Bad food and TERRIBLE wait staff. Our waiter was nice enough and did a good job but on our way to our table, on our way out and on my walk to and from the bathroom during dinner I was bumped into or cut off by the other wait staff at least 4 times! I couldn’t believe it when one of the waiters actually knocked into me and kept on going without even a blink of the eye. I waited tables for a long time and ALWAYS made sure I gave way to customers walking through the restaurant. On top of that the food was not great by any means. Will not be going back anytime soon!

I’ve been here twice for late night happy hours. The specials are great if you can catch them, but I wasn’t very impressed by the rest of the menu and wouldn’t come here otherwise. Tower Oaks is located in an odd spot that isn’t near other retail development. The biggest draw of this place is its size. It has a ton of seating spread out over multiple rooms so you’ll almost always find a spot to sit(parking may be trickier if it’s busy). The oysters are a decent late night deal at $ 15 for a dozen, although I’ve seen $ 1 oysters elsewhere in the area. The wings and artichoke dip were also delicious. I’ve tried the chicken and dumplings and meats off of the regular dinner menu too — the meats were okay, but the chicken and dumplings was an embarrassingly tiny portion than the smaller than my hand.

I came here I must say friendly environment friendly customers, bartenders, you name it ! The food is just amazing ! I’ve ordered oysters bartender told us about the half off oysters. so I went for it, yum. I’ve ordered a crab cake sandwich. And the mini crab tower it tastes like sushi. when I first came here lights were like Christmas lights. Spacial place. We sat at the bar closest to the main door a lot of seatings. I’ll be back.

This is our neighborhood bar and we love it. With few exceptions the service is exceptional. It is a historic oak lodge with multiple rooms, including one with stuffed taxidermy and one with a cool chainsaw sculpture. I can never do that place justice with a description but every one I bring wants to go back. Happy hour is a big draw with $ 2.70 drinks and yummy bar food. Like I said, you won’t regret it… (My neighbors and I often bring our toddlers and feel it is pretty kid friendly and accommodating because there are so many different rooms to see and places to explore, the kids enjoy walking around)

My family and I have been a few times for birthday celebrations. The servers are awesome and the cream of crab soup is one of the best that I’ve ever had. No, seriously. So good that I wanted to lick the bowl. We also had oysters as apps during happy hour(½ off). The selection is decent. When we visited, crab cakes were the special of the month. They were good. However, they weren’t your traditional Maryland crab cakes. They came with a cauliflower mash, which was surprisingly very good. Their desserts. Whew! I’ve only had the apple pie/fritter things and the were great. The décor is beautiful. It’s really like a lodge in mountains. Try to sit in the back by the bar if you can.

Clyde’s tower Oaks is simply one of the best restaurants in the DC metro area. Clyde’s is a small local chain that has made a huge commitment toward hospitality, quality and consistency. I’ve eaten at all of their restaurants and Clyde’s tower Oaks is my personal favorite. A fantastic feature(among the many) of the restaurant is their late night hours. They are open until 2am!!! Nowhere else can you sit down to an excellent meal in such a beautiful setting at 1 in the morning and feel like a million bucks. I also love the semi-remote setting and beautiful landscaping. Long live Clydes!!! BTW, I have no affiliation with Clydes other than being a happy customer. Oh, and their restrooms are truly among the best in class. Much respect.

I loved the ambience just driving onto the property. Parking is plentiful and is hidden by all the trees. There is FREE valet parking but my vehicle has hand controls which means I am reluctant to turn it over to a valet. They have small plates and appetizers both. There is quite an assortment — salads, soups, boudin, loma, oysters, shrimp, dips. Each come attractively and uniquely displayed. All the apps and small plates I’ve tried have been fresh. The entrees are fresh and cooked to order. It should be possible for the seafood lover, the steak lover, or the vegetarian to find something delicious. About the only thing I wished for was more types of merlot by the glass. Seems to be only a house version. It’s not a restaurant I’d visit for gastronomical feats, but it is a restaurant I can easily arrange a family party or a work event or an evening with a friend and have great food in a lovely setting.

Upon setting my eyes on the radiant and brilliantly decorated tower oaks lodge, I knew I was in for a treat. You might be wondering, do they valet? Well my friends, not only do they valet, but it’s free! Already amazing service before I even step into the restaurant. Once inside, I was greeted warmly by the manager no less, who personally led me and my date to our prime table as we eagerly followed his succulent lats to our seats. The waiter may have been less muscular, but he was just as delightful as he gave us personal beer recommendations(they were fantastic). It turned out to be happy hour(3 – 7 and 10-close), so we got crisply fried yet tender wings. 12 wings for $ 7 can’t be beat. We then followed up with the mouth watering chicken sandwich, complete with hot out the kitchen french fries. The atmosphere was eccentric and exciting, food was to die for, and the people as sweet as can be. GREATEXPERIENCE! Shout out to the manager Zach for not only getting us there,(along with countless other friends over the past few months), but for the great service and hospitality

My favorite Clyde’s location! There’s always a table or a seat at the bar. The romantical lighting around the entrance and inside always make me feel«better» for some reason. There should be lights everywhere. Let’s make that happen, Everywhere-I-Go.

We went for a corporate team dinner, as this place is great for accommodating large groups. The food is adequate, but not amazing. We tried the following Starters — charcuterie and cheeses: not amazing selection, but adequate — deviled eggs: standard — boom boom shrimp: decently spicy — crab and artichoke dip: this was not good, the cheese was poor quality Main — I tried the strip with fries, not bad but it was flame broiled which I don’t tend to love — my colleague enjoyed the fish with cheese, which she said unexpectedly worked Dessert — I tried the chocolate cheese cake which was mediocre, the real stand out is the adult milk shake, those were quite popular with our group I wouldn’t go back, unless under similar circumstances but if you’re in the area, it’s not bad.

My husband and I love this place. The ambience is so warm and cozy. We especially love the hunting lodge room with the large moose over the fireplace. For appetizers, we always get chicken liver mouse and duck prosciutto and everything on the menu is pretty good — would suggest sticking with the classics though!

We went to Clyde’s Tower Oak Lodge for Thanksgiving and loved our experience! This restaurant is gorgeous and huge, but to get in for Thanksgiving with a large group you must call at 7:30 or 8am exactly 30 days before Thanksgiving day. We had a classic turkey dinner(turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green beans, gravy and cranberry sauce), ham dinner(smoked ham, potato gratin, spiced apples and green beans) and butternut squash risotto. They also brought bread and butter to the table. Everything was delicious and well priced. The butternut squash risotto was a real standout. Only negative comments were that the food could’ve been a little warmer, and we wished the bread was hot. The dessert(pumpkin, apple and pecan pie) was all homemade, delicious and served with ice cream or whipped cream! Our server(Chris, I think?) was attentive and incredibly nice. Big shout out to him as they were very busy and he checked in at all the right moments. We will definitely be returning here, perhaps for Thanksgiving, or just for a nice lunch or dinner! Thanks for giving us a great holiday, Clyde’s!

The surrounding of the restaurant is definitely the selling point. The service was mediocre, our server gave us the wrong wine and thought she could get away with it. One was Sauvignon Blanc and the other was a Chardonnay. She did not offer to fix the problem right away hoping we will just accept her mistake. In the end we decided it was not acceptable so she exchanged it. The food was typical American classics.

Our recent experience at Tower Oaks Lodge was much more pleasant than the one in 2011. My husband, granddaughter, daughter-in-law and I went for an early dinner. There was valet parking available, but we were early enough that we were able to find a parking spot easily. We started with the crab and artichoke dip. It was good and the bread that accompanied it was warm and fresh, very nice. Our daughter-in-law had fried green tomatoes and a Caesar salad; husband had the falafel burger; and our granddaughter and I had the cream of crab soup and Caesar Salad. The fried green tomatoes had a tempura type batter with a little spicy kick. I guess the falafel burger was good, not something I would have ordered but husband was happy. This visit the crab soup was hot and had plenty of crab meat; I suspect it was mostly claw meat but it was still rich and tasty. The Caesar salad wasn’t the best I’ve ever eaten but was okay. Service was good, though seems like there was an awful lot of socializing at the reservation desk(I sound like such an old fogey). I would like to give Tower Oak 4 stars, but over all of my visits there has been too many inconsistencies in food and service.

Clyde’s Tower Oaks Lodge is worth a visit(or three), both for food and for the happy hour. Came here to dinner with my aunt and uncle last year. The steak is really good. So are the drinks. They were visiting from out of town and really enjoyed themselves. So it’s a nice place to take guests for an upscale, but not pretentious, meal. The happy hour is the real deal. The bartenders are super chill and make sure you get the most out of your happy hour. They don’t really advertise happy hour aside from a small placard with food deals($ 7 for a huge plate of wings, a sandwich, a burger, you name it. It’s a good deal.) The wine specials are what’s up though. A little more than $ 2.50/glass. I mean, come on. Until 7 p.m. But please, PLEASE, make sure to tip your server based on what the real price would have been. Trust me, they deserve it. The place is huge. Two bars. Apparently the bar in the back is more fun, but there were no seats left(due to some girl saving three seats for her invisible friends) so we partied at the front bar. Had just as much fun. Given the incredible happy hour specials I’m surprised it’s not more happening here. But there’s a decent crowd and I suppose everyone wants to keep the good secret to themselves. ;)
