Rochester Barber Shop

Came in here for a quick trim on my beard. Very reasonably priced and Brian was awesome

Got my hair cut by Vinnie. I didn’t want to go to a stupid salon and feel stupid, had a friendly conversation and good vibes. Going to be going here for here on out.

This place is slick. I came her as I didn’t want to spend more than $ 40 at a salon. It is located the mini strip mall inside the building on Main Street. There are two barbers and 6 others waiting for a cut. On the walls are all neat knick knacks and Detroit sports memorabilia. They have the large old school barber chairs. They look like 1950 circa. And of course there is hair on the floor. They usually have 3 barbers but one guy had to take off today. The haircut was great! Come here as it is worth it.

Ever since Great Clips cut my son’s ear during his second hair cut ever, he has not sat still for another, let alone let a clipper get near his ears… Until now. I took him here today, Joe cut his hair and not only did he sit still but he also let him trim by his ears. Joe was great with my 2.5 year old and he gave him a great cut. I think my son liked feeling like one of the guys instead of going with mommy to a salon. We will definitely be back even though it’s a bit of a drive, the service is worth it.

Just stopped by for a haircut here cause I couldn’t get into my regular barber in time…
The haircut is 14 bucks before tip. Felt like there was a pretty huge lack of attention to detail. The barber asked me what I wanted and I told him and I had some pictures of what my hair usually looks like. He kind of ignored me. Overall, the cut turned out okay, a little uneven at parts. You get what you pay for I guess.
Also, I know we don’t go to the barber for a conversation or anything… but it was oddly silent. Felt like he didn’t make much of an effort to even talk to me. Never even told me his name. Would have been nice to have a little bit of small talk at least?
Anyway, probably won’t be coming back, but it’s not a bad place if you’re in a jam. Good luck.

When it comes down to it, the 3 things every man has are: A good brand of whiskey, a reliable pair of boots, and a trusty barber.
This barber is a straight up, no frills establishment that every man has to have as their barber. Prior to this, I used to go to Lady Jane’s. (yes, lady fucking janes). This is the place to be. They specialize in giving you that straight up, clean, all American cut. No shampoo, no asking if you wanna buy some hair products, no asking you to book your next appointment in advance, none of that bs.

This place is by far the best barber shop, some time in mid August I took my son there for his first hair cut and was pleased how we were treated and the barber was very friendly and gentle with him, very happy place looks awesome love a family owned places like this and we are gone be a customer for life thanks again. For the fellow Unilocalers if you live in the area this is a go to place

I’m a blue collar haircut type of guy and like barber shops… good guys working here and a good haircut. From out of town but recommended it to my cousin.

Most of the guys here are incredibly friendly and great at what they do. Dependably good cuts and quick service.

I decided to drive a distance on the recommendation of a friend to get my haircut at the Rochester Barber Shop and it was totally worth it! Walked right in and was lucky enough to get the friendly, mild-​mannered owner with a gentle touch and excellent command of the shears and clippers. My hair was really grown out and needing to be pruned back significantly. I told Brian what I wanted and got what I asked for. Instead of just thrusting the clippers into my thatch, Brian scissors off the overgrowth and then very carefully gave my a very nice haircut. The inside of the shop is awesome with the vintage chairs and sports memorabilia. At the end of the haircut, Brian was really proud to show off his work to me. I like a barber who is good at what he does and knows it. Brian asked me if I’d like it shorter, and I probably should have said ‘yes’ — but so much hair had already come off that I’ll take him up on that option next visit. Oh, and he even offered me a $ 3 off as a first-​timer visitor… but I paid him the full amount because the work was so good.

I needed a beard trim. Bad. I looked like I had stumbled out of the woods after being dropped there by unloving parents and left for dead. I had learned to survive and joined a pack of wolves. They took me in as their own and I learned to hunt and survive.
But in real life I just took to Unilocal and found this place close to home. Not many reviews but the ones that were there were positive so I decided to stop in and get cleaned up.
The space is awesome. Old Detroit sports memorabilia adorned every inch of available wall space. It was quite the spectacle. My barber, who’s name I cannot recall, was great. Spent some quality time with my facial overgrowth and I came out looking like Al Borland from Home Improvement. Oddly enough this is a good look for me. While I was in the chair I decided to get a haircut as well. That went as smooth as the beard trim. All around quality at Rochester Barber Shop.
Be advised that this place is CASH ONLY. Normally I hate that but everything else made up for it. It’s cheap as all get out too. $ 17 for a haircut and beard trim.
Guys, go get yoself tightened up here. It’s truly awesome!

Great haircut and a reasonable price.

Was in from out of town and needed a cut in a pinch and found them with the help of Unilocal!Good guys and location with not much of a wait. Since it was my first time in I know they couldn’t do exactly what it is I get from my normal barber but it was decent… could have taken it a bit shorter on the sides but then again it could have just been my poor explanation lol

Great place. Highly recommend to anyone. Atmosphere is awesome — tv, music, old fashion arcade games. Plus Brian the owner is great and awesome guy. Go here for great service and great prices. You cannot beat this place at all. After the haircut you can walk around downtown, but either way you will not leave disappointed. What a barber shop should be like.
