Walt’s doughnut stand is a novelty of Denio’s. A place that you must stop at when you’re in the area. Needs a little clean up and a bigger selection, but consistently good mini doughtnuts for cheap. regularly gives you more doughnuts than what you pay for. 18 for 2 bux or 12 for a buck fifty. Tastes even better when the sound track is being looped over the PA. He opens around 8AM and closes when the rush slows down around 4 or so.

I’m a sucker for gimmicks. When I heard the faint voice persuading me to «get your fresh donuts here! 8 for 0.50, 18 for 1.00!» I couldn’t help but make my way over to the little 7 X 3 trailer from the 1950’s. Inside the trailer is the sweetest old man, and the coolest mini donut contraption. The donuts are really fresh and make Krispy Kreme look generic. Last time I went here I waited half an hour in the sun for 1.00 worth of donuts. The lines are long on sunny days but if you get there later on in the day you won’t have to suffer like me. The old man serving you from the little window is so cute and happy, it just makes it more of an experience. Plus, since I was so patient, he gave me 30 instead of 18. Now that is true customer service! Come by, give him some business, and have some sugar cinnamon-y goodness.

People line up in the heat of Denio’s, all beckoned by the call of Walt, announcing«Mini Donuts 8 for 50 cents or 18 for $ 1. Stop on by! Take a bag home!» Or something like that. The fact that they come straight out of the fryer and into your greasy little bag makes them pretty good. And Walt manages to stay friendly, even while making donuts all day in a hot, greasy trailer. Walt’s is located in the Auction Town area behind Jimboy’s, across the street from the main Denio’s area.
