Phở is good. Only thing is pricey for the little portion you get. I come here when I’m too lazy to drive to the ‘other Phở’. Recommend they be less stingy with the portions to get repeat business more regularly.

Flavorful broth. Quick service. One of my favourite phở places in moco.

When my brother says this is the last place in the Rockville area he hasn’t tried their banh mi, I couldn’t resist but come here so we Really get down to deciding where(in the Rockville area) was the best banh mi. Let me just tell you that the Unilocal reviews scared me(even before going) and the empty restaurant during prime lunch hours freaked me out even more, especially coming from someone that has grown up with legit Vietnamese food — homemade and IN Vietnam. But let’s not compare to either of those. — Phở(sorry, I forgot which name this restaurant called it) — Soup was hot, big helping of noodles and meat, although bean sprouts on the side were a bit sparse. — «Classic» Banh Mi — I don’t know what a «classic» sandwich means, usually I pick from the Vietnamese names, but how was the sandwich you ask? The bread was thick and fat but toasted and crispy. It was stuffed to the brim with meat and veggies. I loved it. I was so shocked by the courteous staff and fast service, that I was a little speechless. I’ll def be back!

Phở & Rolls. Simple name, simple place. The summer rolls were okay, nothing noteworthy. The phở was pretty decent, better than Phở Nomnom, I’d say. The service was sweet and attentive, which was very nice. I wouldn’t go out of my way, but I would go back if I find myself in the Rockville Town Center area. I’m curious to see what the other roll offerings are like.

The thing about phở is that only two things matter: flavor and price. Exceptional flavor can make up for some fairly high prices for phở, but let’s be real, you can only get so much flavor with the same elements in broth. The ONLY thing that would really knock up a phở’s price is if the noodles were also of exceptional quality, as with hand-drawn noodles. Of course, nobody reasonable would expect that kind of noodle. Anyways, the flavor was average and the price was unreasonably high. Our table of three all agreed that the soup had no flavor, and the rolls were decent but unremarkable. The place has good atmosphere and a good location, but neither of these are going to get many points in my book for a phở place. I’d rather have a kind of run-down hole-in-the-wall with flavor-packed broth than a fancy establishment with soup made from beef powder any day.

I am completely new to Phở and so have not fully ventured out with the menu as yet. So far I have only had the spring rolls at this location, but I like it — with rice they are very small, but without the rice, the rolls are a bigger size. It still fills me up. I will try something different the next time I go. Location and Staff are great here.

I really liked their shrimp spring rolls. Their Thai ice tea was standard, and I mean that in a good way. Reliable phở, and as good as phở gets, I believe. The service was prompt, as well.

I am not feeling well today. I could go into details but no one really wants to know so I will get on with my experience. Thank goodness for Unilocal because all I wanted to do was order some soup and bring it home… but I saw in reviews that there was a charge for each item you ordered to go… so I put on some pants and brushed my teeth and walked across the street. It is 8pm and not busy. One table of 2 and 2 people waiting for carry-out. Immediately I was greeted by Sarah who offered any table to me. I saw this huge table right up front next to the picture window with seating for 8 and asked if I could have it. My gluttony was repaid each time the door was opened with a huge blast of cold air. My fault entirely but I did not want to cough for the whole restaurant. When Sarah came back to take my drink order in less than 30 seconds I monopolized the next 2 minutes with questions… 1. Do you have free wifi? «I will give you the password» 2. Are your sodas($ 2) fountain or cans? «Both» 3. Are there free refills on fountain? «No» 4. Do any of your drinks come with free refills? «No» 5. Do any of your rolls come with the fish sauce or all with the peanut sauce? «Only #1&2 come with peanut sauce. The rest are a fish sauce based or sweet dipping sauce» 6. What do you recommend? «#1 summer rolls and #6&7 because they are the owner’s family recipe and I just tried them and they are really good» 7. Which one is fried? «#10 pork spring rolls» So I ordered the Large Phở #1 with eye of round($ 9.50), the fried spring rolls($ 5.50), and a large sprite with no ice because when you are sick you need 7-up. The spring rolls were huge and mostly pork. Very flavorful and 5 stars. The phở had just enough noodles and a very good amount of beef. The mint was fresh but I am used to getting a giant mound of bean sprouts. The broth was hot albeit not burn your tongue burning but it did cook my bean sprouts. I am NOT a phở broth expert so I cannot say that this was great or not but it was tasty. I added the rest of my fish sauce dipping sauce, some siracha, black pepper and I was ready to go! Sarah came back and checked on me two more times. Three more couples walked in and there were 2 more carry-out orders. Not bad in the span of one hour on a Monday night. Seriously, service was stellar. The springs were fantastic. The phở was good but there could have been more. With the upcharge of soda and the«no refills’, I am dropping the review to a 4. But I will be back to try the other rolls. Yum!

My family and I have a personal rule when it comes to phở. Never eat phở at a place that doesn’t have a number after it(i.e, Phở 75)…because it’ll suck. I know, at this point, you’re clicking the PM button, or the«compliment» button to tell me how wrong I am, because the super great phở place next to your house, «Phở You» or whatever cutesy pun name they opted for, has the«best phở eveeeeeeer». I will call bullshit, because if you look around the restaurant, you will note that the only diners there are non-Vietamese. I don’t care about popularity… I care about the broth. So, when Phở & Rolls opened up, my husband and I weren’t too excited to try it. However, one cold evening, we decided that we wanted hot soup and since we were already in the Rockville Town Center, we wandered in. We weren’t wrong. The phở broth was weak. I know, many of you are like«shut up, you suck, their broth is the bestestest». Clearly, we need to stop being friends, because you don’t know what flavor is. Let’s just say — the broth was so weak that my husband went up to the front counter and ASKEDFOR A DISHOFFISHSAUCE for his phở. Yes, that’s how bland it was. HOWEVER…the ROLLS. Good lord. That is where this place really wins for us. There are 11 different rolls, and we ended up ordering… almost all of them. They were *delicious*! The beef with lemongrass was tangy but not overpowering. The grilled pork was tender and succulant. The one roll with the pickled veggies was so crisp and refreshing that I wanted to order another one(I didn’t…only because I couldn’t remember which one it was, and I was too busy eating to try to figure it out). It was great! So my family’s rule against non-numbered phở joints still stand(don’t eat the phở), however, I was delighted(and stuffed) from the non-phở offering here!

I finally decided to try this place with my friend and we came on a afternoon on the weekend. There was almost nobody there and it was pretty chill. You pay for your food first. The prices are noticeably more expensive than other phở places although I do understand there is probably high rent in such a prime location. This restaurant does take credit cards which is really awesome because most phở places only take cash. As for the phở, I thought it tasted decent. The ambiance was pretty nice and relaxing. I wish they had a self serve fountain soda considering that other casual restaurants in the town center has it.

1. good location 2. I agree that it is a bit expensive 3. Good Phở and good rolls(very authentic) 4. There is usually only one person serving but very timely. I spent $ 14 and that is a bit high especially for 2 rolls and Phở. You go up to the window and get a table with interesting silver wear.

First visit was really good. We came to downtown to eat at another Vietnamese restaurant but thought the prices were too high to finger food. We ended up here, thankfully. The space is bright, clean and inviting. We wanted spring rolls and sandwiches and didn’t try the Phở although it looked and smelled really good. The pork spring rolls were a large enough to serve as a meal. Flavorful, slightly spicy with a fresh taste and crunch. The pork in lemongrass rolls were very good too. Again, very flavorful and served smoking hot. The beef sandwich was served on a fresh baguette style roll with a flaky crust. The beef was flavorful through and through, fresh and pickled veggies shine with bright rice vinegar acidity and was only better with the hot chili sauce. Food for two adults and drinks came to $ 21 plus tip. It was a bargain and worth every penny.

Jury duty eats, chapter 2. Service was fairly friendly at the counter, and the wait for our food to emerge was staggered to serve phở before sandwich. Other than the scallion garnish, the amount of accompanying veg is on the conservative side. A small bowl of phở is reasonable for a light appetite, but the broth is light enough to not impress. Classic banh mi was on the boring side with primarily ham, balanced veg but light on head cheese and day-old bread. Summer rolls are alright: includes both pork and shrimp, and decently sized with the standard peanut dipping sauce. Cafeteria layout dressed up to MoCo standards. As for the inevitable comparison, below Eden Center standards on both entrée fronts. I’d be back to try their buns, other rolls, and maybe a different turf meat on their banh mi.

I wished I loved it, it’s so close to my apartment, but eh. It’s OK, but not great. I’m pretty sure they use Pacific Foods Vegetarian Phở Soup Base for their veggie bowl. Boo! I can do that at home! When I go out to eat, I order things I can’t/don’t want to cook for myself at home. The veggie eggrolls were OK. I was super pleased to find real soy milk(not the US standard cow-milk like product) in the cooler. I’m sure I’ll be back just because it’s so close and they have soy milk. Next thing to try: summer rolls and bubble teas when it warms up. The servers were friendly and attentive(even though it’s an «order at the counter and get a table number» kinda place) and if you tell them you’re sharing a large, they bring you an extra bowl and silverware!

I’ve had quite a few bowls of Phở in my life, and I’ve had better. What threw me off was the broth. The place was nice but with a name like Phở & Rolls your phở needs to be really good in order to keep me coming back. The phở, to me, tasted like it was not their premier item but just one of those things that you order before dinner.

My partner and I attempted to go to 2 Phở places to suffice my craving for a huge steamy bowl of Phở — and both places were packed. We decided to try this place out because it was close by and at this point — we were starving and just ready to eat. Immediately upon walking in during prime time dinner, it was dead. You go to the counter and order, and have the food brought out. The service was good. The prices were a little higher than average, I assume it’s because it’s located in a town center. The food came out quick. We ordered fresh shrimp spring rolls, deep fried Vietnamese spring rolls, and two bowls of Phở. I got the beef ball and tripe. My partner got the meat combination. Sadly, the soup was bland and tasted like water. I was so disappointed. The meats were good, and pretty generous. But the soup itself was just plain awful. The deep fried pork spring rolls were good. The fresh rolls were too minty and the peanut sauce wasn’t topped with peanuts — which is the part I look forward to. We will not be coming back again. It just wasn’t worth it. Next time, we will suck it up and wait for a table at our usual place.

I like the décor here and the smell doesn’t get onto your clothes. Came here during lunch, and it was pretty crowded. They only had one guy serving and clearing all the bowls, drinks and tables. Felt bad for the guy. They need more help especially during the busy lunch hour. I always order the same phở(Chin and Nam). The small bowl is really small compared to other phở joints. Make sure you order the larger size if you’re really hungry. The broth is okay, but not as flavorful as Phở Nam or Phở 95 and they don’t give you much noodles. The spring rolls are good though. Place is good though for RTS.

Second visit to check for consistency. Brandon the checkout guy is still a sweetheart as he was last time. We ordered sandwiches again, the regular and grilled chicken – and found that it didn’t taste as warm and fresh as the first visit. The first time we went, the bread was straight out of the oven, and meat was warm – this time cold, and felt like there was less flavor. The key complaint is that pâté was put in our sandwiches again when requested to omit, and this has been an error 4 times.(Last time they also put hot peppers which I didn’t want, making it über spicy.) I’m glad I wasn’t allergic or this wasn’t a religious observance, because this would be a crucial mistake to repeat if I were. We tried the spring rolls this time(summer rolls #1 on menu), and they were good and fresh, but the dip was not good. Usually a nutty crunch to the sauce, this one was too liquidy and had no real peanut flavor. Phở soup — the large is a lot better with the noodle to soup ratio. I appreciated this. Only other qualm is that our drink never came out and we had to remind them twice. Overall, today’s food was OK compared to our amazing 1st time stop.

Good PHO. I went first on the 2nd day they were open. They were still working out the kinks so I came back in July to give it another try. First time the soup was luke warm and the coffee was excellent. Second time the soup was perfect but the iced coffee was awful. Broth was flavorful, noodles were good, condiments were fresh. The place looked nice inside and was very clean, being new. FIRST time I got a large #1 with Tenderloin(instead of Tai) because I have never seen that option at a Phở place before. Had to try it, it cost a couple bucks more. Most of the tenderloin was very tender and flavorful. A good bit of it was chewy, though. I could see tendon/fat mixed in with the bright red lean tenderloin. I’ll try it again, though. The broth was not hot enough to cook my vegetables or the meat. They came by a couple times to ask how things were, I mentioned the broth temperature and they promised it would be hot next time(it was). My bean sprouts were still crisp when I had finished my soup. As most Phở fans know, the broth is usually served scalding hot and then you know everything is cooked and the meat is safe to eat. Bowl of soup could have been filled to the brim, was about ¾″ below the rim. Iced coffee was large and excellent! SECOND time I got a large #1 with eye round and it was very good. Broth a tad bland, but nice and hot and they gave a lot of meat which was appreciated. On the 2nd visit the Iced coffee was awful. It seemed like the counter guys were struggling with all the drinks a bit. The iced coffee was a dark cloudy mix that did not have enough condensed milk to make it sweet. I only drank half of it. Wasn’t that cold either. I saw a Bahn Mi come out which looked pretty good. Price for a large soup and iced coffee was just under $ 13. That is on the high side for PHO in the area and the quality doesn’t live up to the higher price. Overall, a nice addition to Rockville town center. It’s not the best PHO in town, but its pretty good and they have a nice menu selection.

I really loved Primo Italiano when they were in this location, so I had high hopes that the new replacement would be an equal trade. Today was the perfect day for phở– cool, grey, and blah outside. Instead of going to our regular phở places, we decided to hit up the grand opening of PNR. Walking up the first thing I noticed is that they didn’t have a sign up yet– unless you count the cardboard make-shift sign in the window. Hopefully they are just waiting for it to arrive. Inside is nice, not elaborate, but definitely far nicer than the average phở joint. You go to the counter to place your order, they had a little bit of trouble figuring out how the cash register worked, and rang us up for an extra phở– which we caught about 10 min later while trying to figure out how our bill ended up being $ 40. They took the extra phở off the bill, but we’re not terribly apologetic about it. We got 3 rolls– a shrimp fresh roll, a vegetarian fresh roll, and a spring roll. They were rather thin, but the shrimp was very fresh, and overall it tasted good. We also got 2 bowls of phở– meatball and one with flank and other stuff. Again, it was pretty decent, but I have had better. I think the broth at Phở Nom Nom is more flavorful, but you get more quantity(noodles and meat) here for the price. They were nice enough to give my daughter a small bowl of broth when we realized she wanted some but we had both already made our bowls mega spicy. At the end of the meal– one of the waiter brings over a bubble tea and places it in front of me.(We had not ordered one) My first thought was–«How nice! They are making up for charging us wrong!” — but since he didn’t SAY anything when he put it down– I said«Is complimentary? I didn’t order it» — he immediately comes over, picks it up and walks away. Then he, and the manager look at each other in confusion about who it was supposed to go to. And it sat on the counter for a few minutes looking abandoned– because we left– and I don’t know what became of it. Anyway, I definitely will be back to test out their bubble tea and Bahn Mi — but in the future, if I’m in the mood for phở, I think I’ll stick to my regular joints.
