I called them to find out about having my Caldera Spa repaired. They don’t do repairs and highly recommended Ron at Spa Works in Rohnert Park. That is why this saga is on their page. I gave em a 2 for recommending a clown. I figured I would save money by having the right part fixed by a pro instead of replacing all the suspect parts myself. ooops… I called Spa works and spoke with owner Ron, he sounded bewildered at my symptoms(I have a degree in Elect Technology) but I figured it was just me, they sent a young tech out(not Ron) to whom I described the symptoms. Big one is melted Spa shut off box(which I replaced), hi temp shutoff sounding, flo sensor sounding, ozonator not working. I had it all apart ready for him as time is money. He fussed around for about 25 minutes and declared the flo sensor was bad(that is was the LCD screen said amongst other things) so he replaced it for $ 45(I could have gotten them for $ 25 in the net, so $ 75 for service call, plus 40 min @ $ 60/hr, new filter $ 67($ 42 on net), measure for new cover @ $ 295. Total bill over $ 550, that night, spa stopped working with same symptoms. Didn’t spend the $ 199 for new ozonator. Went to pick up my cover the next weeks, told Ron the kid didn’t fix it, he asked what it was doing, told him same symptoms, he said hmmm and thats when I told him I order new parts to fix it off the net. I replaced heater, temp & Limit sensor, ozonator, for less than $ 225 total. These guys seem to be clueless when it comes to repairs. As for the melted spa shutoff box which I replaced with a fusebox, the kid told me to keep some spare fuses around as it was possibly the motor(which works fine) and the fuses were much cheaper. I found the heater is shorted to ground through one leg after they didn’t fix it. I know the Hot tub store only recommended these clowns but I gotta tell you, take it with a grain of salt. Don’t Use the Spa Works unless you wanna get ripped.
