Had my 40th birthday party there last night with all my fab friends and it was great. The staff treated us great and had a whole section reserved for us in a great location. We took the dance lesson at 8pm and had so much fun! The band was excellent and we were all dancing throughout the night. They even brought me a cupcake with a candle for me to blowout. Absolutely a fabulous time! Will be back for a girl’s night soon!

Loved the vibe, the size, and the location. Went and saw a country cover band last Saturday night(they rocked). Drinks were reasonable price, good food, comfy chairs and large dance floor made it fun! I wish I would have walked into this place sooner. The old style finishing of this place is awesome. Definitely will be back.

Terrible service from the bartenders! Rude & unfriendly! Unsanitary handling of the bar condiments & money. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to order from the bar. Lord knows what these girls have been handling & then making ur drink. ugh! First & last time ever!

Kevin is a GREAT bartender. This place has so much potential to be a great bar for Roseville but it isn’t marketed right. Kevin is charming & I would highly recommend him as a bartender. The opera house as a whole though? You need to step your game up. It’s a shame to see such an awesome place failing.

Located in Old Roseville, the Opera House is ideally situated amongst a handful of bars and clubs. This was our second time visiting, we came here with some friends to listen to a band. I really like the set up here. There’s a bar downstairs, where you can enjoy cocktails and play pool before a show. They recently added a really nice outdoor patio with comfy patio furniture. There’s misters for the warm days and a fire pit for the cold. They have the outdoor patio area designated for acoustic music. Now, the upstairs is where it’s at! There’s a large stage and dance floor. Plenty of tables and booths, if you want to reserve a table, you can do that too! We found this out when we tried looking for a table next to the dance floor. Those were all taken because on this night, they were taken by a Meetup and Bachelorette party. There were all different age groups and the crowd was laid back. I’m sure this varies with the different bands. I liked that they had giant fans on facing the dance floor so you don’t get drenched in sweat. There is table service, but we ended up ordering at the bar. The drinks were good and not overpriced like some venues. Another plus was that you can order apps, although it was a limited menu, it’s still nice having that option. We ordered cheese sticks, fries, wings, and chicken strips. They were all pretty tasty, no complaints.

The patio downstairs at the Opera House is wonderful for hanging out when the weather is warm with the fire pit, fountains and acoustic music Thursday through Sunday. The dance floor and stage is the largest in Roseville with swing dancing Tuesday, line dancing Wednesday and Thursday and live music on the weekends. Definitely a great place to come hand out even just to play pool or listen to the jukebox.!!

I have been here a few times to see The Spazmatics a 80’s music cover band. They are a fun band to watch! Can’t wait for them to return I love when they are somewhere local. The Opera House is a pretty building inside and out. They keep it clean and staffed pretty well. I forget they offer food also. I was smelling some great food last time I was there. I ordered the egg rolls they were small but very yummy! The staircase is a little scary to walk up so be careful its old and narrow. Once you are up stairs its a large room great to dance! They also have an outside deck I don’t feel cramped at all when other people are out there too. Inside they have booths and many high top tables and chairs. But sometimes its hard to find a place to sit. I heard if you pay more you can reserve a table that’s crazy and most are pretty far from the stage. If I am going to pay extra to sit I would at least want to see the stage. But if the music is good I won’t be sitting. Sometimes the tables are to close to the dancing area. They need to push them back a little more and maybe they should have a little more apace in between each table. Sometimes they feel to close to each other. The wait and bar staff are great! Sometimes it feels like they could use a little more bar and floor wait staff help. The women’s restroom is just beautiful and a little sound proof lol if you need a little girl talk time you can actually hear each other.

Very fun, this is more of an older crowed which I do not mind because there was ZERO drama! I went on a Friday night $ 10.00 cover at door. The drinks were at normal price but a little light on the alcohol. They had a live band and they were good. I danced almost the whole time. I have no complaints what so ever.

Went last night to see wonder bread 5. Paid $ 13 dollars a ticket and $ 20 to get a reserved table. You need to reserve a table if you want seats otherwise plan to stand most of the night. No one came to take drink orders but the staff at the bar were super nice and fast. I recommend the fire cider it’s a cinnamon whiskey with apple cider. Fun place, great music, big dance floor and nice atmosphere.

For those unfamiliar with the town of Roseville. it is about 30 miles North of Sacramento. While there, if you are thirsty for an ice cold beer and want to enjoy a nice evening out with friends… do not visit this establishment. The upstairs area has a live band, and the cover is $ 5 per person. I was one in a party of 5 and we chose to stay downstairs to play pool and have drinks. I had an open tab for over 3 hours, and at 1:15 am I wanted to walk upstairs with my sister to take a look at the upstairs room. The other 3 people in my party stayed downstairs. The security guard Steve told us to come back down. I explained that we waited until late in the night to go take a look in case we would like to return. He told us to pay the $ 5 cover charge or get off the steps. Okay…So… this is one of my first experiences in Northern California. Im hoping this is not the standard. Being an Angelino, maybe I am accustomed to a high standard when it comes to customer service. I know what it takes to make money. I am well aware of the level of service business owners expect their employees to deliver to be sucessful. I had a conversation with security man ‘STEVE’ before I left. He said his owner was right there and so he had to prevent me from going upstairs. I can tell you all I have never been treated like this at a club, bar, restaurant, etc. and you can see from past ratings I am not dramatic… so I explained to him that his owner is the first person who would expect. him to exercise good judgement because he expects and needs to make money. Long story short… half of my party remained downstairs… the bartender had my credit card tab open… I’m a 45 year old business woman who looks like just that… and I had 4 people with me that were all over 45 years old, and dressed nicely. Was he afraid I was going to take advantage of the upstairs room for 5 minutes before last call? Unbelievable. It ruined the experience, which until that point had been ok. Hey Steve, ask your owner if he appreciates your inability to distinguish dumb ass young people who are avoiding the cover from customers who have money to spend in any way they please, and would like to see if your place is worthy of a future visit. Not returning. Figure it out people.

I have mixed feelings about this place, so I’ll break it down with pros and cons. Pros: –the bar itself is beautiful and the upstairs is awesome, overall a great venue. –the security staff is phenomenal. The guy at the door was super friendly, and made me feel comfortable right off the bat. The other guy upstairs was friendly as well and was cool about asking me to switch cups when I went out to smoke. Security gets 5 stars –bartenders were nice and efficient, good drinks reasonable prices. Bartenders get 4 stars –the band was tone monkeys, pretty good music can’t wait to come back for a country night. Music gets 4 stars Cons: the only issue I have with this bar is the owners. The owner was kind of weird and seemed to be overly friendly with his female patrons. Not so cool. But even worse was an extremely rude woman I later found out was his wife. I noticed her stalking around and being kind of snappy with people, but hey people can have a bad day right? Then I found it was the owners wife and I was kind of disgusted. You don’t treat your patrons like garbage with a snotty attitude. You just don’t. Get off your high horse lady and be nice. Overall I love the bar but the owners really kind of ruined it for me. I’ll be back but only if they aren’t there.

Came here for a band. Wonderbread 5, they bring crowds anywhere they play. The good: Upstairs is a nice big room with a good dance area and It works well for bands. The bad: 1) Very poorly run and managed They sold tickets for $ 10, I bought mine online for ease of entry. So I got there and you stand in a VERY slow line because they are selling tables for people to sit at. Huh??? This isnt Vegas or Miami, but if you actually wanted a chair to sit on they sold them to you above and beyond your ticket price. I went to dance, so didnt care, but had to stand there about 20 min while the staff worked off of a hand written drawing of tables to sell to the couples in front of me. The nonsense continues inside while they let those people go upstairs first, one table at a time. I waited there another 45min… a joke! 2) Staff is kept in the dark about everything. I looked at website right before coming and it stated they served well drinks from 6−9pm for $ 3. Staff knows nothing of that and they charge double It goes on and on, but my point is that this place needs a real manager, not just the owner making this nonsense up as he goes along. Not going back as I actually like to relax and have a good time when going out, not deal with all of this waiting, not knowing etc.

The place is really nice. The interior is all wood and they have tidy bathrooms. But that’s the only pluses. I wanted to see the upstairs but I couldn’t tolerate the place much longer. Made the mistake of going on Friday night. They had exactly 1 bartender to serve everyone. There was a Led Zeppelin cover band playing so the place was packed. After waiting 16 minutes for a refill we bailed and skipped the cover band. Horrible beer selection. On tap crappy Sam Adams Cold Snap, nasty Blue Moon, Racer 5 dirt beer, and two disgusting Coors choices. I ordered a Guinness Draught from the bottle and the bartender had to go upstairs to get it. LAME! They serve appetizers but were out of pork sliders at 8pm. And the rest of the stuff is all fried so if you sit at the bar you can smell the grease of the deep fryer. Ewwww. Two servers showed up around 8:30pm looking like ladies of the evening. One had spiderweb tights, a shitload of jailhouse tattoos, and a dress that was painted on it was so tight. The other figured shirts were déclassé’ so she just wore a black rhinestoned bra with a shrug sweater. These two were definitely ready to hustle for some tips but couldn’t help the swamped bartender. They couldn’t even close out my tab for me, they were just useless. Definitely won’t come back on a weekend because I’d die of thirst here. Maybe a weekday or if it goes under new management.

I’ve only come here on Tuesdays for West Coast Swing lessons, and the place is awesome! The venue, the staff, the people who come out — all fantastic. I haven’t come out on the weekends, and haven’t encountered any of the issues that other folks are posting… maybe it’s a different crowd for West Coast Swing?

If I were a fan of live country music this place would get a five easily. The downstairs bar is decent in size and has a lot of western themed woodwork lining the walls. The bartenders are quick and nice and drinks aren’t overly priced. The upstairs has a very large auditorium where live bands play. When I was there that cost $ 10 to go, it might be free other nights. Cool to check out if you want a new bar in Old Town Roseville.
