The pastelitos are definitely one of the best I tasted. Not salty nor greasy, (there are some that are very salty and the grease is leaking out). I also bought the chicken and pernil mofongo. Wow! They are the best. Again not salty and lots of meat. Was hesitant to try this place out, but im very glad I did.

Whoa! Always said i was gunna stop and try the food here but didnt untill tonight! I got a goat meat plate with dominican rice & plantain, VERY GOOD. Born here in America but Father Jamaican as EVER! FULL BLOODED! So because of him i KNOW MY GOAT! always associated goat with Jamaica Never once taking in the fact they say «difference between the DR, Haiti, Jamaica ect is only a boat stop!» Yall did the Goat justice lol will be back!

Bani has the best pastelitos in the area! The yellow rice is cooked perfect & the beef stew melts in your mouth. The food is always fresh and like it comes from your own kitchen.

I’m white af. Place didn’t have a menu up so I had to skulk around to find one. However this place was piff city. Chicarones were ON POINT. Just eat here for christ sake.

This place is awful

Never know what to expect here… I recommend calling ahead if you’re craving something because there’s always something on the menu that they don’t have.

HORRIBLE. Basically if you are craving food that has been sitting around and refried which makes it the consistency of leather, this is the place for you. Fried pork strips– thin, over fried & dry. The kingfish, which is usually juicy and flavorful was fried so long that I could actually physically knock on it, the fish was so dry that it was like chewing on cotton balls, those sad little limes thrown in couldn’t rehydrate the fish even if 20 limes had been thrown in. When we called to let them know, we were told «then tell me not to fry it so long.» Really? I should have never strayed from the always on point Latino Restaurant in JP. Never will again. Not even worth a star.

These 3 stars are no way to scare you away from this restaurant. I really enjoy coming here, the food is great and the service is super friendly. But, there’s always room for improvement I say.
Bani is a small establishment, about 8 – 10 tables plus counter take out service. The food here is authentic dominican/​latin food. They have a full menu made to order but they also have pastellios/​beef empanadas, papa rellenos (fried potatoes filled with beef) and other prepared food ready for take out.
My favorite here is the white rice, beans, bistec encebollado (steak and grilled onions). Ask for a side of maduros (sweet fried plantains). This all comes with a house salad with beets in vinegar and oil dressing. All this food is for about under $ 15 and will feed two people. I usually take a doggy bag and that’s a full lunch for the next day. I recommend ordering the piña colada to wash it all down. So good!
One gripe about this place is the service. The times I’ve gone there’s only been one person taking orders, serving, and handling the take out counter. It can get a little busy during dinner hours and the weekends. You might have to wait a bit if you need something.
I won’t say it’s the best latin food in Boston but it’s consistent and the food is good. I feel like the price is a bit high. I can go to another bigger latin restaurant and get the same food for about $ 1 or $ 2 less and a better presentation but like I said, the people are just so nice and you taste the love they put into their food. Also, I need to support my latinos and small business owners. :)

I am surprised nobody has reviewed this place being that it is right on the main street in Rozzie. It is a small Dominican restaurant. The type of place that is kinda counter service, kinda table service. There is 1 person waiting on the counter etc but she will bring your food and drinks over to a table. Unfortunately the second there was more than 1 table it got crazy. I had Goat Stew which was delicious, the flavor very reminiscent of Jamaican food actually. My fiancé had the fried pork chops which were way overcooked and unbelievably salty. They have a decent menu but I found it a bit pricey for the quality of the restaurant. From what I understood a lot of the items on the menu are only available on specific days, that is not indicated anywhere until you order and they just say, «nope don’t have it.» All in all it is fine for a quick takeout place that we can walk to but not somewhere I would go out of my way to dine.
