I ordered via Grub Hub. They were listed under a different name: Thai Chi Lunch Box. I should have been more cautious considering how cheap the 3 entrée meal was. I think all 3 meats were boiled and a different sauce was sprinkled on. Then they were crammed on top of one another in a box. The delivery guy practically threw the food at me. I wish I had done a bit of research before ordering. Had I Googled the address, I would have ordered elsewhere.

I tried Yummy Garden tonight and it was the WORST Chinese food experience I’ve ever had. The food was not good, my crab rangoons were HOLLOW! Zero filling, just the outside of the wonton. Egg roll was soggy. The only thing I actually ate a good amount of was the Lo Mein, still sub-par at best… In addition to lousy food, the delivery driver was rude, and I asked for chopsticks in the bag and they were not included. I’m sorry I tried this place and will never order from Yummy Garden again.

I ordered through . The delivery was fast, but the pork fried ice is awful. I can’t pin point what makes it so bad, but I am unwilling to taste it(or finish it) to better provide a description. Sadly, half of my order is in the trash. I wish I had read the reviews before ordering. I am stuck at work on a Saturday, and could not leave to pick up something to eat. I ordered Broccoli with garlic sauce and also General Tso’s chicken. Both were okay. My fault for not looking at reviews first and THEN ordering from the place that was closest to me in hopes they would deliver quickly(WHICHTHEYDID!)! They also forgot my chopsticks. I will, without a doubt, NEVER order from them again.

I think this place was disgusting. The delivery felt like it took forever, definitely over the 45 minutes they estimated. I spent $ 15.00 on mozzarella sticks and sweet and sour chicken, I took two bites of each and threw everything out. The sweet and sour sauce tasted like dipping chicken into grape jelly or something and they didn’t even give me marinara sauce for my mozzarella sticks. they gave me ketchup. like what. I will never go back.

Oh-so mediocre! Must agree with Evan R. that this is the place to go if you absolutely can’t get out of your PJ’s and are ready for some hardcore self-loathing. It’s cheap and fast for both delivery and take-out, but Yummy Garden’s quality has really declined over the years. The crab wontons are greasy, the egg drop soup is too salty, and the meat is always soft and undercooked. What’s more is that they rarely pay attention to special directions such as «extra spicy» or «extra crispy.» I typically take a few bites of my order, put the rest in the fridge, and promise myself never again. Yummy Garden’s prompt service and late hours are a plus, but that’s pretty much it. A phone call to 345 Meigs St. is more like a cry for help.

This is the worst Chinese restaurant in the area! It took over an hour and a half for them to get my order out for delivery and even after 15 mins it still wasn’t at my house. I ended up canceling my order due to the inept management of this restaurant. I will never take my business here again and I will make sure to tell others just how terrible the service was and the young lady who takes the orders needs an attitude adjustment. Every single thing from start to finish was just terrible and they should not operate a restaurant if they cannot do so in a timely and respectful matter. Worst service ever!!!

I was having people over to my place and didn’t want to pick up food, so I ordered food for delivery, and they said it would take about 15 minutes. An hour went by and there was still no food, so I called to check on my order, and they said wait a little more time since they had a bunch of deliveries called in. I waited for another half an hour and called again, and they said they didn’t have my order in their system and didn’t have any verification of my order. Waste of so much time! DONOTORDERFORDELIVERY! GOPICKITUPINSTEAD! If you can’t pick up your order, DONOTBOTHERWITHTHISESTABLISHMENT!

Solid late lunch, 2 combos for 15 bucks plus 2 sodas … Better than your average take out

Very typical, but very accessible and cheap. There’s enough high end places in this area where you’ve got many options if you’re looking for that sort of thing. Yummy Garden is the choice you make when you’re so lazy that you barely want to get off the couch to go and pee. Comfortable in your pajamas you have no intention of changing out of? Binging on bad TV all day? Skipping your workout? Procrastinating? Ready to eat something unhealthy enough to initiate a touch of self-loathing? Why not, at this point, right? You’re looking for Yummy Garden. Food is a notch or two above passable. Delivery is usually prompt. Only complaint I have is that the fried rice is quite mediocre; dry and a bit bland. I usually sub white rice, or I just get an entire quart of General’s chicken, which comes with enough white rice to induce a nap for me anyways. I’ve varied from the norm a couple of times, but I haven’t really enjoyed their«specialty» dishes enough to go back to them. The General’s and Sesame chicken is usually pretty good. It can be a bit inconsistent(sometimes crispier than other times… sometimes more/less sauce), but it’s never bad or foul. Yummy Garden serves is purpose quite well, especially in this area.

Ordered delivery on line, which is a cool option. Food was okay, wouldn’t rave about it. Kinda bland and room temp when it arrived, understandable with delivery. I did order a mu poo tofu dinner and it was mixed with shaved beef!!! Didn’t understand that?! Ummmm and still don’t. Average menu and clearly don’t understand you order meatless items for a reason! Tried it once, and I’m good on that

My suggestion is that the hostile delivery man get a GPS — in his travels to my office and his obvious frustration at not finding the building he would yelled two flights up that I was«f/ing lazy» and«never f/ing order again»… So, skip delivery.

Mainly I go here for convenience. Open and delivers later than most places! The food only«meh» a bit on the greasy side, but fits the bill while working 3rd shift at 1 am. Would not be my first choice if there were other options late night.

I have came here for years and no issues. Cheap and good food and fast ! However last week, i got the coconut shrimp and i got a mild case of food poisoning or something wasn’t cooked right or bad! This is def a place i can not go to again after that. I am going to a diff place now. Plus monroe ave is getting worse by the minute as far as the area. It’s not like it used to be.

Fried rice is a typical staple when I’m ordering from American style Chinese Takeout. As a result, I typically use it as a barometer to determine if a restaurant is worth its salt or not. The rice here is awful and I recommend choosing white rice or substituting with something else. The rice is bright yellow in color and doe not taste good. The shrimp in garlic sauce and crab ragoon were good, but I probably wont be venturing here anytime again in the near future. As mentioned in previous reviews, this is a typical Chinese Takeout joint. I’ve had some pretty awesome cuisine from takeout in the past from other places, but after visiting this place, the search for quality take out shall continue.

If you are completely privy to the fact that you are walking into a hole in the wall Chinese takeout. Then i would hope that anyone would not expect some sort of culinary miracle? You honestly get what you pay for, with no problems. You order your food, you get your food. Im not some piece of inebriated monroe avenue trash with out a fully functional tongue. I taste Chinese food and its pretty good. Recently i went in and asked for beef with orange(an item that happens to not be listed on the menu) and that was absolutely no problem for them.

This food was absolutely disgusting. Everything was oversalted, and the flavors were horrible. I would eat mall chinese food over this. We ordere chicken lo mein, wonton soup, pork dumplings and spring rolls. The spring role was somewhat edible but could do with about ¼ the salt, same with the chicken lo mein. Everything else was inedible, what a waste of food and I’m still hungry. To add to that, when I handed the delivery guy a tip and said thank you with a smile, he did not respond with a thing. I then said stay warm and he had already turned around and was walking down the stairs with no response. Gross alltogether.

We ordered take out tonight. Not the first time we’ve ordered from YG, we’ve eaten from here the last 7 years. They are always fast to deliver and give generous helpings. I normally order sweet and sour chicken so that’s hard to screw up but I ordered curry chicken and it was delicious! My husband ordered King Pow Beef and he enjoyed his as well, the only negative was the peppers were large and over powered the portion. Their crab rangoons were yummy and came with some sweet dipping sauce. I will always choose Yummy Garden as my go-to Chinese take out place!

We have ordered takeout from here a bunch of times. It’s definitely not super high quality Chinese food, but it’s typical takeout with a few good points. They also deliver, which is great. For a while we(husband, brother and I) ordered from them almost weekly. Here’s a summary for each of our frequently ordered items: Yummy Chicken: different than anything we had ever had; chicken can be tough, but flavors are pretty good. Sauce is unique and there’s a spice to it that’s good. Texture of the fried chicken is more like panko breading than other Chinese fried chicken. Veggie Lo Mein: pretty good flavor; not quite as greasy as other places(don’t get me wrong, it’s still greasy). Scallion Pancakes: good; I love getting these and am not super picky about them(to be fair, they’re tough to screw up). Sauce is good. Crab Rangoons: ok, not the best, but satisfying enough Veggie Dumplings: ok; sauce is good. Crispy Sesame Beef: tough beef; more fried stuff than beef, swimming in sauce; not my fav but my brother likes it Sesame Chicken: husband likes it; typical sesame chicken, nothing too special Beef on a Stick: ok, not as good as Shui Asian Fusion Veggie Spring Roll: ok, typical Wonton Soup: not good… too bland; we recommend chef king in Bushnell’s Basin for better broth and noodles in particular.

Yummy Garden is not going to go down as the best Chinese Take out place, ever. Just not going to happen. Somewhere, on some street there is the best take out place ever, I don’t doubt it. But how many of us live near by it? I know I don’t. I do live walking distance from Yummy Garden. Their prices are pretty good, pretty average as most take out places are. I really wish they had tarter sauce for when I ordered fried shrimp but it’s hardly the end of my world. Pretty decent fried, spicy, sweet, crispy, Asiany flavored chicken, beef, pork, rice and noodles and they won’t break the bank. They actually have a few combo’s if your not ordering alon and they give you free dessert if you order over $ 20 of food. I like their fried shrimp with french fries for $ 5 and their sweet and sour chicken/pork also about $ 5. Their wontons and rangoons aren’t great, maybe a half a notch below average. Egg rolls are egg rolly. No complaints about this place, they are pretty quick too. I ordered some food, put on sandals, walked down to the store and they had my food bagged and ready to go! Can’t complain about that!
