Pretty good, had the Prime Rib. Was a bit tough but I did get the end cut. Soup was yummy!

I don’t know why it took me so long to try this place. We finally went in Friday for a late lunch and it was amazing! My husband ordered the hot turkey dinner which was a great sized portion and absolutely delicious. I had their special salad, which was spinach, arugula, strawberries, grilled chicken, Parmesan, and sliced almonds with a blood orange vinaigrette and it was beautiful and very good. The atmosphere was nice and laid back with a few special accents that made it a bit more elegant. We will definitely be returning

For the most part, all of my experiences here have been pleasant. The food is great! The reason why I eat here is because they have the Best sweet potato fries in rottenchester. The first floor has quiet dining, with a cozy bar. There is a second floor… I prefer the first floor. Today I asked the bartender to make me this: Weekend On The Beach recipe ½ oz Crown Royal® Canadian whisky ½ oz peach schnapps ¼ oz sweet and sour mix ¼ oz apple schnapps Mix the crown royal, apple and peach schnapps, and sweet and sour mix with ice cubes in a shaker and shake until well blended. Strain into a shot glass. Makes one serving. Read more: Crown Royal short-drink recipes: 20+ appetizing drink recipes. She did a good job, however, we had to make some substitutions with the ingredients.

Drinks are very strong so plan accordingly. Stick with bottle beer because the taps taste skunked. Food is VERY good.

I’ve been there for lunch and dinner several times in the past 10 years. The service is consistently very good and the food is pretty good too. Nothing that makes you say wow but good standard fare for this area. I like the bar atmosphere.

Awesome staff and home cooked foods. Steak tips are cooked to perfection and the Buffalo mac n cheese is enough for 2 meals and fabulous.

I’d like to think of Lilac City Grill as one of Rochester’s gems… Alaina is awesome, loving seeing her face when we go in. Also Trivia nights on Tuesday are always a hit. Good food, good beverage, good service. I’ll definitely keep coming back.

I’m in a celebratory mood, my granddaughter was just born in Rochester. I can’t wait to get out and enjoy a nice glass of wine and toast to her arrival. I grab the other grandma,(my daughter’s husband’s mom) and we both head over to Lilac City Grille for some dinner. I was from out of town and so was she, but we saw it was open, and gave it a try. Sign outside said«Trivia Night» so I wasn’t sure if it was going to be a distraction. Actually I had no idea where it was being conducted because it certainly wasn’t happening in the bar area we were seated in. I am so glad we selected this place. Don’t let the location fool you. There is plenty of parking across the street and on the main road. The bar located when you first step up to the right is small but quaint. The booths set up on the edge are cozy and dimly lit, giving it a good ambiance. The server came over quickly and suggested to us the wines that were available, and she was friendly and professional. She read through the specials, and we both agreed to get a buffalo chicken chimichunga.(sp?) It was out of this world. The food was great, filling and delicious. We both had an cup of soup, her baked onion soup was amazing(she said) and my corn chowder was as homemade as my grandma would make. Needless to say I took half my dinner home, I was full, and reheated it the next day, and it was still fantastic! I went back with my daughter a week or so later with my brand new baby granddaughter, and the server(a different one) was friendly and also very professional. The food that night too, all homemade, good quality and big portions. Enough for lunch the next day. I’ll definitely be back when I am in that area again, since my daughter her husband and my new granddaughter live only 15 minutes away from Rochester. The only thing I wish I had tried was the desserts, all homemade of course, and all looked delicious!

The menu has tons of items. I had a sampler trio which was good. The southwest taquitos were good. Wings were a little over cooked for my taste. My husband ordered rib eye & they brought him prime rib. He said it was ok but a lurks too fatty. I like to try them for brunch sometime. Our experience was ok. Nothing too special. Nice atmosphere. Very friendly staff

Sunday brunch, 10+ items on the menu. Brunch beverages, 16 on the list from mimosas to bloody Mary’s. Live music, not sure if it’s every Sunday, but they do have quality performers. Makes it loud, but it’s nice too. I love coming here because I feel at home. Low ceilings are a little frustrating, but it doesn’t affect the quality of food and service.

I’m long overdue in posting this update, and I want to point out that Lilac City Grill is in a new location and has made many improvements since my first review. I applaud Heather and her staff for working hard and making Lilac City Grill a great casual dining experience. Also congrats on winning the Rochester Munch Madness restaurant competition! I’ve eaten lunch in the new location half a dozen times, and in each and every case the food was fresh and delivered to the table fast. They have an upstairs room, but since I’ve been there for lunch I’ve stayed downstairs. I prefer eating in the booths in the bar area but even the dining room is much cozier than in the old location. There is a bar area upstairs as well as down, but no «rough customers». The menu hasn’t changed, but I almost always try the specials. There is always something that is a completely new take on classic comfort food. An example was the brilliant menu options for St. Paddy’s Day! I shared it on Facebook because I was really impressed at the creativity. I won’t tell you what to order, the menu is huge plus there are the specials. I will tell you to go there and bring your friends.

Finally got around to trying this place for dinner. When we were seated, we were the only ones in the dining room. A few patrons were in the bar. Service was on the slow side, considering the place was virtually empty. We had the 12 oz. ribeyes and our meals were somewhat slow to come out of the kitchen. The steaks were OK, but nothing special. Baked potatoes were on the small side. Salads were good. What surprised me the most is that they do not serve rolls with the meals, nor do they have any available. I can’t remember the last time I was in a restaurant where you couldn’t get bread or a roll with your meal. Overall, service was slow and the food was just OK. It certainly didn’t live up to all the praise they heap upon themselves on their web site. We found the hype to be just that — hype.

The service here is beyond that of any bar I have been to. The tenders and servers are attentive and detail oriented while maintaining a friendly amd approachable demeanor. While no dish I have had ever disappointed, their seafood deserves a special mention as well above any local restaurant, let alone bar. The setting is very relaxed with low lighting and an overall friendly demeanor. If ever in the area, I can not reccomend this establishment enough.

We visited this restaurant while on vacation. We were pleasantly surprised. 4 adults and 5 kids and the they accommodated us really well. The kids meals were great and came on really neat divided trays. The full meals were awesome. Surf and turf, steak, spicy Mac and cheese, nachos and stuffed mushrooms were all a big hit. Drinks from the bar came out fast and well made.
