Springhill Suites by Marriott

Look if your looking for a place near mayo clinic it’s probably not vacation. This place is across the street from the hospital quite and a great place very clean and breakfast is free and a scuttle to the clinic picks you up at the hotel … My only suggestion is to have an Internet price for the room. While checking in two couples checked in. in front of us. All we’re quoted higher different prices The east side of the building has less lights at night for sleeping

Nice clean rooms. Friendly service. Free breakfast and has shuttles to mayo clinic and the airport. Pretty convenient.

I came down here when my husband needed to be seen at Mayo suddenly. I was scrambling to find a place to stay at the last minute. The staff were very friendly and helpful with getting me a room and my reservation.
The room was a bit oddly shaped, but nothing that made me want to run away. It was clean and quiet, which is what I needed.
The parking was free, which is surprising, given its prime location in the downtown area. I liked the area, close to restaurants and the hospital. I had no trouble finding a spot and parking my car.
The breakfast was good. The area was kept clean and replenished as needed.
Overall, a nice hotel and good stay!

This suite hotel is directly across the street from an entrance to St. Mary’s Hospital. The parking is free. The Internet is free. The breakfast is free. The shuttle to the clinic is free, although they do take tips. There are two TV’s in the room… kind of strange for a small suite, but nice to have two different places from which to watch. There is a microwave and a small fridge, and a coffee maker. There are luggage carts, and a nice room with tables where we could eat our take out dinner from Tonic. I can’t speak to much more, since I had a surgery call at 5:30 a, m. We didn’t need a whole lot more.
can I add another star… just for service? Because of restrictions after my surgery, I was worried about how we could get our car loaded, and Ron not only broke down and loaded our scooter, but also loaded the rest of the luggage. What nice people here!

Suite hotel is cool. It’s usually more spacious, equipped with living area and some include an eating area with microwave and even a kitchenette. Springhill Suites is nice like that and I do love staying at any of them when permissible.
This one in Rochester is conveniently located by Mayo Clinic with shuttle service to all the clinic locations. It is also next to a Caribou and the restaurant Canadian Honker. That’s also why I like it. I can get my walleye dinner and milk chocolate mocha within walking distance. It doesn’t take much to keep this girl happy.
Their rooms are nice, modern, and very clean. I have no complain as far as facility. Well, the gym has made me claustrophobic. It’s so damn tiny with a couple of machines. It’s a sad looking gym but at least they still have one. Well, sorta. The pool is small but I never really use pool so I don’t give a crap about that.
The biggest annoyance is the parking permit they issue you at check in. I am the type of person who park my car, bring my stuff, check in, and call it a night. Over here, after I drop my stuff in my room, I have to go out in the cold again (if it’s winter), to hang that parking tag. Annoying.
Last time, I also had a weird experience being attended by some kid that’s probably still in high school, dressing in jeans and long sleeve t-​shirt at check in. He hasn’t even gone over his puberty zits phase yet. He clearly did not belong on the front desk but he seemed to know what he’s doing with the computer part. He did not know how to talk to customers however. He whispered and asked me question in short sentences in a very awkward manner. Then, he gave me my key just like that. Just the card. I asked him if I should guess my room number. Instead of giving me a key sleeve, he announced it loudly my room number and there were several people waiting behind me. I was like. Great! Way to pick a time to decide to speak louder, buddy! That triggered the manager to come out. She went on and handled the next guest. I was just the lucky one. I didn’t know what was that all about. Was it bring your kid to work day or something? Bizarre.
Other than that, this hotel is ok. I enjoyed my room and slept really good. That’s what matter most.

Stayed here twice both for mayo appts for self and family. Overall a good hotel with a little wall between the beds and the living area/​kitchenette. They have also have free parking, shuttle to the hospitals, and continental b-​fast. The front desk staff seems to always be folding towels and I think they clean the rooms as well? Could be cleaner but not horrible. The best part of our day was talking to the morning shuttle driver who calls everyone «sunshine», so we called her that too. A sweet lady that gave us a bright spot in those early morning rides to the clinic.

The Springhill Suites was great! They offer a free shuttle (5 – 15 minutes) to the Mayo Clinic, which is just a few blocks down 2^nd St. SW. The shuttle stopped at a few other hotels along the way and was far easier than driving. ⁵⁄₅
The room had 2 queen beds and was comfortable — lots of room length-​wise, but not so much width-​wise. Regardless, plenty of room. The staff was very nice and helpful! There was free parking alongside the hotel. ⁴⁄₅
However, there were 2 main disappointments: the internet and the «continental breakfast»:
The «high speed internet» was free in the rooms, but the connection wasn’t great and the router was too small for the amount of people. The internet ended up being «low-​speed,» but at least it was free. ²⁄₅
The picture in the elevator depicts the continental breakfast: waffles, muffins, bagels, bread, fruit, eggs, cereal, sausage, yogurt, juices, and coffee. After coming down for breakfast, I found out that waffles are only served on the weekends (was there during the week). The eggs were scrambled until they were in tasteless little bits. The apples were devoid of taste. Bright side: a) there were lots of choices; b) good breakfast options in the Mayo Clinic Subway. ²⁄₅
Not a 5-​star hotel by any means, but altogether I would recommend staying here.

The parking lot is located on the other side of the block. $ 12.00 for self parking outside. $ 16.00 for self parking indoor. Signage is not well placed at all.
The room is small but that is not much of a big deal to me but others may mind. The staff is friendly and the room is clean.
As with other hotels, they all neglect the iron. Calcium build up spewed out of the iron when I was using it to iron a back shirt. Speckles of white calcium particles stick on my shirt. Very annoying.

Springhill Suites is my usual choice for on the road 3+ days lodging and this one surpasses the Marriott standard of a friendly front desk and clean room with slightly better than a motel amenities. They have a shuttle that run through the various Mayo buildings on fairly short intervals. The gripes are fairly minor: the entrances aren’t very St Mary’s wheelchair friendly and my bed didn’t get the sheets changed the same day I asked for the change even though I asked in the morning. I would probably forgive that but this is the first time I’ve had a Marriott place reject adding my Marriott number to my booking because it was pre-​paid from a third party site. The front desk told me it was against Marriott policy and I would have felt like a douche asking her to look up how many hours I’ve lodged with Marriott and that this was the first time I’ve been told this so I just shrugged and enjoyed my stay.

I would give assistant manager Bill, ten stars! I had spent the previous week caring for my Grandmother and was anticipating a good nights sleep. Due to inclement weather and lack of hotel rooms, had to stay downtown. My sister and I had a horrible experience at another hotel when late in the evening I just couldn’t stand it and had to find a new resting place. I felt so fortunate to find Springhill Suites had an opening. On the telephone and upon our arrival Assistant Manger Bill was so pleasant, kind and accommodating.
Hotel is very clean, décor — modern with nice bright colors which helps mood while standing by a loved one. Continental breakfast –amazing! Great food, way above what I expected. I was mostly impressed with the customer service and care. It’s not something that you receive anymore and Bill went above and beyond. Good for Springhill Suites in hiring workers such as Bill. Thanks for a good nights sleep, an Amazing breakfast and although I hope to not return to Mayo Hospital for a long while I definitely know where to stay I need to.

As someone with a very unpredictable chronic illness which seems to «have a mind of its own,» I have found that many Service-​Based businesses often prey on people like me who must be in one place for an indeterminate amount of time under the guise of «Rules are Rules and we’d love to accommodate you but …» This exact scenario just happened to me as I drove from Santa Monica, CA to Rochester, MN to go for State-​of-​the-​Art Medical Treatment at the world-​renown «Mayo Clinic.» If the Diagnostic tests warranted Surgery, I was going to have to make such «open-​ended» arrangements for myself and for Family Members and friends kind enough to come and help me get through this challenging situation.
I have always known the Marriott Chain of Hotels to be Reliable and Reasonable and let’s face it — unlike a competitor — they don’t have a great-​great granddaughter who became famous for her talents in a Sex Tape. With that savvy business-​minded rationale in tow, I booked a room at «SpringHill Suites Marriott.» WOW — these folks were SO NICE and they are located directly across from the street from St. Mary’s Hospital — one of the main parts of The Mayo Clinic. Due to my fast-​changing health situation, I had to make a few modifications to my reservation and now my Mom and Sister will be staying there while I have Surgery. Please note: All of this was done without one (1) single hassle from the Staff.
They don’t charge for Parking, they don’t charge for using their Business Center, they don’t charge for using their meticulous Laundry Room which comes with Free Detergent and Free Fabric Softener, and they don’t charge for a rather extensive Continental Breakfast. They have FREE Newspapers and every room has a Refrigerator and Microwave seemingly to cater to folks like me who will be trying to save some $$ during this «Surgery Trip.» They are also one (1) block away from a «Diner-​type» restaurant called «Canadian Honker Restaurant.» You can eat Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner there and be 100% satisfied with the Food, Atmosphere and Service.
The rooms are large (hence the «Suites» name) and provide enough room to organize things while your medical affairs are attended to. Perhaps The Mayo Clinic and SpringHill Suites Marriott are working together to ensure that every aspect of a Patient’s stay in Rochester, MN is as hassle-​free as possible but they have succeeded BIG TIME. So, do yourself a favor and stay HERE when you or a family member must interact with The Mayo Clinic.
The Price is reasonable and they also have convenient Shuttles to the Airport. I can’t recommend this Hotel with Higher Praise — unless of course I discover that a current Descendant of the Marriott Family has released a Sex Tape!!! Seriously, BOOK IT and you will have one less thing to worry about.
