Ruby’s Dinner is a great place for kids. They serve great milk shakes. The service is good.

Great place for little one’s birthday party. Kids always have great time to have a birthday party here, and the staff are very kind and nice. Best of all, it’s next to the ice skate ring and little ones can enjoy skating after a yummy meal!

I had a great time here with my wife today. She ordered the seafood combo and I ordered the caliente turkey burger. Two hot teas as well. Dane was our server; an excellent one to boot. He was attentive, patient and just overall very pleasant to be around. The food was delicious. I also like when we ordered hot tea he brought six different kinds for us to try. Just an overall great experience.

I just ordered a BBQ ranch chicken salad to go but the ingredients weren’t complete. They forgot to put the black beans and corn. What a waste of money! Be sure to check all your orders. I am very dissatisfied with this branch!

The place reminds of you of course of an old American Classic diner. You have a view of the ice skating rink. I was able to watch a hockey practice and an amateur figure ice skater on the rink. The place is pretty neat. The service is great. They have a very pleasant approach. Our server was awesome. Every table got served pretty well. As for the food, I thought it was average. I got the ahi salad and a clam chowder. The ahi salad was Ok. Not too impressive but not bad. The clam chowder is clamless. I don’t know why they don’t put a considerable amount of clam nowadays. Overall, this place is average at best. It’s on a nice location in Palos Verdes. It is not too crowded and is a very mellow place to dine in. If you’re looking for American food, it’s a good place to the try. Johnny Rockets is a better place to go though if you want good American Diner food.

This place is such a classic! I’ve come here so many times that I’ve lost track. The outfits are always cute and the 50s theme is always fun. I’ve come here for bday celebrations a few times and group dates. It’s funny how they usually put a Santa on display during Christmas time. It’s also sometimes entertaining to watch ppl ice skating or playing hockey. Their shakes are amazing that I sometimes am unable to finish a lot of my food because of me gulping down the whole shake haha. They apparently expanded their menu so now they have breakfast items all day. Their portions are huge though that I’m usually not able to finish my food haha.

We ordered carry-out from here. The food was average but it wasn’t too expensive. I had the seafood combo platter which had fried fish & shrimp. One negative about getting carry-out here is that the business is in the heart of this shopping center so getting in and out isn’t quick. The girl that put together our order(I think she was also the hostess) was very nice.

I liked that they give kids a cardboard fold-up car to play with, and the kids meals are reasonably priced, but it wasn’t particularly outstanding in terms of «must go back.»

Wow this place is the greatest place for breakfast around. My wife and I split they’re big breakfast and it fills us both. Coffee is fantastic along with the service. Beautiful views of the ice skating rink. Never being crowded during the week. It’s a must.

Food is good to okay. Shakes are great. Service? Meh. Not so good. Slow. Didn’t get fries with our meal, even though the menu clearly states it. When we asked our server, who I believe was training someone(ironically), she told us she substituted our salad for the fries and asked if we wanted them at that point(halfway through our meal). I’ll be going to Johnny Rockets down the street henceforth.

Just an added bonus. While I was killing time with my kids waiting for our movie, we went in here for some shakes. I was informed by our waiter that Ruby’s offers movie tickets at a discount for the theater while you are dining here! How cool is that? Haven’t tried it yet, but I will definitely keep this in mind.

I came here jonesing for a good hamburger and was not disappointed. Tip: you can still order Ruby’s version of a Hawaiian burger although it’s not on the menu — it’s called the Aloha burger. The patty was juicy and tasty, pineapple sweet, and the veggies packed with freshness. Skinny fries were freshly made and served hot. Washed it down a cherry coke which is really just a regular coke with a shot of cherry syrup. Not a bad pop although I think they used to put in a real cherry with stem and all. I also took a bite out of my wife’s Caliente Turkey Burger and I gotta say, I’m not usually big on turkey burgers but this one gave even my hamburger a run for its money. So good! Waiter was friendly and food came out super fast despite a full house. Any other day and I would have tried one of their shakes which looked delectable but I was on my way to watch Star Wars and was nervous about bladder capacity so I decided against it. Until next time, Ruby’s!

This place is going down like the Titanic! What happened? The service? The quality of food? Seriously has gotten worse and worse over the years. The only reason why they still exist and why we go even here(even though I hate their food) is because my son plays hockey and we are at the Ice Chalet twice a week. First off, what is up with their burger buns? Seems like they changed the type of buns recently. It starts to crumble and fall apart as you eat. I wasn’t even halfway into eating my guacamole burger and the buns just disintegrated on me. I had to have them bring something else because all the burger buns except for kids burgers uses the same terrible, crumbling buns. Last night was the last straw for me. After hockey, my son was hungry so we decided to stop by. I saw that they had clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl so I figured I can at least avoid eating their terrible burgers. Now I know it’s Tuesday night. But come on. We were taken to our seat by this very unhappy looking teenager. We wait nearly 10 min to get served. This is school night. We want to eat and go. There’s just the two of us. The server takes our order and out comes the food 15 min later. Half way into his corndog, my son says that his food is icy cold. I touch it and yes, the hotdog inside is icy cold. Obviously, they didn’t cook their frozen corndog all the way. The manager is nowhere to be seen. No apologies. Just replaced by a very well done corndog 15 min later. Again, it’s school night. I did not have time to sit around and wait for such terrible uncooked food. I hope this place will go out of business soon and gets replaced by something decent.

I’ve been coming into this Rubys for years and they never disappoint! Even as a college student whenever I’m in my hometown I come to this Rubys with my family. My favorite thing to get here are the chicken strips and I absolutely love them. My server Andrew H always greets me with a smile and gets my order correct every time. Definitely come to this Rubys if you want great service!

Stopped here for lunch after church today. This certainly wasn’t the first time I’ve ever been here… I’ve come here often with my family before or after a movie. The food is okay, but I would definitely avoid it if you’re in any kind of time crunch. Today we happened to be trying to get on the road to make an appointment in the afternoon. BIGMISTAKE. We were there about 15 minutes before our server came, and then it was another 45 before our food came. And the place wasn’t busy! Sometimes I’m okay with a leisurely meal, but today was not it. The food isn’t worth that long of a wait.

Considering that this is just across the street from where I work is a huge plus, and they do deliver. Which is another big plus for me. The food quality is great. Just simply ordered a bacon cheeseburger and fries, with a Diet Coke. And the price was decent too. All in all, I certainly can’t complain about it. :) I will say that I haven’t dined at the location, but the quick delivery to the office and the cost and taste of the food is sufficient enough for me.

This place is great — They give kids little car paper 3d models to make to keep them busy. My son forgets all about the iphone and will put the car together instead — they have at least 3 different models — yea! I forget what nigh it was but they have someone making balloon animals/characters for the kids — very cool. i’m actually really impressed how clean and kept up it is considering it’s been here so long — looks brand new. We have been many times now and the service is always great and friendly. I like the menu selection — there are many different things to try besides their burgers. I’m a burger snob and their’s is right up there at the top. Good loose meat patty, perfect sponge bun, right amount of condiments. Fries are skinny and crispy.

This is my favorite childhood restaurant. I just love their simple food and the service never fails. As a kid, I loved getting the Ruby Dog and the hamburgers because they were so delicious. Now, my tastebuds have evolved to me ordering some chicken tenders and salads. The food here is good for a diner and it’s a great place to eat after you ice skate or shop at the mall. I highly recommend this place for anyone who needs quick service at a decently-priced diner.

So, the wife and I,(Dama and Poppa), are watching the grandbabies, ages 3 and 5 while their mother is off to school… We are trying to figure where to take them for dinner,(as the less time they spend in the house, the cleaner it remains). So the wife,(Felicia B. aka, Dama), daughter,(Auntie Reina, aka Rini B.) and I decide on Ruby’s. So the conversation goes something like this: Dama: «Ashy, do you want to go to Ruby’s for dinner»? Ashling(aka, Ashy): «What’s Rubys»? Auntie Reina: «You know… The place next to where we took you Ice Skating». Ashy: «Oh yeah. I love it. Can I get a gumball»? Therein lies the succinct and simplistic decision making process of a 5 year old regarding where to eat dinner… Personnally, I like Ruby’s. It reminds me of the old soda shops of yesteryear… In all fairness, the food is good enough. The kids got milk shakes, complete with whipped cream and topped with a cherry but were only allowed to eat them AFTER they ate their meals,(hot dog /fries and a peannie jam /fries), which they did, so the shake was a real treat for them. Eating all of their meals says something I suppose on the quality of the kids meals too, tho it’s got to be difficult to dork a peanut butter and jelly sandwich… The wife had shrimp tacos, I had the«Super Burger» combo and both were pretty darned good… Like I said… I like Ruby’s :-)
