My hubby, son and I had lunch here and it was great! My son really enjoyed the Sicilian pizza(it was so big he had leftovers which he ate cold). I ordered the seafood asparagus which was crab meat, shrimp and scallops in a pink sauce. It was so good and the portion was huge.

I thought the food was good, had been here 2 or 3 times before. The last time I came, I ordered pasta for lunch. I see their menu on Unilocal says the past a is $ 8. I get there and they hand me a bill for $ 10.60. I tell the women at the cash register that I thought the pasta was $ 8 and that was the price I had seen online. She doesn’t do much to verify it other than show me a store menu. Just to be clear the dinner menu does have the same pasta for around 11 while the lunch menu online(ONTHEIR Unilocal) is DEFINITELY8. I ordered before their lunch service was over. I SHOULDHAVEBEENCHARGED8. I sent a private message to this restaurant through their Unilocal page hoping to settle this matter without making my concerns public but it is now over a week later and I was never given a response. This shows me a lack of customer care. The receipt that I signed and was given did not have the item that I bought and paid for, just the dollar amount. This is not a new business, they should know their lunch prices and dinner prices for a common item. I really hope they just screwed up and did not do this on purpose but my gut feeling tells me they are doing this to pocket money for themselves… it just really seems too fishy to me. Either way because of a lack of customer care from my in person visit and online interactions and because I was charged more than I should have even though I questioned it in person, I have to give this place a 1 star. You may have cost me only 2 bucks more than what I actually should have been charged but you will never see another cent from me again, definitely not coming back. In the future if a customer has a concern over his or her receipt spend some time verifying things with them, don’t just nod you head and tell them, «Nope, that’s the price»

I have ordered from the Silver Spring location numerous times without issue and have always adored the food. By comparison, I lack the eloquence to truly describe my disappointment with the overall results from the Shady Grove Road location. I have ordered delivery from this location at least 4 times in the last 2 months and I am officially discontinuing my patronage. More than once, I have been overcharged, more than once I have received the wrong order, or missing item, among other frustrations, but this review is specific to my experiences TODAY. PART I I ordered: 1MOZZARELLACAPRESE($ 10.00) 1SIDEGREEKSALAD w/Grilled Chicken($ 12.25) 1 Gingerale($ 2.25) My Subtotal was $ 22.25 My Delivery Charge was $ 3.00 My Sales Tax(6.000%) was $ 1.34 My total $ 26.59 I also used a coupon code online that would take $ 5.00 of a $ 25.00 order*. *NOTE: «Order online, or stop by today to enjoy $ 5 off your order of $ 25 or more. To redeem, enter the coupon code DAD2016 during online checkout or show this offer to your server when placing your order in store. Valid for online or dine in food purchases only at location listed below through June 19, 2016. One offer per party per visit.» When my order arrives, the coupon code is listed on the receipt, but has not been reflected on the amount. When I review my total, an additional $ 7.00 was added to my account for a total charge of $ 33.59 I have not yet added the tip… and gratuity isn’t automatically added, where did the additional charge come from? PARTII My salad has no salad dressing, there are no napkins, and there is no plastic ware to eat the salad with. I call the manager to explain the overcharge, the coupon code that didnt work, and that I have no dressing and he’s says that he’ll adjust the bill to reflect the $ 7.00 that was added to my salad for no reason, but he cannot do anything about the coupon code because he cannot see the coupon, by the way… the coupon code was printed very clearly at the top of my receipt which I explained. Still fighting the coupon, he then offers to resend a salad or «whatever I wanted.» I then explained that I don’t need more food, I just need the credit and dressing and maybe bread for the Mozarella Caprese, and he adds a cheese cake. Fine. PARTIII 20 minutes later a new salad with dressing, bread, and cheesecake has arrived. I open the bread, there are four pieces and every last piece is hard as a rock.(This is unusual– the bread is meant to be soft). Disappointed that the bread was not soft enough to eat with the Caprese, I threw it away and proceeded to open my Mozarella Caprese and found the thickest, strongest, long, black HAIR resting on a mozarella slice. I spent over $ 30 plus tip on a meal that I did not eat and didn’t even call them back because at this point I doubt they would even believe me and would think that I just wanted more food. I showed my co-worker who confirmed the very obvious hair. This has been a Murphy’s Law experience. I WILLNEVEREVEREVERORDERFROMTHISRESTAURANTAGAIN. Additionally, a soda in a paper cup with no ice… is NOT worth $ 2.25. You guys still owe me $ 5.00 from a previous order I was overcharged on. If could give this place no stars, I would. Update: Bank Statement shows they charged me $ 40.49. So essentially I paid for the food that was resent for my incomplete order.

Amazing first time dining experience! Donna, our waitress, was exceptional! She really took care of us and couldn’t have been more friendly or helpful. The food was outstanding. Fresh, delicious, large portions — enough for lunch the next day! This is a really top notch restaurant, without question.

I like going here for lunch. I either get their slice or the calzone. It’s reliable and dependable.

The worst Italian food ever!!! the garlic bread, two sandwich slices of bread with garlic butter. Are you Kidding!!! You should be ashamed to call yourself ’ Mama Lucia’s’??? For heavens sake, you’re supposed to be a Italian restaurant: Cook like it!!!

I grew up on this stuff… and it hits the spot every time when you’re craving some Italian comfort food. Just tried the mussels for the first time ever and YUM. In my quest to find the most delicious mussels in Maryland, these are up there. Super convenient that they deliver. And don’t worry — they still give you that delicious bread when you order delivery /to go. Chicken Brunello is a great pasta dish here! And the white pizza with… anything… HELLO! Try it. They’ve got some great deals on Mondays and Tuesdays, too.

Great food and service! The bread is addictive. The pasta is a bit on the pricey side but the pizza is amazing!

Took off a star for the salad which I’ll talk about in a second. We came at lunch for a take out pizza and side salad. The pizza was delicious as it always is: crispy thin crust and delicious sauce and cheese. But then there was this overpriced salad with about 10 lettuce leaves and two cucumber slices… FOR $ 4.50! They can do better than this! One more gripe after we started eating we noticed this was NOT extra cheese even though we paid for it.

Was fair to update this review to 4 stars. Grilled chicken cesar salad is very good, and overall a nice place. Other comments on original review still apply, but I’ve been coming here pretty consistently when I travel and it is a go to place for me so 4 stars is more appropriate.

I’ve been doing take out pizza from here for years. Definitely my favorite thin crust pizza. Who knew they had personal size pizzas for $ 8. Just the right portion for one person(about the size of two slices) We recently discovered the bar area. The orange crushes definitely reminded me of the beach. Loved it! Will be coming back for HH again.

A good place to load up on carbs and dig into pasta and pizza! It’s a solid good place for family dining with weekday specials. Glad they have a separate bar with full liquor and even have happy hour specials. Perhaps our go to place in Fallsgrove(I miss living in Kentlands!). They have a personal size pizza for $ 8 too. So if no one in your group wants to eat pizza, order personal size! The food doesn’t wow you or disappoint either. Service is good and glad to see white tablecloth and the free bread and addicting garlic/parm/olive oil dipping sauce. Come here if craving for pasta(come Monday), pizza(take home special and freeze the rest), and dine Wednesday if you want half price bottles of wine, or happy hour too.

The food is great but fairly overpriced for the quality. I carry out during pasta or pizza specials. I once had an egg shell in my carbonara. There is something missing in the décor and overall ambience. Dinner go to’s– White Pizza Carbonara

my family has been coming here for years to enjoy their italian specialties which include homestyle pastas and pizzas. on my most recent visit, dad decided that he had a craving for pizza so he ordered an 18″ veggie pizza($ 24.50) which included mushrooms, onions, green peppers, black olives, spinach, tomatoes and roasted red peppers on a medium-thickness crust. he ate 3 slices by himself, while mom and i split just one thin slice(we didn’t have appetites as hearty as dad nor did we have a cheese and crust craving that day). the pizza was pretty average, veggies + mozzarella + crust, nothing out of the ordinary. mom, seeing that she’d have to help dad with his pizza, only ordered a minestrone soup($ 6.50), which was chock full of stewed italian vegetables. this went perfectly with the complimentary tomato brushed bread that was brought to our table before our entrees were ready. for myself, i ordered a garden salad plus grilled salmon($ 14). with the supplement of a half slice of pizza and two slices of their savory tomato brushed bread, i knew that i’d have enough to fill my tummy for this meal. the salad was pretty fresh, with lots of colorful veggies, and the chicken was added in generous portion. service was pretty standard, as our orders were taken in a timely manner, and food brought out in a matter of minutes. generally a good place to come with your family, small or large, with lots of menu options for everyone. but in my opinion, the food is just average, without any notable standout dishes. located in the falls grove shopping center, this mamma lucia is very convenient to 270& shady grove rd. note that they have other locations in the greater d.c. area.

The service was 5 stars but it was cold. It was raining and the ac was on but overall good service. The runners were on point, refills, more bread more anything it was done in a hurry. I only go to Mammas on Mondays for their pasta deals. This time I got mushroom ravioli in a Marsala cream sauce it was good! I wanted to make room for dessert so my Caesar salad was packed to go. I got a cannoli, it was good but I was cheated out of a strawberry on top of my cannoli! :(I saw the other table has theirs with one. Who knows but my waitress was Stephanie and she’s great in fact each time we go we always get her section. Only thing I ask for is to switch the ac to heat please! It’s December!

My company orders catered lunch from Mamma Lucia and its always on point! We usually order the greek salad, penne vodka pasta(so so SO good!!! I highly recommend this pasta entrée), veggie pizza, margherita pizza, and the mamma special pizza. For the pizza, we order the 18inch pizzas and the slices are huge! Everyone is always super pleased with the food! Plus, they always deliver on time! The most recent time though, they didn’t provide any plates, utensils, or catering spoons/forks so that was kind of inconvenient :(Make sure to ask for them in advance! Overall, we always enjoy the food here and we will continue to order from here!

My parents were in town staying at the nearby Hilton Garden Inn and decided to take home a large cheese pie(about $ 18). The portion size was good but the cheese did not hold together very well(the pie was lacking that little white plastic table/stabilizer thing, which I did not believe really did anything until now). Service was reasonably fast(15 min for a fresh pizza) and ML does beat out some of the other local pizza places(looking at you, Jerry’s Subs).

We met Rita, our server extraordinaire. She made the visit worthwhile. If she is working when you go, ask for her section. We met the owner. Nice guy. Thinks he’s running a small trattoria. The place is large and noisy. We were able to sit on the side where at least we could hear each other. Food is old style Italian. Pasta noodles was soft and sauce was borderline poor to fair. It is a big place as I mentioned and they push out the food. Delivery was timely.

I have no clue why this place is even called an Italian restaurant. Stick to the Mama Lucia on 355. Better service and way better food! Con’s –Greasy, oily, no flavor pasta –Rushed service to get you in and out –The bill was placed on the table before even asking if we would like dessert –When asking for a dish recommendation, waiter of course points out the two most expensive entrée in the house. Really? It’s Mama Lucia! I’m not paying $ 25 for something your thawing out over night –Was served Costco tasting blue cheese on a salad… so gross –Order the pasta e fagioli soup for a vegetarian which was described as a bean soup with pasta. Surprise! There was meat in it! Seriously?! Pro’s –Stick to the pizza, bread, and dip. you can’t go wrong there! Would not visit again!

What a great, quick, white table cloth dining experience! Our server Lorraine was off the chain in a fantastic way. Her personality, attentiveness. & table service made the breaking of the bread so enjoyable. She was very proactive with the allergens needs and knew the menus and wine paring like the back of her hand. My sister had a glass of Chianti with her shrimp & crabmeat pasta with a pretty pink sauce that she consumed with a heavy hand :-) I had the fresh veggie(green peppers, tomatoes, spinach, & tomatoes) primavera with gluten free pasta, sautéed in olive oil & fresh garlic. I had to add my own seasoning to spruce it up a tad bit, but overall it was so delicious. The portions were very large, that’s always an extra benefit. Lorraine packaged my take home goodies like a whole new meal. Even the Operational Manager stopped by our table to inquire how the food & service was, even with full occupancy. I’ll will be back & will always request her. It’s down the street from my office, so a quick journey for a great meal. On the way out a «seasoned» gentlemen(perhaps one of the owners) asked how my dinner was & helped me with my jacket…& demanded I come back soon. True old school Italian exchange.
