There is new ownership. There was a BIG change in quality. Not for the good. The food is different and old too. Don’t go towards the end of lunch… u will get scraps and new stuff won’t come out. Think they won’t be there long at this point unless the lease is locked in.

My husband always makes me eat here, but I regret giving in every time! The sushi is ok, but all the other cooked foods are horrible. I really don’t like buffets in general unless they are really fresh and tasty. The only thing I enjoy here is the ice cream.

I went here for the first time a few days ago and I was very satisfied! They have both Japanese and Chinese food. I was surprised at the selection of different types of sushi, and all of them were nicely presented. As far as the Chinese food goes, they had most of the usual dishes(chow mein, fried rice, BBQ pork, etc.), in addition to a few types of dim sum, and at least four different types of buns. It was fantastic. For an $ 8 lunch buffet, I was VERY satisfied and would definitely go back if I’m ever in the Roseville area again!

As stated earlier, this place is not going to set the sushi world on fire. If you want to gorge yourself on fast-food average sushi then this is the place. The quality is passable, which is almost unheard of in buffet sushi. I enjoy all you can eat wakame. Yes, you can get seaweed and edamame anywhere, but people have the balls to charge you for it! It’s nice to load my plate up with seaweed indiscriminately. The chinese food section is passable as well. I tend to stay with the salmon sushimi and a few of the rolls. Dinner is a little spendy for what you get, but lunch is doable. If you get there early, it’s fresh and empty. It’s not a bad lunch at all. It’s a place I’d go with the guys rather than bring someone on a lunch date. If you’re looking for good sushi and a good atmosphere, then you’re trippin if you go here. If you like sushi, willing to take a small hit on the quality and want to spend less than twenty bucks for lunch this is your place. Avoid dinner, it is not a good value.

It’s fine. I mean, for a $ 12.00 sushi buffet, I don’t expect miracles. Stuff tasted fine, there was plentiful amounts of it, my drink was usually full, and I didn’t vomit on my shoes after. Minimum expectations met. Notably buffet items(at least to my pudgy anglo-pallet) were the cream cheese wontons, the prawn nigiri, and the macaroons.

Looks like they changed their ownership and their name is now«Tomi» Service was good this time especially since lunch wasn’t that busy on a Friday afternoon. The $ 8.95 lunch price and the free birthday meals made it well worth it.

Mizu? What happened? You used to be SO good. You used to be such a good value. What happened? Where did the grilled, sliced NY strips go? What happened to the all the great dishes? Where’s all the good dim sum? Was it me? You said I could go back as much as I liked. Were you just saying that? Did you not mean it? Your prices went up and the quality of the offerings went down. That’s not the way you’re supposed to do things. That’s not the way to entice me to return… The sushi/sashimi? It was just okay. Pretty much the same as it has always been. Not great. Not horrible. Just okay. I hate to say it, but i may not be returning any time soon, if ever again. You’re just not good value anymore.

If you like buffet sushi this is your place. Low quality, cold, stale and the cheapest rice available. We won’t be going back, EVER!

The words«all you can eat sushi» entrique me AND scare the hell out of me, all at the same time. I love sushi, so instantly I’m excited. But I couldn’t get the though of myself, hours later, curled next to a toilet from food posioning. Folks, I am proud to say I didn’t get sick! But look, you have to understand that all you can eat sushi for $ 15 is not going to be the best dinning experience of your life. What you can expect, however, is pretty delicious sushi and a lot of it. Plus I’m pretty picky when it comes to sauces on my sushi, and all the rolls lived up to my demands. It’s clean here. It’s big. The people were nice and there is all you can eat deliciousness. Done and done.

This is the Mizu Roseville location close to the Sutter Health complex. Came here for dinner on a Saturday and had heard so much about it! I was really excited. It costs more to eat here on the weekend. I don’t know what the price is(Mom treated), but the Bee occasionally has coupons in there. The décor is modern and well-done for a buffet. Also the windows in the back overlook the rolling hills of Roseville. It started going downhill when I started eating. The walnut prawns had no walnuts. The coating tasted a bit flour-y as well, no crunch to them. I realize the dungeoness crab must have been frozen, and it was a bit dry in parts. Moving on to the sushi, I must say that the salmon was pretty fresh. I had the sashimi, a white fish and tuna. Skipped over those mixed up rolls with the mayo sauce. Oh! They did have a spider roll(I love soft shell crab) which I had to try. It was pretty good. Overall though, it was just A-OK. Hey man, this is a buffet. Don’t expect stellar fish. They did have raw oysters on the half shell. I had images of me praying to the porcelain god a few hours later, but I thought I would play Russian roulette anyways. I am a sucker for oysters. I asked what kind they were, Pacific? Kumamoto? The guy behind the counters said, «Uh…they’re just oysters.» Well, it looked okay. I did my lemon trick to see how fresh it was.(I squeeze a lemon on the oyster and if it reacts, then I know it is fresh. Cruel! Yes, but you’re going to eat it anyways, right?) The oyster did not react to the lemon. Ah well, here goes. Halfway through chewing I encountered a taste I was not familiar with so I gave it up. Other items didn’t stand up to my expectations. The deep fried wontons were chewy, the watermelon was mealy. Their fruit selection(apart from the watermelon) was good: papaya, pineapple, honeydew, mango. Totally got my five-fruit-a-day allowance. There was no green tea ice cream. Bummer! So overall, I don’t think I’ll come back. I would rather pay a bit more and have a quality meal experience than a stuff-your-face-with-average-food experience.

Let me just get to the point… i am having tummy pains from the food i ate here!!! I would like to thank MIZU for helping me lose weight because the food that i ate is all coming out!!! At first i was impressed by the variety they had it just wasnt japanese food… and OYSTERS, SASHIMI, and SUSHIROLLS. stay away from the pork ribs bc theres no meat on their unless you like FAT n have a high BP later… Servers are not friendly unless you know them… To be honest with you if i didnt end up on the toilet from the food this place would have 3 stars solely for the food… BUT its hit and miss. The only reason i came here is bc i was treating my family of 8 for dinner and they suggested this place. SORRYMIZU i am sure as hell not gonna MISS U.

I USE to really like this place. They’re got a good selection on different types of rolls, a buffet of food for those who might not be up for all sushi, and desserts. This past visit we walked in, and were not greeted by the woman behind the counter. Several minutes later when she went to leave the counter to enter the restaurant again, she waived at us to follow her. Lack of service with NO smile. I never understood why everything was open, except the fountain drinks. Instead, you get to wait and be thirsty and hope you can waive down the unsmiling servers. The sushi had a horrible, potent fish smell/taste. They also had a Mexican papaya(I’m guessing — due to the vomit smell/taste) that had been sitting out for far too long(if they go bad — they take on some putrid smells/tastes). The quality of this place has gone down A LOT in the last year. This past visit, was my last visit. Find somewhere else!

For a buffet style restaurant, Mizu doesn’t skimp on the quality. Many buffet style restaurants lack quality for quantity, but Mizu does not lack either. The sushi may not be the best that I’ve had in the area, but it’s one of the better ones. Other than sushi, they do have a chinese food buffet. The selection changes from lunch to dinner. Dinner being more expensive by 5 more dollars, the selection greatly improves. Some things that come out that I personally stock up on is Sea-steak, Crab legs, and cooked albacore. One of the only downsides is that the service can get a little slow. On few occasions, my table had been ignored of refills and other services by the waiting service. Other than that, I hear that the service at this Mizu is better than the other one in Natomas.

All you can eat buffet of mediocre food. Mizu is an AYCE buffet of mostly Sushi(I don’t think you can call a lot of these Japanese sushi, however) plus an assortment of Chinese Dim Sum choices, and other Chinese styled hot dishes and a bevy of salads. The décor is nice, it is pretty new, in one of those malls that dot the rolling hills of Roseville. Actually, the food is pretty bad compared to a Japanese or Chinese restaurant, but compared to one of those AYCE Chinese Buffets or Japanese AYCE like Todai, it is similar. All the workers here are Chinese. The sushi fish is just cut randomly, the rice is not real sushi rice, and the miso soup is watered down. Ironically, Mizu means water in Japanese, so the name is appropriate and a clue to the food. Everything is watered down in one way or another. But if you are a coach from the nearby Granite Bay High School sports teams(a power house in many sports), and you want to treat your crew to a meal, this is the place. Bring all those Football Players here to chow down on semi-healthy food. They probably will scarf up all of those Jive-Ass Sushi rolls covered in Jack-in-the-Box secret sauce, Teriyaki, and Mayonnaise. All the rice will fill them up, too. The owner of Mizu is Chinese. He owns 2 other Mizu AYCE places in the Sacramento area, one just across the i-80 freeway, another down in the Natomas area of West Sac. He is also the owner of Kome in Daly City. So if you live in DC and thought about getting snooty about the quality of your AYCE from Kome compared to Mizu, think again. The one good thing(besides AYCE) about Mizu is it is cheap! The lunch buffet AYCE was only $ 8.95!

One of the few Japanese sushi buffets in Sacramento :) and only $ 14.99 for dinner! what a STEAL! The sushi is not the freshest and the selection could definately use an improvement but their chinese food is also great. They have salmon, crab, walnut shrimp, bak choy, dimsum, beef, broccoli. they do have sashimi, nigiri, and some rolls. most of thier rolls are just california rolls with different fish on top. nothing special or fancy(like a vegas buffet). freshness? questionable, but ive never been impressed by quality at a sushi buffet… The dessert bar is sort of sad! Only a few old pastries and a self help ice-cream bar. The green tea icecream is really good, but the rest of the pastries are so old, the cream from my cakes were all hard and waxy :(just stuff yourself with sushi! don’t count on having anything for dessert! :) one thing that i was pleasantly surprised with is thier tea! ahh it was this flavorful rice tea with bits of brown rice in it. LOVED it. Yes they charge, but can’t have sushi without some hot tea! Service is slow. dont’ expect your plates to be taken away promptly. I would say our table of 4 had at least 4+ plates stacked up ready to go throughout out entire dinner, but no server to be found. the table next to me, their dirty plates were left for at least 10 – 15 min with no server to clean it up. and forget any type of refill on drinks! if you want a napkin, you better hunt someone down! Very popular. try to make a reservation or go for an early dinner! if not, you may have to wait ~20 min or so. also, you pay AFTER you eat :) 4 stars cuz you just CAN’T beat the price!

How funny, I too was shocked when I realized that I had not yet reviewed Mizu in Roseville. Love this place. We never cease to impress any friends or family when we bring them here for the first time. I am a sucker for Sashimi(salmon) and there is Sushi galore, rolls, Nigiri and if you ask nicely the Sushi Chefs will set you up with some Sashimi. If you are not into the raw stuff or sushi at all but enjoy Chinese food, their dishes are great, dim sum too. People will ask if I am filling a hollow leg the way I go at the Honey Walnut Shrimp! Fruits(papaya, melons etc) and Veggies are also found in the buffet, as well as pastries and ice cream for dessert. Great deal at lunch. More expensive for dinner and packed after 6 or 7pm(especially on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays) but always worth it, in my humble opinion.

WHAT?! I thought I reviewed Mizu already! I guess not! I’ve only been to Mizu once and that was with my parents. I was so surprised that they were willing to drive so far just to dine at a sushi buffet. 1) They’re Asian and cheap with gas. 2) They don’t even like sushi all that much! Apparently, all their friends raved about how good Mizu was so they had to try for themselves. I forget how much it was but if my mom says it’s cheap, it MUST be cheap. What my family loved about Mizu was that they served sushi(for me) and Chinese food(for everyone else). The sushi was a lot better than the average buffet sushi and they had a wider variety than other buffets I’ve been to. The Chinese food wasn’t bad, either! They have OYSTERS! Too bad my family doesn’t eat oysters, I don’t know why I was so happy to exclaim that they had oysters =P The reason why I only give Mizu three stars is because I found my new love, Fuji. However, if you’re dining with people who aren’t big fans of sushi, I believe Mizu is perfect!

I know I scarfed down well over $ 9 worth of Chinese hot buffet items and sushi while exploring Mizu’s lunch buffet for the first time. The sushi was great and ranged from simple pieces to the fancy rolls with crunchies and striped with sauce. The wasabi paste was a creamier whipped consistency than I’m used to, but it had plenty of heat. I dropped a dollop on my sushi assuming it was weak stuff only to have the top of my skull lift off my earballs! I soon found the correct dosage and totally enjoyed the fresh fish and rice. Splendiliferosity! The lunch buffet runs from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday thru Sunday. When I and my friend dined(closer to 3:30), some of the hot buffet items were suffering from extended heat lamp exposure. So be aware that the chow mein might be a little chewier and the egg rolls a little less crispy than if you hit the buffet earlier. Somehow, none of these issues deterred me from making at least three trips back to the buffet. I’ll be back to do more damage to my waistline if I dare to drive to Roseville again(gotta love that«wall» of commuter traffic).
