We had Voula’s cater a meal for over 30 people off premises and we couldn’t have been happier and more satiated! People who would never order Greek food(except what they think is spanakopita from frozen packages) were amazed at the flavors and the quality. I can’t even single out anything(well– the eggplant dish was terrific.) No one who was served was a vegetarian or vegan and were totally surprised and happy with the meal. Desserts were perfectly delicious as well… not gooey, but nicely prepared.

I love everything about this place. Almost everything can be ordered vegan, even more than what the menu has marked as VO(vegan option) because I saw someone get vegan pizza and I saw vegan kafteri in the cooler. The food is super flavorful and delicious. I had a brunch platter with spanakopita and tofu scramble over a bed of red lentils and veggies. It was amazing. The décor is very cute and on a 90 degree day, hubs described it as «aggressively air conditioned» which is perfect! Voula herself was helping seat people and I was glad to see she’s young because I want to come here for another 50 years. This place is not to be missed. Get a three course vegan meal and coffee frappé. What more is there? The only snafu was ordered a three spread platter and one of our spreads was wrong.

Best food we had since we landed in Rochester! Cutest little eclectic restaurant and very friendly staff. I’m going to go back before I turn in my rental car and go home!

I finally made it to Voula’s and I’m so glad I did! We had a wonderful dining experience. The food was outstanding! I tried the spanakopita special, which included potatoes, a salad, and a Greeky thing that I don’t recall the name of that was also delicious. I can’t say enough good things about those potatoes! They were phenomenal– seasoned to perfection and cooked perfectly. They made for a delicious party in my mouth. The spanakopita was also fantastic! My salad was very fresh too. The service was a little slow, but they were very crowded! We still got our food in a reasonable amount of time. I loved the décor and the ambiance of Volua’s– it felt very homey and welcoming. There’s plenty to look at! It’s quite cute and quaint. I also grabbed a dessert to go– kok– and it was light and delicious. It didn’t feel overly indulgent, but it was still a nice, sweet treat to go. Prices were totally reasonable for the amount of food that you get. Will definitely be back and would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys fresh, delicious Greek food!

My lunch was great! I had the vegan spanakopita special and the baklava for dessert. It was all very delicious and though I am no baklava connoisseur, it’s the best I’ve had so far in Rochester. The staff were very upbeat and friendly as well, which really made my day.

AMAZING! If you are looking for great Greek food you have found it! I had the Chicken Souvlaki Sandwich. It was served on a handmade fresh pita with just the right amount of tzatziki! The store is very cute and eclectic. I spent time in Italy and I can only imagine that Voula’s is exactly how a little Greek restaurant would be decorated in Greece. All of the tables and chairs are unique as well as the dishes. It’s like I stepped into Voula’s home and her and her family were making me dinner. I didn’t get to try dessert, but I will be back with a little more time to savor every bite!

When I say Vegan/Vegetarian what’s the first city that pops up in your mind??? Rochester New York? I know probably not. Berkeley Ca. okay, Santa Cruz Ca… sure…but Rochester? Rochester has a myriad selection of vegan and vegetarian restaurants. Thank God no more Unilocalers going to a steak house who are vegan and giving a one star(you know what I mean) Voula’s Greek Sweets is a wonderful cute little café that serves simple yet tasty vegan and vegetarian food. Their Kafteri breakfast egg sandwich is soo good: two eggs, kafteri sauce, fresh dill and parsley on lagana bread… it is very unique and a perfect blend of tastes and textures. The three spread combo with warm lagana bread is also a great vegan choice. I had it with their lemon potatoes which are simple and flavorful. Roasted brown with a hint of lemon… Before we left we picked up a bunch of their baked goods and they were all awesome. KoK…funny name awesome pastry: chocolate coated sponge cake filled with Bavarian cream. think of a healthy hostess chocolate cupcake… but oh so much better!!! Chocolatina…wow a chocolate layer cake dipped in chocolate… you gotta like chocolate but it is wonderful Galaktoboureko. Try pronouncing that… just point it’s easier. It is a custard filled phyllo pastry that is flaky and rich. I had read that Voula’s husband had been killed a few years ago, in a car accident, and I felt so sad for her but I have the highest regard for her reopening and making everyone that dines here so happy. She must be an amazing person! OPA!!!

Delicious. No photos for proof as I, again, lack self-control. Definitely returning to try the rest of the menu.

As a local carnivore, I was told by my coworker, I mean friend, that this place is vegetarian and vegan. I’m willing to try new things and I really, really wanted some tasty baklava. Since she was going for lunch, I said why not, I’ll go too! I have to break out of my shell sometimes and it will do me a lotta good to eat a little healthier. We got three different kinds of dip with the flat bread and boy did I really like the kafteri spread. The other two were just as delicious(the hummus and the skordalia) I ate almost an entire thing of flat bread alone where the other two had maybe one or two pieces only. Woops! For my main dish I got the spanikopita … I don’t usually eat spinach unless it’s raw baby spinach leaves on a sandwich but this really really delicious. I’m a huge fan of the filo dough. I think there was a good amount of feta cheese and spinach(I’m probably not the best to ask about portions of vegetables in my food but it was a good amount I swear!). I tried a couple pieces of the lemon potatoes and they were the most flavorful potatoes I had eaten. Definitely going back for more next time I visit! Lastly, for the dessert, the whole reason I went to begin with, I had baklava. The flakiest, tastiest, not extremely sweet but crunchy baklava I’ve ever had. I may be doing more visits here just for baklava. It’s probably best that I don’t have constant access to this treat or else I wouldn’t stop eating it! Overall this place has made me love Greek food and if anyone wanted to go to a Greek place, this will be the first place I’d recommend.

I had Tria Nissia, which is three sunny side up eggs on lagana flat bread topped with a healthy portion of Greek oregano and it was such a filling and savory breakfast that I could not leave without trying the baklava! I’d never had such authentic Greek food outside of Europe and I was pleasantly surprised. I’ll be taking my mom there for brunch sometime because she loves good Greek food! Also had an order of dolmades, which are grape leaves stuffed with seasoned rice and though they look like funky pickles, I really enjoyed them! They’re especially good with the vegan substitute of tzatziki! If you go for brunch, be sure to get there around 10am because it gets packed with customers by 10:30!

Delicious, authentic Greek food in a small, quaint location. Dolmatas, eggplant spread, feta salad, spanakopita, omelettes all delicious. We were full but had to try the desserts too. My Karioke was heavenly, just like candy. Service was fast and friendly. Will come back next time I’m in Rochester!

Such a neat lunch spot. All of the food we had for lunch was so fresh and the service was great. They had a pretty good variety for such a small place, and the pastries looked amazing. I wish they were open more than just 10 – 4, but try to get in here for munch if you can.

Voula’s is so stinkin good. I went with a friend and we ordered an assortment of dishes that were ALL amazing: — Spanikopita — Lemon potatoes — Papoutsaki — Specialty pizza. The desserts were also absolutely fantastic. You really can’t go wrong with anything you order here! Don’t you love places like that?! The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is great for lunch with coworkers, meeting friends, or going on a date. The parking spaces are plentiful and are right in front of Voula’s, which makes coming here that much easier! Go for lunch and take home a box(or two) of Greek sweets — it’s worth it :)

Voula vous coucher avec moi c’est soir? The sweets here are so sinfully sensually sexy that you’ll be begging them to sleep with you(and in you) after you consume every delectable morsel that you purchased. At very reasonable prices and with generous portions, these sweets are courtesans that are surprisingly affordable for rent. What to get: Galaktoboureko What else: Um, more Galaktoboureko Anything else: The French say«ouila», but the Rochesteronianicals say«Voula.» I feel like we should all go to Voula’s tonight. We should«Poula» our resources and see if we can«Foola» cop into giving us a free ride here. Or do what Marty McFly did with the skateboard hanging on to the back of a pick up truck in BTTF. Or something. Rochester Unilocalers are insanely obsessed with this place, like rabid ducks with intestinal infections flying over a golf course. Are they right to be so in love with it? Well on the one hand, yes. On the other two hands, no. Yes I have three hands. On the one hand, the sweets here are *absolutely amazing*, to the extent that I would send people here just to try them. In particular the Chlamydia… oh wait, it’s called Galactic Borat… no, wait, it’s called Galaktoboureko… is one of the most amazing desserts I’ve ever tried. It’s a little heavy but absolutely delicious, and if you like British custard(I’m obsessed with it), you’ll like this. It’s also a little like Baklava, but more custardy. Speaking of custardy. I’m currently in a jail cell. But whatever. At least they have wifi. Did you know that«Moula» is a synonym for money. You won’t spend too much money on the sweets here, but the savoury items can be a tiny bit on the pricy side. Now the negatives. I tried the Gyro and I really, really didn’t like it. I am a fan of Vegan food if it tastes amazing but this Gyro didn’t do it for me by any stretch of the imagination. The other negative for me is that Rochester and the region has quite a few amazing gems, but people will tell you Voula’s is absolutely the #1. It’s definitely on the radar of great places, but I can think of a few dozen that are even more delicious that I would send people to before I’d choose Voula’s. And perhaps most noticeably, it’s very hipster. You can tell with some of the service, a lot of the clientele, and especially the prices of the main courses. It’s right off Monroe(hidden in a little parking lot) with adoable décor and lots of young cute well-dressed people working here. Popular among college kids and fans of things that say«hand crafted» and«artisanal.» You get the idea, dear. If it’s a hot day and your Voula sweets are going to go bad, then just stick them in a «Coula.» The service is really nice though, even if the hours of operation are extremely limited. Another thing that is limited is my p***s size. Actually that is inaccurate. Actually I’m not confirming or denying anything at all about the size of my… oh look! It’s the Goodyear Blimp! Now we all know why the former coach of the Dolphins was so heavy. There was a reason they called him Don«Voula» Shula. If you know what I mean. Somewhere in Miami you can hear the sound of a champagne bottle being opened. So I’m waiting for my mother’s plane to take off(she was visiting for a week from England, now she’s off to Miami), and I can’t think of anything else to say about Voula’s Greek Sweets except that you need to try the Galaktoboureko. And that it’s unlike any other place I’ve seen anywhere else, so it scores full marks for originality for sure. And if you didn’t read this far because you can’t handle long things(mwaha) then I don’t blame you. It might not be your fault. Your family just may not have been very gifted in the Gene Poula. I’m not the kind of person that wil come out and call you a Toola. That would be Cruela. And by the way my favourite city in Ohio beginning with the letter«A» other than Akron, is Ashta-Boula. So there. Ooh that gives me an idea. I could prove my claims in previous reviews about eight inches. All I would need is something to measure it with, such as a Roula. Ooh-la-la.

Voula’s! I love you! I’ve been here a few times and had their pastries sold at Hart’s a few times more, and there is literally not a bad dish to get here. I love the all-vegetarian menu(even though I actually do eat meat), and everything I’ve had was delicious. I’m also not usually the type to have dessert with a meal, but it’s impossible not to here. The dessert case stares at you with its various delicacies while you eat. To seal the deal, the desserts are so reasonably priced I sometimes go a little overboard and try too many things. To top it off, it’s the cutest little set-up in the dining area and even the bathroom. Only somewhat strange thing I’ve encountered is I haven’t been able to tip on a credit card. Luckily I had *some* cash on me, but I always want to make sure I’m giving them what they deserve! Next time I’ll try to ask in advance if I have to pay with a card.

Was told I had to come here for brunch. After a long night out, Voula’s made waking up early and hungover on a Saturday morning bearable and almost pleasant. I ordered the Samos plate which comes with eggs, lemon potatoes, and spanakopita topped with feta and diced tomatoes. The whole meal was out of this world good but the lemon potatoes– oh my god. They are something I will dream about from now on. Another notable dish includes the Monemvassia plate, which is tyropita served with eggs over lentils. While no lemon potatoes(swoon) in the dish, the lentils were great and everything tastes awesome together. I wish I had tried more the first time I came and especially their baklava. I guess I’ll just have to come back again and again and again to try the rest of their menu.

I had an amazing breakfast here the other week. The omelette was delicious and the dip sampler came with some of the best pita bread I’ve ever had. The desserts I got to go were such a hit with the family that there were no leftovers. It’s so rare to find restaurant desserts that don’t taste like shortening and sugar, but everything had it’s own unique flavor and you could tell a lot of care went into everything coming out of the kitchen. My only complaint was the lack of follow-up. I never got my second cup of coffee and our extra pita bread never came. That said everyone was super friendly and I can’t wait to go back.

Oh I am so surprised that I did not like this place at all! Based on the reviews, I had such high hopes and was waiting to be amazed! The interior is so cozy, it is like dining in an oriental house, decorated with a great taste! There were some mouth-watering desserts sitting right in the display case inviting me to devour them! So the first impression was pretty promising! I am not a veggie person, a dish without some sort of meat in it is not a complete dish to me! But I am more than willing to try out new things just for the sake of adventure and I am all for healthy greek– Mediterranean style food. I opted for the Papoutsaki –the eggplant stuffed dish. The eggplant itself was not good at all, I couldn’t bite into it either because the flesh was not scooped out enough prior to stuffing or it was simply not cooked thoroughly. Another downside was that there was too much garlic in it, well beyond my tolerance point! My friends seemed to be just Okay with their foods! My significant other got the Baklava and coffee. We have definitely had better Baklava elsewhere. The nuts were not crushed and the ingredients were each on their own! Not glued together as a Baklava should be! So overall, i wouldn’t be back and I am sad that the experience was not how I had hoped it would be!
