The salad was iceberg lettuce. The manager is berating the employee«where is your head. You need to focus» loud enough for us to hear. The waitress gives us the credit card slip for another customer. That customer only tipped her 10%. LOL

We had another delicious lunch yesterday. Started with their yummy salad. I had the calamari with shrimp special & substituted grilled zucchini(instead of broccoli). Best calamari steak ever! My husband had the pastry lasagna with tortellini. He swears this is the best pasta he has ever eaten. The owner greeted us, and also was our server. He is very accommodating allowing us to make changes to our entrees at minimal costs. Many restaurants won’t allow that. Great food, great, friendly service & pleasant, quiet atmosphere. You won’t regret patronizing this lovely restaurant.

I love to eat here. They have a big menu and everything I have ever ordered is delicious. I particularly like the spaghetti and salad. Good food, good service, good price and just a pleasant place to eat. Family run restaurant.

Server was alone, and seemed unmotivated. The food was of mediocre quality, and not as decried in the menu. I asked if they have a creamy pesto sauce, as mentioned in another review I read here, and the server said sure. What I got was basically olive oil and some basil. Nothing creamy about it. Minestrone was not bad, but not fantastic. When I got my check, I was charged more than the menu price for one item. When I mentioned it to the server, there was no apology, and what appeared to be an angry reaction. I will never eat there again. Roseville will be a better community when this place closes.

OMGosh! Had the Chicken with Artichoke Raviolis and Mushrooms in a creamy masala sauce for dinner tonight. It was soooo good! The chicken was so juicy and tender. Loved the grilled flavor and the mushrooms were cooked to perfection. Great service and the food never disappoints. They’ve redone their menu, some of the old favorites and some awesome new ones. Go and try some, you won’t be disappointed.

Let me start off by saying this isn’t my first time here and I loved strings! I ordered pick up and upon arrival I was greeted and they were still preparing my order. I waited for about 10 minutes then they handed me all the food. I came home after a long day and was STARVING. Appetizer: Artichoke Dip 10⁄10 Super cheesy and flavorful. The bread that came with it was paired really nicely. I would get this again! Main Dish: Fehttuchini Chicken Alfredo 1⁄10 I cannot express to everyone just how disgusting this was. I tried to drench it in salt but, that didn’t help. I think I honestly made it worse! The chicken didn’t taste like it was cooked fully, very dry and the flavor was just awful. The noodles were cooked(thank god). The Alfredo sauce was probably takes the cake in being just awful. The worse tasting Alfredo I have EVER had! It almost tasted like there was WAY too much butter or they use mayonnaise I don’t know which one… I couldn’t even finish it because it was soooo awful. Dessert: Tiramisu 9⁄10 OMG. My favorite dessert of all time. That’s why I loved this place! I was happy to see that everything looked the same and was served the same EXPECT, the portion was A LOT smaller than they used to serve it… Taste was wonderful of course. At the end of the day, I won’t be returning here… I was so disappointed with just how disgusting my main dish was. I hope they find a way to improve because they have obviously gone down hill. Very down hill.

My go to place for traditional italian cravings. The staff is always helpful, the food is prepared with fresh ingredients, and most of all the atmosphere is perfect. The man who helped us during the lunch hour was such a great entertainer as well. Also probably the best thing ever is their vodka sauce! It is so rich and creamy yet so simple and delicious. My family keeps coming back for more.

The salad is yummy, and so is the fettuccine Milano. Service can be faster, and better considering they don’t ever seem to be packed.

Strings is aight. This is one of the better locations. I appreciated the waiting staff’s willingness to put up with our birthday party crowd yesterday evening, but then again the place was dead. This place is always dead. Our waitress even brought our birthday boy spumoni with a fancy candle. My moscato was decent, and our waitress filled my glass with more than the usual piddly amount restaurants have taken to using as the standard. I think that Strings on the whole functions pretty well as a wine bar, because the selection is good and the staff is well trained in wine recommendations and serving methods. As a full restaurant though, it is pretty lacking. The food just is not that great. I’ve never liked anything here, and I’m not even picky. I ordered a margherita pizza this time, and though the crust was pretty good, the middle was soggy and goopy. The cheese and sauce lacked flavor, and it hadn’t even been cut well enough to eat. I ate it with a fork because it was falling apart. The salad was ok, but I was not a fan of the dressing. I’ve ordered other dishes here that also made for a lackluster experience. Bottom line: Serves as a functional wine bar with appetizers, and has a nice waitress that does her job to the expert level, but beyond that, not a first choice on my list.

This is one of my favorite Italian eateries. Its small and laid back just enough to provide a relaxing atmosphere with a diverse menu not overly complicated.

I miss the old days of Strings. Years ago they used to have a ‘kids eat free for dinner’ on Tuesdays or Wednesdays. The bread came out on pizza trays and were cut in nice little slices. Now they look like leftover scraps from reject loafs of bread tossed in a basket. You don’t get free salad anymore. I used to be satisfied with getting a bowl of their salad(I like the dressing) and some soup but they no longer have them together as a main dish option; they only come as an appetizer for other things. The menu used to be this one or two page thing with simple dishes but now its a little more upscale and a bit pricier. The food is still good though. I guess this place reminded me of a mini Olive Garden all those years ago but now its like they’re trying to go towards being a fancy restaurant instead. Even though I still get the feeling I’m dining in someone’s living room every time I go here. But I still have an issue with them putting too much ice in my glass. I ordered a drink, not a cup of ice.

Only 4 stars and I will explain why I took one away. The food was unbelievably good. I haven’t had Italian that good in… Well, I don’t know that I have ever had Chicken Picatta that good. Most of the time, it tastes either like Lemon Pledge or overly salty this dish was spot on. Bright, flavorful, savory without being heavy handed on the capers. The only thing I disliked was the service. Our waitress was outstanding. Very attentive but not overbearing. It just took forever for the food to come out. The place wasn’t that busy, so there was no excuse for slow service like that. Very great experience other than slow food.

When I think of Strings the only word that comes to mind is ICK. I have been here three times. Two of those times is because for some strange reason my step-mother loves this place and chooses it for her birthday dinner. Last time we were there there was a man celebrating his 80something birthday. I think this place must be popular with the older set. I have never enjoyed a meal here. The first two times I was here I got the Fettucine Milano. For some reason this meal does not agree with me and both times my stomach was upset that evening. It was very oily, so maybe that is why? I don’t have a sensitive stomach so I’m not sure what it is. The third time I visited I wisened up and ordered something different. I ordered the Lasagna pastry. I love to eat but I could not even finish this. It was very bland. The white sauce had no flavor to it. My stomach was not upset that evening, though, so that is a plus. Every time I’ve visited service was good. Unfortunately, the food leaves much to be desired.

Went in for all you can eat pasta. Pretty sure there is a scheme involved here since it may be all you can eat, but that’s only if the waitress comes by more than once for your order. I myself can only handle one plate of pasta with the salad and bread they serve you. But surprisingly enough(to the waitress) I can handle more than one glass of water. We had to ask another waiter to fill our water and teas more than once. When she brought our orders, many of them were wrong. Oh and when my sister asked that she eventually receive the Heineken she ordered, the waitress rudely told her«Ya I’m bringing it!» Now you may throw out the argument, «Hey Ana it’s all you can eat pasta night, I’m sure they were busy, cut her some slack.» Valid point, thank you. However, they were more than overstaffed to accommodate large amounts of people. The service was beyond sub-par and the prices were high.

I’ve eaten at Strings at the other location a couple of times and always remembered it being very good with healthy portions. The other location has now been replaced with a Thai restaurant. So this is my first time at this Strings. Service here was just okay. I ordered the MINESTRONESOUP. My mother and her friend ordered the HOUSESALAD. The soup was pretty good. The waitress indicated she would bring out our bread shortly. I ate the soup slowly waiting for that fresh bread and it never came. So disappointing. That right there did it for me. I’m not sure why a restaurant that serves fresh bread just doesn’t keep it going during dinner time. The wait was such a turn off. I ordered CHICKENPARMESAN. The chicken was good but it was served with LINGUINI with ALFREDOSAUCE. It just doesn’t go together. And there was very little. Olive Garden is much better in my opinion.

I love Strings! The house salad with creamy Italian dressing is wonderful! They serve a dish called Lasagna Pastry that’s excellent! It’s a tasty lasagna wrapped in a flaky Philo pastry shell. They top it with Alfredo on one side and Marinara on the other! This keeps me coming back over and over! Wednesday nights they have an all you can eat pasta special! Only about 8.00 and you get all you can eat bread, salad and pasta! There are several different pastas and sauces to mix and match. This meal doesn’t include meat(unless you order meat sauce) but you can add chicken, sausage, etcetera… For a Few dollars more. If your not eating on Wednesday, check around for a coupon. I’m sure you’ll find one!

long wait Came here for dinner one evening, party of three. We were seated right away… so far so good. Server took awhile to take our orders, 10 minutes before she got to our table. At least we got our glasses of water. Waiting, waiting, waiting… oh yay! we got bread! All gone… five minutes later our salad came. Ate all… now the loooong wait. About 40 minutes later our meals came. Wow! how long does it take to make spaghetti w/meatballs and chicken Alfredo pizza. Daughter had a kids meal — chicken tenders w/side of fries and mac&cheese.. She didn’t enjoy it. The meal was bland and she didn’t even touch the mac and cheese. Server was not too friendly, although she tried not to show it we can tell she got upset when my daughter wanted ice-cream for dessert. Perhaps she had already prepared the bill for us and was inconvenienced that she had to add another entry to get a new total. Well, all I can remember on my first time dining here is the long wait… that’s all we did. At least my other daughter enjoyed her spaghetti w/meatballs and my chicken Alfredo pizza was okay(diced chicken breast, Italian cheese and Alfredo sauce) … it was mostly crust, though. Last thing, if you are using a DoubleTakeDeal… please print first! They do not scan the barcode from your phone to get the discount. They want a physical paper copy of the coupon. That offer is only at this Douglas location. Mondays and Wednesdays Kids Eat Free. At least that meal came free. It would’ve cost $ 4.99. I prefer the service at the Fairway location. I can’t use the deal there :(
