Came down from San Antonio and all I can say is how sad it is that we don’t live here! When you exit your car you’re greeted by a delicious smokey fragrance in the air, a precursor to the epic meal you’re about to enjoy! Walk in and the staff instantly makes you feel like family, upon their recommendation I tried the po boy, chopped meat, sausage and brisket stacked high on a six inch hoagie slathered in sauce finished off with onions and pickles. Bacon mashed potatoes and the Mac and cheese were my sides of choice, and really you can’t go wrong with any pick. Everything is home Made and fresh. Again I’m sad that we’re a couple hours from this place but it just gives us another reason to come back.

The poor boy is soooo good, best deal in the house for what you get. My husband didn’t really like the turkey sandwich but I think he was expecting lettuce and tomato(I told him it wasn’t a deli… lol). He ended up eating half my poor boy and we were BOTH full and happy. I’d recommend the poor boy to anyone.

Place is solid. Got the brisket plate $ 10.50. Generous portion and tasty. Slaw and berms were good too. Staff was friendly and the place was clean. It’s 12:00 and not slammed inside. I’ll be back.

Looooooong day at the beach + 1 baby &2 toddlers = no restaurant dinner for us. But where to go in Rockport that serves takeout that is *not* fast food or pizza? Eureka! Macs Pit was great choice! BBQ wasn’t life changing or anything but I thought it was really good! We got the family meal with chopped beef & turkey as our meat choices and mac & cheese & potatoes as our sides and all were good. No complaints from anyone in our group. Also, at like $ 8.00 a person I thought it was a decent value as well. I can see us coming back here again!

Just picked up 4 Chopped beef sandwiches, they were virtualy served cold, were kind of bland not much texture to the meat and not enough pickles and onions served to maybe save them, Don’t know what happened but, if this is what they generally serve for chopped beef, stay away from it, 5.95 is way too high for this low a quality. I have had many different meats and they have bee fairly good.

Brisket was roast beef not BBQ. Pork ribs were very tough, but had a good smoke ring. Very disappointing considering this is Texas and generally has great BBQ.

Great BBQ! I got both pork ribs and brisket, both was cooked just right. Their sauce is pretty good also. Their mashed potatoes has pieces of bacon in them! Can’t go wrong there!!! They also pile your plate so you are for sure getting your money’s worth.

Chopped BBQ beef sandwich — so juicy and good. The brisket — very big portion. Thursday special included it, 2 sides, and a drink. Mac, you’re the man!

We came here because of the Unilocal reviews… Unilocal did not do us wrong! This place was DELICIOUS. We fed our family of 8 for $ 42! The brisket was so tender and delicious, so was the chicken, flavorful and Smokey and all things wonderful. Very friendly and gracious staff. This will be our new go-to place in Rockport!

Good BBQ! Consistent and pretty clean. A good go to spot for Rockport. I took away a star because there can be flies around and it isn’t always the cleanest. But overall I recommend this place.

Family came here while on vacation. I’m from SA so I’m used to Rudy’s BBQ and to me this was just as yummy. With a family of 5 and eating a well portioned dinner, we had a great meal at a great price. I would definitely come here again.

While on vacation(yes, I actually took one) with TheBetterHalf® and TheKiddo™ in the Port Aransas area, we were looking around for some grub. Knowing that TheKiddo™ is always a fan of smoked fare, we thought we’d drive the short distance to Rockport and give Mac’s a try. We figured if all the reviews were so good, we would be okay. Sadly, we were far from okay. Upon arrival, we parked and trooped inside to place our order at the counter. Meats looked tempting and the sides were steaming. All seemed right with the world. In hindsight, we should have known we were in for severe disappointment when we didn’t smell smoke on the way into the restaurant. I suppose at the time we just chalked it up to the sea breezes and the salty air. We ordered a brisket po-boy with macaroni and cheese, and mashed potatoes; and a rib plate with macaroni and cheese, corn on the cob, and potato salad. TheBetterHalf® and I figured TheKiddo™ would eat some of the macaroni and cheese, and the corn. Sadly we were mistaken. There was decent crust on the meats from smoking. That was as deep as the enjoyment went. The rubs were fairly bland, and the smoke didn’t seem to have permeated very deep – the pink layer underneath the crust was thin and pale. This meant some rather chewy hunks of unseasoned beef and pork were sitting on our plates. Attempting to make use of the sauce was disastrous. It reminded me of a slightly thicker version of the sauce that comes in the little packets at Arby’s. Neither TheKiddo™ nor I would eat much of the brisket or ribs. I never realized such a possibility existed. The sides were also a letdown. The macaroni and cheese was watery and TheKiddo™ couldn’t be coaxed to have more than one spoonful. The corn was devoid of both salt and pepper. The potato salad had both too much mustard and too much pickle relish to the point of being inedible. And the mashed potatoes were simply bland. On the way back to our hotel room(as we pined for our beloved Baker’s Ribs in Deep Ellum), we stopped at H.E.B. to grab some snacks in order to stave off any hunger pangs during the night.

Some of the best BBQ at the coast! Right off 35 on Market street. Tender delicious brisket, great sausage, beans and coleslaw. Their sauce is very good, I will have to pick up a bottle when I am down there again.
