Awesome family and food, atmosphere… we make it a weekly habit to visit there. Hawaiian music makes the best ambiance.

The food was delicious! I have tried several items for take out, dine in and even catered an order for 40 people. It was fresh every time. The teriyaki chicken, pot stickers, vegtables, and Nancy’s healthy bowl were all amazing. The place is packed and for good reason. Can’t wait to go again!

Looks nice, people are ok. The chicken teriyak is good. It’s my first time here and I’m not impressed. The water they serve you is in 4 pitchers next to the sink behind the counter. There was no silverware on the table when we were seated. No server came to take our order, I didn’t realize I have to go to the counter to order and get my silverware. The owner needs some lessons on how to accommodate to guest in the restaurant.

Interesting novelty place. Décor and menu seem like a westernized asian mishmash lol, though that’s not necessarily a terrible thing. Love their little snacks, niknaks, desserts and prices, but the wait was long and savory flavors were. lacking. Hubby and LO did not care for the ramen, the tonkatsu was coated in some type of sweet & sour sauce(I wish they put it on the side, maybe with a choice of teriyaki or siracha mayo), and the carrot/avocado/tuna appetizers were confusing to the palette. We enjoyed the cute shaved ice in a flower bowl and jap ice cream sandwich. Not sure if we’d come back for dinner, but maybe for some snacks!

Usually I would give this place a 5⁄5 but my last experience was horrific. The ladies at the front are super nice and friendly, but the service I received from the owner(also the cook?) was horrific. I called an order in which was estimated at 20 minutes. I arrive 30 min later since usually they are busy and it takes a while, no big deal. Well I sit here for an additional 30 minutes. People ordering after me getting their food. And still there was no urgency to get me my food. The ladies tried to talk to the cook but it seems he didn’t care. Waited an hour, forgot some items, gave me smaller portions than usual. Part that makes me upset was the lack of sympathy. Usually a small business owner would want to persuade the customers to keep their business. Not this one. Keep in mind this is a night review. Apparently a different part owner runs that shift. He doesn’t care about the customers experience, as long as the food is good.

Kazoku has apparently been around for years and years and I am so bummed to not have found it before! I’m from Hawaii and have finally found someplace that does an excellent job of filling my craving for local-style eats. L&L BBQ is inedible to me so I thought I would only be able to get local food when I went back home. I’m super excited that is no longer the case! The chicken katsu is absolutely delicious with crispy and tender pieces of chicken. I’ve also tried the chili onion chicken, scrumptious and spicy. Their bento boxes come with tasty and crispy gyoza and 3 pieces of California roll sushi. The prices are a bit high compared to other similar restaurants, especially since you place your order at the counter before sitting down. This is a very casual restaurant but comfortable and clean.

This place is mine and my boyfriend’s favorite restaurant ever. The food is always consistently delicious and everyone that works there is extremely nice and helpful. We’ve been coming to eat here for years, before they moved locations and the food has never been better. The owners are some of the nicest people I’ve ever met, and they work very hard to make all of their customers happy. My favorite roll here is definitely the Kiki roll, and my boyfriend will always get the Chirachi(a good assortment of sashimi) and they never complain or say no if we want a different assortment of fish. I’m also a huge fan of their shaved ice, but you Must get it with ice cream and/or a snow cap(condensed milk), it changes everything about it and makes the whole thing Super sweet and delicious. I seriously love this place, and will be eating here for all my life.

Great place with a lovey atmosphere. Not super formal but not fast food type of place. The food is quite good. Every time I come here I’ve been treated well. However my biggest suggestion to you is to hire more staff. The demand is there but you need to meet it. I’ve been here both as dine in and take out and based on my observations you are understaffed. It’s sad to see people fiddling with their phones and growing frustrated wondering where their food is when it’s waiting on the counter getting cold cause the one cashier is swamped by the long line. Otherwise thank you for the best service you guys can do. Keep it up cause I’m becoming quite a frequent customer =]

This place was packed during the weekday lunch rush, so I had some high hopes. The employees here are super friendly and the place is clean and tidy with enough seating. Maybe I ordered the wrong dish, but I was not happy with it at all. I never leave my food(especially meat), to go to waste, but I couldn’t bear to eat it. I ordered the sesame chicken and I expected something similar to the places I’ve had sesame chicken at before. Instead, I got some soggy, tempura breaded chicken with SOMUCHTERYAKISAUCE. I am not a sauce person, so this was already bad when I looked at it. The sauce was dumped under the chicken, and on top. The sauce I had could have been enough for 4 orders. I couldn’t even scrape off the sauce because it saturated the tempura so much that everything was soggy by the time I received it. Overall, not coming back.

There was no wait — plenty of open tables but our food took an entire HOUR to come out! No apologies or complimentary appetizers. My kids were beyond starving so I asked for our California rolls but was told that they are really busy. I believe they give priority to their take out orders because I kept seeing people coming and going with their food. I ordered the combo bento but was dissatisfied with the small portions — 1 small piece of fish katsu, 3 thin slices of beef teriyaki and about 6 slices of chicken. The sunomo salad was just 4 – 5 small slices of cucumber. Also came with 2 small pieces of fried gyoza and 3 small California rolls. Everything tasted ok but was just not satisfying.

Take a trip back to Hawaii and remember those local quick and hearty lunch plates? The second you step in here the smell will take you back… You can go wrong. Tried the Shoyu Ramen and spam Musubi and it was great! Perfect portions of quality tasting food. Try the salmon teriyaki too!

We moved here from Hawaii a couple of years ago and the biggest struggle has been finding authentic local style food. Kazoku has this, in spades! Kazoku is not only a good restaurant for local style Asian Hawaiian food here in Roseville, it would be great if it were in Hawaii as well. Clean, spacious, friendly, attentive, tasty… The positive adjective list goes on. Just give it a try!

The first time we heard of Kazoku was through the old familiar Entertainment book where I had coupons to it. Now that’s long gone and I know it’s a long drive from Elk Grove but hey if you got a car you can drive out here! We had frequented it many times when it was at the old location in the past but this was actually our first time at the new locale which was close to the former location like just around the corner! It was a tiny bit bigger and brighter. Parking was very plentiful. This restaurant was casual so there was no reason to dress up. You just order up at the counter and wait for your order to be brought out. They still don’t have a sushi bar area but my goal was to try the Jamee healthy bowl which consisted of the white chicken meat, plentiful veggies and brown rice. I did ask for the sauce to be placed on the side as that sauce can be overwhelming and if you have been here before you do know what I mean!!! That Jamee healthy bowl was well worth the drive out here. Today is Sunday and why are they closed??? Okay we have to give them a day off but why??? I know I can be demanding at times but if you have a good thing going then why be closed??? All right I’ll stop. Now what is your reason for not hitting this business??? I’m sure you will find me back soon as there are so many businesses out here like the auction, that DD across the street and so on!!! LOL! Btw hubby ordered the chicken yakisoba and that tasted fabulous too. He said he now wants to try their sukiyaki after seeing pics on Unilocal! Here we go again!!! LMAO!

4.5, I have had excellent service multiple times since my last review so it was a fluke, I’m pleased to say. Today I tried the ramen with unagi nigiri, both were excellent. Now, I’d like to see Kazoku open for breakfast. I’ve been dying for a real Hawaiian breakfast. Loco moko, spam, eggs and rice, fried rice w/eggs on top, Portuguese sausage, eggs and two scoops rice… Keep up the good work Kazoku!

This isn’t the first time we have eaten at Kazoku Teriyaki & More, but it is the first time we have eaten at their new location at 5131 Foothills Blvd, Roseville Ca. I was pleasantly surprised how much bigger the restaurant was compared to their old location. There are 4 booths to the left as you enter plus about a dozen tables through-out the restaurant. Beautiful Osuka Prints, plus a large flat screen on the wall. I usually order their chicken teriyaki. Tender pieces of chicken marinated in their secret marinade. A little«sweet & spicy» a perfect combination! But today I ordered their«Chicken Yakisoba».(Thin noodles /with chicken and vegetables.) «This is what I call „Comfort Food“ Will I order this again? You bet! My wife ordered „Jamee’s Healthy Bowl“(White Meat Teriyaki Chicken/Mixed Vegetable/Brown Rice. A perfect healthy choice ! Kazoku menu is so extensive. Sushi Rolls, Sashimi, Bento Boxes, Sukiyaki, Noodle Soups, Chicken Teriyaki and more ! The pros: New larger restaurant, Delicious food, Plenty of Parking, Reasonable Prices! They serve beer, wine and sake, Kids Menu, Hawaiian Style Shave Ice, plus Party Platters & Catering Available. The only negative was» no sushi bar“ This is a family owned business, that offers traditional Japanese Cuisine in a casual atmosphere plus their prices are quite reasonable. A perfect place for the whole family! So the next time you have that craving for Japanese Food ! Make Kazoku your next destination. We will definitely be back! Too many delicious dishes still to try!

I had little expectation as we drove up, Friday night and not busy! It’s more a Hawaiian themed restaurant than a sushi restaurant My wife was unsure if she wanted to eat here but I told her lets lot judge the book by its cover and give it a try! Well, I order bento box teriyaki beef and my wife and Nathilia ordered chicken teriyaki bento box sling with California roll, ell and shrimp tempura and lumpia Well, to our surprise this restaurant deserve the five stars rating! I think I found another restaurant I will be visiting often And to top it off, can you say they have the best shave ice that could rival Matsumoto in Oahu Hawaii I was in heaven So yes, I can say I love this new found jewel!

I ordered the chicken teriyaki bento box and an unayako roll(unagi). It came out fast and tasted great! Chicken was moist, tender and flavorful. I would come back again. Good food, friendly and courteous staff. Prices very reasonable. Bento was $ 7 – 8 w tax. The sushi roll was another $ 6. out the door for $ 16.

This is my favorite place to come for teriyaki and shave ice. Their bento boxes are a pretty good value. I love the seasoning they put on their white rice, and also the crunchy gyoza and delicious california roll pieces. Seriously, I don’t know if it’s the rice or what but their rolls in general just taste better than other places I’ve been. Service is ALWAYS friendly and helpful, and the employees seem to like working there which means a lot to me. The shave ice is really what keeps me coming back, though. I haven’t found Li Hing Mui flavor at any other place around here, and I’ve been to many. The first time I came, I asked what it was and the owner offered me a sample. I was really grateful for that because I wouldn’t have tried what is now my favorite flavor otherwise! I always get half Li Hing Mui, half coconut, with a sno cap and ice cream on the bottom. I have never found a more perfect desert. Let me just break it down for you really fast. Shave ice on its own is awesome for a very precise window of time. For the first maybe two minutes you’ve got fluffy, cold, flavorful heaven. Then, all the flavoring drains out of the top and pools at the bottom, leaving your treat icy on top and slushy at the bottom. OHCRUELFATE! But fear not! With the addition of the denser than syrup sweetened condensed milk, the top of the shave ice remains sweet and flavorful. Then the ice cream mixes with the flavor pooled at the bottom to give you creamy deliciousness in the flavor you chose! All this genius elevates shave ice from a fleeting treat to a dynamic experience that I just can’t get enough of. You have to try it. You don’t understand. Go get some right now!

The food is good. About $ 10 average per item you get whether that be hand rolls, bento, or tuna salad. Their customer service can use some upgrading… Owner can use some appreciation of the customers who fall victim of waiting too long for food plus get subpar service. Not a big fan of this restaurant but I do at least appreciate the person in the kitchen.

Not the best or most authentic Japanese food I’ve ever had… But for casual, fast Japanese grub this place is pretty good. Usually we go to Teriyaki Domo, but we wanted to stay West of the 80 and closer to Home… So we looked on Unilocal, took a chance with this place, and glad we tried it! I had the Teriyaki Salmon Bowl, which I’m often disappointed with at the many other and even much more expensive places… But was very happy with the flavorful, crispy at the edges, but moist and good sized piece of fish I got! My only complaint was the veggies in my bowl consisted mainly of cabbage with just a few slivers of carrots. Would have been better with more carrots, some broccoli, and maybe some bean sprouts. The Wifey had the Pork Katsu, and the Kids has the Teriyaki and Sesame Chicken Meals… Which were all good too. Ok, yes… I did try a little of each of their dishes! Bonus… They use loose leaf tea(not bags) for their hot tea!!! Also, the staff was very friendly… We will definitely be back!

Pretty good. Not great, but a quick meal on the cheap. :) Typical fast casual Japanese dining, small menu. I got Spicy Chicken Teriyaki, but it was very mild… had to keep adding sriracha sauce. Not a big fan if you’re into spicy.
