I love this place and the service of the really friendly staff. A great variety of fun festival and belly dance wear, esoteric books, home décor, candles and incense. I have also attended several of the dance classes and found them very enjoyable and now incorporate my new dance moves into my club dancing! Saturdays they hold a wonderful free community discussion, Mindful Rochester. I love this ongoing workshop and recommend it for all! Over all I LOVE Now and Zen, so happy that it is in Rochester!

I don’t understand the two star review left here. It seems they left a two star review simply because the services this business offers does not appeal to them? I stopped in to Now and Zen yesterday for the first time, and I had a very pleasant experience. They sell a lot of new age items, (incense, clothes, etc.), and the do a number of events as well (pipe ceremonies, tarot readings, dance classes). The woman who worked there was very friendly and helpful, and the prices were reasonable. I think Now and Zen is a nice addition to the stores in the South Wedge, and though it did not appeal to Christopher B., I think that it appeals to many other swedgies.

I gave it two stars, only because this store might appeal to someone, and the person behind the counter seemed nice enough to engage in light retail conversation with while browsing. Possibly have been at work for a while, he was simply starved for oxygen.
Definitely there is incense. As a bonus, you even leave with the free heavy scent of the incense in your clothes and hair for hours afterward.
I personally have no «metafuzzical» needs, but if you do, perhaps then you are the target demographic for this store in the South Wedge.
