I signed up for Unilocal just to review Casa Mia On The Green :) I had my rehearsal dinner here in May and I can’t say better things about them. I had trouble finding a place near my wedding venue in Middletown, CT – everything was booked, not in my budget or the food was not up to par for my Italian in laws from New York who are selective with their Italian food :) Then we found Casa Mia On The Green — I loved their private room(lots of light! overlooking a golf course!), we sampled the food and it was excellent and their family-style menu seemed to be an excellent value. I booked it on the spot. Leading up to my event they were super responsive — I must have called ten times with questions(would they be able to accommodate a gluten-free guest? Yes. Would they have something for kids to eat? Yes. etc.) They were helpful and pleasant every time I called. On the evening of the event, they did not disappoint! The space, service and food was great — the courses seemed to be never ending — they kept bringing dish after dish — and the drinks were flowing! My Italian in-laws were very pleased … as was I! At the end of the meal, I added a tip when tip was already included and they were honest and told me about my mistake which was the cherry on top to an already great experience! Highly recommend!

We set our monthly gentleman’s dinner here last night, the experience was great! The offered all different dishes. We started with wedding soup then a Italian meat and cheese plate. The next was fried calamari cooked to perfection! The pasta was a red sauce and for the seafood lovers they served a delicious clam sauce. The main course was a chicken Marsala, a fish combo plate and a steak and gravy, all delish! Thank you guys for a five star meal and experience!

We have been coming here for a few years. Service is always top notch. Food is delicious. We were here again last Saturday during the snow storm, with three other couples and had a blast.

I’ve tried Casa Mia in multiple locations, over the years. Always disappointed by the ‘Restaurant 101′ mistakes they continue to make. Food overcooked, meals come out 10 minutes apart or more, marginal quality ingredients. Let’s just assume they don’t know how to run a top notch restaurant… or don’t care.

I have eaten there three times and 2 of the 3 I was extremely disappointed in the food(overcooked). service was so-so and the smaller dining room is extremely noisy. I hear their banquets and private parties are good but as for a nice dinner(pricey) I will not be going back. Too much money to get aggravated.

The service was great from Paul and Tess. Then the owner(Danny) came out of nowhere and swore across the bar at a customer and it literally turned into a bar fight. I will never be back. I was expecting a relaxing Italian restaurant vibe and got the complete opposite. Very unprofessional upper management!

Omg between the appetizer, the bread, olives, cheese, vino… We started out with mussels FANTASTIC. The bread is served with oil, olives, garbanzo beans, and fontinela cheese. We had pasta, puttanesca and sausage with rabe wow we loved it!

Wow! So disappointed. The bartender was sweating profusely, left the bar for long periods of time and couldn’t understand any order. He would act confused and take the order then go back and ask again. I watched him do this to multiple customers. A few servers and someone that seemed to be an owner walked by dirty dishes in front of people and empty glasses and didnt bother to clear or refill. The food was a whole different disaster. The pasta was overcooked and bland, everything needed salt and pepper. The entire menu is also grossly overpriced with entrees over $ 30. That would be ok if the food was fabulous but it was sub par. Just overall disappointing for such a pretty venue.

Excellent ! The food was delicious and the service was top notch. They had live music which definitely added to the ambiance. It had a family feel, a place we can all enjoy a nice dinner. I recommend!

My husband and I went to Casa Mia last night and we were pleasantly surprised. I ordered the Calamari Fra Diavlo and my husband ordered the Chicken Parm. Not only were they huge servings, but the sauce was delicious! I am very hesitant about ordering sauce dishes but this was perfectly seasoned. The Fra Diavlo was just a hint spicy. Not too much, not too little. It was one of the best dishes I ever had. They certainly don’t skimp on the calamari. The chicken parm was also delicious. The dish came with 2 very large pieces of chicken, perfectly prepared on a bed of pasta. Again, the sauce was perfect. The bread was good as were our salads. Will definitely be returning to Casa Mia.

Italian food is very personal. You either love a restaurant or you hate it. This was love at the first bite. Three of us went on a Friday night. We were told that it’s good to have a reservation but it was a slow night I guess because we were seated immediately. The drinks were on point, the bar was full so that’s a good sign. Zermin, our server was attentive, without hovering. He was engaging and very knowledgable of the menu. He brought us a basket of bread with oil and butter. He also brought us a long plate with olives, cheese, and a chick pea salad to share. again, a nice touch. One friend ordered the veal Parmesan with a side of penne, the other had the spicy penne a la vodka, and I had the garganelli ala potentina. They both loved their meals. The veal came out with ribbon fettuccine instead of the penne. Zermin apologized but he said it was freshly made and he thought she would love it. That was an understatement, it was delicious. My meal was superb, with fresh pasta, on site made sausage and broccoli rabe, and red peppers. Our waiter seemed very proud to work in this establishment and expressed his feelings about all of the food here. Plainly, it was awesome. I hope that it doesn’t get too busy for us to return. Already planning on going soon.

Meal started out with a delicious hard crusted olive and sesame bread with good olive oil. It also came with cheese, olives and a bean salad. We then had fried calamari(very tender and delicious) with sauce that had a nice bite to it. We also had clams casino, which we could not find any clams in the shell. Our main course was sea bass with lobster over vegetables that was outstanding. A nice helping of the fish. The food and service was great, except for the nonexistent clams

The portions are giant for dinner — we ended up sharing two entrees and an appetizer with four adults and took home a full plate of leftovers. We had some veal and a seafood alfredo. You get delicious warm bread from a NY bakery and olives free in the beginning which is yummy and they refill it for you! It’s very fancy atmosphere(lot’s of older people with expensive clothing) but it’s also relaxed enough so that your embarrassing loud family can be themselves without judgement. I would go back.

I have to admit I was weary when I pulled in to see Casa Mia moved to a golf course. But what a pleasant surprise! Also do not know why someone would review this place about the outside activity without dining in the establishment… I don’t think its fair at all. So onward to the good stuff! We ordered a nice charcuterie platter, called Piaceri della Tavola. Cured meats cheese, tons of olives and beans… very good! For dinner I had the Lombatine Sottobosco which is breaded veal topped with tomato, cheese, wild mushrooms, asparagus, lemon sauce. This was DELICIOUS! The veal was so tender you do not need a knife to cut it, just use your fork… veal melted in my mouth. The sauce was very light and not too oily or buttery, just right! The bread is extremely fresh and nice crispy crust. As always, the staff was very friendly, and water filled as soon as you were near half of a glass… yes that’s a pet peeve of mine waiting for a water refill. I’m glad Casa Mia relocated since they are even closer to our home. Will be back again for sure! Make reservations! This place fills up FAST! Well done Casa Mia! Molto buona!

Came here for a holiday party for work. This restaurant location used to house one of my favorite restaurants Marios II. Which I was very upset when it closed. It housed a couple other restaurants before becoming Casa Mia on the Green. We had our meal served family style. When we arrived we were greeted with cheese and crackers and a cash bar. Once dinner started wine, beer & soda was offered freely. Although I did ask for a glass of Seltzer water with a splash of cranberry and was denied, was told I could only have a pitcher? Nobody else at my table wanted any so I told the waitress if I couldn’t have just a glass forget it. Athough I did see other co-workers just get a glass of soda as requested. Go figure??? For appetizers we had the Italian Antipasto, Stuffed Mushrooms & Fresh Tomato & Mozzarella Salad. All of the appetizers were delicious. For our pasta course we had Rigitoni with Marinara & Penne Primavera. I liked the Rigitoni with Marinara the best out of the two these. The Entrées were Chicken Marsala, Sliced Beef Tenderloin, Seafood Scampi. The chicken & beef were the better of the two. Seafood Scampi was a little to fishy for me. The Salad came out with the entrees which we all thought was weird should have been served before the pasta course? Vegatable for the sides were some really tasty garlicky green beans and roasted potato slices. And we finished with an ice cream roll and coffee for dessert. All in all it was a pretty decent dinner… might go again.

Score this one a «very high four,» if there ever was such a thing. We were attracted by a certificate, and we’ll be back for sure. A few minor demerits lead me to keep that fifth star in my back pocket, for instance, the appetizers that we found to be decent at best, and the dining room that’s just a little outdated, though I suppose I’ve seen worse. It’s bigger than it looks at first glance; as an event venue, you might be able to fit a hundred people for a small-to-medium wedding. The entrees we had, both specials, were certainly five-star. Short ribs over farro with spinach, absolutely delightful, finished the leftovers the same night. My fiancée’s salmon was equally excellent. $ 28.95 gets you a choice of appetizer and special entrée, which is certainly not cheap, but ultimately reasonable since you really don’t have to order any more food. It’s always great to have a go-to Italian fine dining place nearby… this one just may become ours in the future.

Last night, I attended a private party for 60 at Casa Mia and I was very impressed. Simply put, the food was terrific. We had the large dining room between the lobby entrance and the bar. Our meal was served family style, as platter after platter came rolling out of the kitchen. Really nice bread baskets. Antipasto platters of meat, cheese, and olives. Caprese Salad platter of tomatoes, mozzarella, and chick peas. Pasta with red sauce. Pasta with a garlic sauce. Chicken platters. Potato wedges. Steak platters. Coffee and cookies. The food was wonderful, I loved the chicken and pastas. Food and bar service was very good. Bottom line, a really enjoyable experience.

The old location(Casa Mia) was on Franklin ave in Hartford. Same family owned, this is the new location. Used to be Serentos on the green. This place has friendly and fast service with great food. Came here with a party of 8. Place was busy, great music with a DJ in the bar area. We all had different dishes from pasta to steaks and even lobster, all cooked perfectly. Deff recommend to come here. They even gave us all a drink on the house after our café.
