I have a front load washing machine that suddenly stopped draining water. I disassembled the machine to get to the drain pump and called Fred’s Appliance repair. I didn’t realize that he could have done diagnostics on the machine before pulling it apart to make sure we weren’t fixing a part that didn’t need fixing, but I was stubborn. He was very kind about explaining this process and proceeded to replace the drain pump. The washer was giving new error messages and Fred was determined to figure out the problem. A return trip was needed and he worked the problem until he fixed it. The sad thing was, it was something I had done when I took the washer apart. He was very gracious about letting me know and I learned a very valuable lesson. Fred was very professional and knowledgeable! He came prepared and explained exactly what he was doing. He even gave me tips on detergent and fabric softener to make my washer work better. He was up front with costs and charged a very fair price. Now THAT’S customer service! I will recommend him to all of my friends. Thank you!

My experience with Fred’s Appliance Repair began with Helen, Fred’s wife, who answered the phone and set me up with an appointment on a Sunday. Helen may be one of the nicest people I have ever spoken to on the phone. She spoke with me at length about the problem I was having with my oven and went out of her way to work around my schedule. Because she and Fred were concerned about a potential problem I could have had with my electric oven, she squeezed me in the following day even though she said Fred had a full schedule. Fred called and arrived the following day, exactly when he said he would. He was very careful about not tracking in dirt on my floors and was able to fix my problem quickly. Not only did Fred save my oven, but he also gave me some helpful tips on how to cook my Thanksgiving turkey and how to properly clean the type of oven I have. I would not hesitate to call Fred again if I ever have another problem. It’s such a relief to find someone trustworthy and reliable to help me maintain my home.

Fred was booked for a week when I called about my dryer. They actually rearranged the order of their calls for the next day to squeeze me in. Fred arrived when he said he would, and after he arrived offered to walk around the back of the house rather than track thru the whole house. He worked quickly and explained not only what he needed to replace but also what we could expect from the rest of the parts on the dryer. Fred had to go pick up the needs part and made an extra trip back after hours the same day to install it. He even showed me how to check the exterior vent for buildup of lint and gave me tips about how much fabric softener to use, to improve the life of the dryer. He vacuumed not only the interior of the dryer but also the surrounding area — it’s an unfinished basement, so plenty of dust and such around, but I certainly would not have expected him to do that.
I wholeheartedly recommend Fred’s Appliance — he was friendly, professional, timely, and more than fair with his charges. I will only be calling Fred in the future for any appliance repairs.
