This is my favorite restaurant for sushi. The atmosphere is odd but the food is great. I have almost ordered every roll on the menu but, my all time favorite is the Rohnert Park roll. I have eaten at almost every sushi place in the Petaluma, Rohnert Park, Santa Rosa area and at the end of the day this place is still my favorite by far. Cowboy sushi is an amazing chef. He has been making sushi for over 10 years. If you can get off your high horse and not get caught up in the environment but truly taste the food you’ll love this place. Plus they do to go orders which is awesome.

This spot was great! I really was looking for ramen because it was a cold night but I was very happy to see they had beef sukiyaki. It was 8.95 which is priced far less than other places I’ve had it. My girl friend ordered the ahi & hamachi sashimi dinner 15.95 and came with miso soup, small salad and rice. The sashimi was served on a bed of shredded daikon. The food was delicious! The fish was fresh & the soup tasted perfect so happy it had the yam noodles. The service was friendly and prompt. We will certainly be back!

If you’re serious about your sushi then TAKE is the place to be. The prices are great and the quality of fish is fantastic. I first visited this place when it opened 10 years ago and the quality has stayed consistent. I’ve never tried anything but the sushi so I can’t judge anything outside of the sushi. Leong(aka William) trained in Japan for 10 years and has been the sushi chef at TAKE for the last 10. The hostess, Susan, is very friendly and has been working at the restaurant since it opened. Definitely worth the visit if you’re in the Rohnert Park area.

NEVERAGAIN! Stay away from this one, folks. Friends came in from Modesto for dinner last week, as well as to go out to Sally Tomatoes for the Sonoma County Blues Society Jam, in which my friend’s husband sits in on Harmonica and Vocals from time-to-time. They visit our area frequently, so we’ve each used extensively over the years, selecting this Ta-Ke Sushi place on the Northern leg of Commerce Drive, since it was on the way to where the Blues Jam happens every Wednesday night from 8 to 11pm. Well! Ta-Ke Sushi was disgusting! The bathroom was utterly filthy, with a hole dug around the drain hole in the middle of the room! My friends wanted to leave due to that alone, right away, but the timing was such that we could not just pick up & go somewhere else and lose 20 to 30 minutes, so we stayed — only to regret it! I ordered Nigiri, which was room temperature or HIGHER! Sushi should NEVER be served that warm! My friends ordered Tempura, on which they later got sick, probably due to old grease. While eating, we also noticed how grungy the vertical blinds were, wishing we had gone elsewhere. So, if I could give this place ZERO stars, I certainly would!

MY favorite go to place for sushi. Very authentic and traditional Japanese cuisine. Friendly staff. I highly recommend their rohnert park roll. I cannot wait to try others.

Mediocre sushi with thin cuts of fish. The seaweed salad was small and bulked up with 2−3x the volume of cucumbers underneath. Seems to be cutting lots of corners…

Just wanted to try something new they give you a lot on there serving but wow food is not really good. We ordered 3 bento boxes I love sushi I usually finish my whole plate with this restaurant I think I only ate partial of the serving. Place is also sketchy we used there coupon at of course when the bill comes they say you need to order something different if they were to do that they should have put that in the conditions in the coupon. I would not recommend going to this place definitely.

Love this place. Always great sushi and the people are so nice. Sue remembers us every time we go in and It is sometimes years between visits. The Sues Crunch roll and Rohnard Park roll are 2 of my favorites but I have never had a less than great meal here.

The whole grilled ika something was good and so was the hamachi kama. I would not recommend the sushi. Service was pleasant.

Great food. They have sake & beer. Friendly people working here. I’m loving it so far. Plus they have a nice sushi bar. The bar is important especially if your just stopping in alone at lunch.

These guys are warm & friendly. Service is always on point! Prices are very reasonable & you won’t leave hungry or broke. I highly recommend the Rohnert park roll, sues crunch roll, or kens roll. I personally love their dragon rolls as well. Yumm! I’m such a regular here they should name a roll after me! The duke roll! LOL

:-) a wonderful experience I had here with my family. It was such a nice place, quiet and the sushi rolls were delicious. I will definitely come back here again. The owner was our waiter and she was so sweet. She was kind to my 3 year old and helped get everything we asked for

I’ve been a resident of this area for a really long time, I’ve seen places come and go, and especially in small strip malls such as this one, quality is something that I see falter repeatedly. There used to be a Thai place just a business or two down called Thai Basil, and it was absolutely delicious. After they closed, we mistakenly drove here many times, and settled on the Chinese place, or the previous sushi place… Years have passed since I have returned, and unfortunately, things have taken a turn for the worse. I arrived at the noon hour with my mom, both of us on a tight schedule for meetings after lunch. Even at noon, this place was DESERTED. The only other diner was an older guy who seemed(and smelled) like he was still nursing a hangover from the night before, and was talking in faltering tones to the sushi chef whom he somehow knew. We sat at the sushi bar too, to hope for the best. We ordered a salmon baked roll, and two chicken don bowls(rice, chicken and veggies with some egg and sauce). The salad was wilted, flavorless, and absolutely drenched in the mayonnaise sauce, the miso was ok but nothing too exciting, and the sushi took the majority of our time to get there. Once the sushi arrived, it was not bad, but once again, nothing I’d order a second time. When the bowls arrived it was almost time for us to leave, so we took ours in boxes, paid and left. I then got to work and opened the box to eat my lunch, and was met with a terrible surprise: the chicken was not even fully cooked! At this point I was so frustrated I didn’t even bother to take the lunch back to the restaurant, and just ate a yogurt from my fridge and decided I’d never return. I hate to write reviews like this because especially Rohnert Park could use some outstanding restaurants, but with an overwhelming majority of mediocre or less… it leaves Hana as sometimes the only shining star in a very dark night sky.

Quirky, cheap, reliable, and delicious. I love this place! I’ve been coming here for almost 10 years and it hasn’t changed a bit(to my relief). The food here is really, really good! Ive only had one bad dish but hey, every restaurant has their weak points! The place has really good dolled up rolls, if you are into that. The tempura maki is one of my favorite rolls. Its super filling, flavorful, and best of all, cheap! The Rohnert Park maki that comes with the bento box is kinda white trash(but so is Rohnert Park hehe) but I must confess, it is delicious. As far as the nigiri goes, it is good, but maybe not the best in the world. The non-sushi food is delicious, filling, and cheap. They have amazing lunch specials that are a few dollars below ten. The service is hit or miss. You either get a super sweet woman or another waiter who is borderline creepy. The atmosphere is amusing and tacky. It’s a mix of swedish wooden tiling, victorian wallpaper, chinese ceiling tiling, modern 80s paintings, paper parrots, with a few japanese decorations throw in. Someone it is still cozy and lovable.

If you dare to eat here, take a good look at the menu and order your items all at once or YOU’LLBESORRY. My cousin took me here and told me it’s the best Japanese restaurant around the Rohnert Park area… I guess I’ll have to take him to some places in SJ haha. We came here around 6PM on a Wednesday and it wasn’t very packed. When it hit 7PM, the place filled up quickly. Our order took forever to make and when my cousin wasn’t full yet, he decided to place another order. It took almost 30+ minutes for his 2 items to arrive which I thought was ridiculous. I’m used to ordering combination dinners at Japanese restaurants and this place didn’t impress me one bit. They didn’t put my food in a bento box which I’m used to. My food came out in 3 separate bowls(soup, salad, and rice) and 2 plates(teriyaki salmon and teriyaki beef). The soup was very salty, but I must say that the tofu melted in my mouth. As for the salad, there was way too much dressing on it. If I knew that they put a lot of teriyaki sauce on the beef and salmon, I probably would have just asked them to put it on the side. The service here wasn’t so great and I think it’s because they are understaffed. I didn’t like how things were not taken off of our table during our dinner if we were finished with it. If I were you, I would probably skip this place if you were looking for a combination dinner. Going here made me realize how lucky I am to have good Japanese restaurants in SJ.
