Shear Renewal Salon

I cannot say enough about this salon! They really go above and beyond to create a relaxing client experience. I have been going to Stephanie for a couple of years and always get a crazy amount of compliments on my cut and color! It is an Aveda salon, and the hair color is amazing! Does not damage your hair at all! I recommend this place to anyone wanting a great salon.

I love this salon! I always walk out feeling like a million bucks! The staff is friendly. The salon is clean and sleek. They have a huge retail display of Aveda products. I love the text messages to remind and confirm my appointments. It’s my favorite day of the month when I visit Heather at Shear Renewal. The salon sits on State St. In between DiTullio’s deli and She She Boutique. I recommend this salon to everyone I know.

I’ve gone to Shear Renewal a few times, for both cuts and colors. The reason for the five stars other than the great cuts and color? The customer service.
I had gone in a few times before to get my hair colored (to a near white blonde) and decided that it was time to go more natural. My usual stylist, Jackie, did a great job bringing it down to a more natural shade, but I was unsatisfied with the look and color. This stemmed from the fact that I really didn’t communicate the look I was going for and stylists are not mind readers.
When Jackie realized that I was unhappy, she was more than accommodating and booked me in for the next day to fix it (since she was booked out the rest of the current day).
The next morning, she and another stylist talked me through my options (showing me different swatches, pro’s and con’s of different techniques, etc) and I came out with an amazing color that was everything I had hoped for. At any other salon they would’ve refused to do it, but Jackie did such a wonderful job that I will absolutely go back to her again. I would recommend her to anyone!
The salon itself is great — a very open, relaxing atmosphere. The music is never too loud, and the staff is extremely professional. They do carry all Aveda products which is a must for sensitive hair!
After having gone to several other salons in the area, this is the one that I’ve had the best experience with. The entire staff is dedicated to making sure you walk out of the salon feeling great and looking great — and if you’re not satisfied they go out of their way to make sure you are. Would definitely recommend!

Nice salon. Nice atmosphere. Quality staff. Recommended it to family member who is super picky & she liked it too. They did a great job on both of our cuts & colors. Different $ pending stylist. I have found my new salon.

Ya’ll. So. My brother is getting married next week and my mother and I wanted to do some test runs with our hair and makeup. This is the deal. My mom got her hair done by Heather who was so sweet and very easy to talk to and my mom told her how she wanted her hair and Heather did exactly what she wanted, but like 10 times better. It was GORgeous. My hair was done by Holly who is so sweet and real and she did my hair in a modern beehive with a French twist (think Amy Winehouse or Adele) and I asked her if it would hold because I’mma dance ALL night at this wedding. She assured me it would. Ya’ll. I went bowling that night AND crashed on my brother’s couch and it is now a full 27 hours later AND MY HAIR IS STILL PERFECTLY IN PLACE. I have super thick hair and it’s barely to my shoulders so this is nothing short of a miracle.
We also had our make up done by Jaci who asked and took into account what we wanted done and I love some of the liberties she took. My cat eyes were super dramatic and my already big eyes popped the way she did my eye shadow. And my mom looked unbelievable. Easily 15 years younger. Again, it is 27 hours later, and my make-​up is still fresh looking. I like ran errands all morning and afternoon and didn’t need to touch anything up.
This place is great. So happy we found it. I am super excited for the wedding and the pictures and the dancing knowing I won’t once have to touch up ANYTHING. I emphatically recommend this salon.
