistachio cheesecake. I like cheesecake that melts in my mouth. This one was a tad overly sweet with a thicker texture than I liked. The pistachio taste was strong, but it tasted of the fake pistachio flavor that you get in cheap bright green pistachio ice cream rather than the good stuff. The tiramisu on the other hand was superb. Very well balanced. Wish I had ordered this instead! Staff here are great. Super friendly and don’t mind answering all sorts of odd questions about the menu. The ambience here is pretty romantic. Would recommend for a date night.

C&V is located in the Neighborhood of the Arts area and could be overlooked because it’s a house, purple and green to be exact, in the arts district. This colonial house also has seating outdoors in the front and on the porch that’s along the side of the house facing the side street. The setting is cozy, intimate, and quiet. It’s a nice place to wind down after a long day or let the sparks of excitement fly with someone special. The menu is organized in a helpful way by listing them in order of flavor intensity. I enjoy their cheese boards, which also comes with baguettes, sweet spread(honey lately), a handful of dried apricots, golden raisins, almonds, and pecans. They gave us honey with our board the last time because they didn’t have their mouthwatering jam/spread that comes from some other country. I hope the jam comes in soon because it was delicious! Last time I was there, they didn’t have my fav — the Gjetost which was creamy with light hints of caramel. It sounds odd in a cheese, but absolutely delightful. This visit we had the aged gouda(chunky, sharp flavored with salt crystals) and the Bonnieview Ayersdale(smooth and similar to a mozzy flavor). The strength and saltiness of the cheeses were subdued and neutralized by the honey and baguette which creates a nice balance altogether. They have a great selection of wine too. The Chianti Classico was light/medium bodied, slight oak flavor with a dry finish. I preferred the Batasiolo Barbera D’Alba, which was smooth yet lightly peppery with a cherry finish. I tried their sorbets for the first time and was not a fan of the suggested exotic bomb sorbet. It was a ball of layers of mango, passion fruit, and raspberry sorbet covered with white chocolate. The sorbet was so sweet and fruity that it overpowered the already sweet white chocolate shell. It’s always a pleasure to come here. The staff is friendly, pleasant, knowledgeable, and personable. They take the time to answer questions, offer suggestions, and just chat in general. At the same time, they know when to give you personal space. I’ve unintentionally stayed past closing once and never felt pushed out the door. They have excellent customer service.

Holy cannoli! Every week, the owner drives two hours to pick up the filling for these delectable cannolis. Each one is filled with its creamy, cheesy, yumminess just before it’s served which means the shell is always crispy, never soggy. Drizzled with a little chocolate… oh yea, party for your mouth. Perfect spot for a dessert date. It’s located in a charming old house with a big porch and outdoor seating for when weather permits; candlelit tables and romantic lighting inside. Nice wine list and they also serve delicious hot chocolate. Mmm mmm good.
