Dandelions Flower Shop

Dandelions did a great job w/​our wedding flowers. Karen was great to work with. I know nothing about flowers and said i like hydrangeas. our wedding was january 10^th and wanted something seasonal, but not christmasy. she quickly whipped up something in the shop to give me an idea… it was great. we discussed the containers they’d be in, i suggested mercury glass — she said she’d try to get something for me, but might cost a bit more. she found something that sounded great. when i saw the finished product, i loved it! also, we weren’t doing a traditional wedding where i was walking down an isle and needed a bouquet. she talked me into it and i’m glad she did. they were beautiful. simple white roses that were tasteful, elegant and simple… which is exactly what i was looking for. she was going to get some seasonal garland for us — and had a great prince — but when she found out the restaurant had some already, she suggested we just work w/​that and tweak it to coordinate w/​our flowers. it worked well and saved us some money. i highly recommend karen and her shop dandelions in rozzy village!

My fiancé and I always try to go local, especially in Roslindale Square. One of our favorite places is Dandelion’s. The woman in there (I’m sorry I dont know her name) is the same woman that has always helped us and has always done a tremendous job. She works with you based on size, colors, cost and occasion. They might not have the largest selection of flowers, but they have always had what I needed.
One day, we went into get flowers for my sister-​in-​law and she put together a miniature bouquet for my 5 year old niece. She even put fairy dust on it! I’m constantly in awe watching her whip up a bow from scratch all while making friendly conversation with us.
There is so much character and warmth in that shop. When I walk by with my dog, she always waves at me through the window to say hello. Dandelion’s is a great asset to the community and I will continue giving them my business.

I am a Roslindale resident, and after reading the good reviews decided to try this florist when our friend’s mother passed away. We were extremely disappointed with the flower arrangement delivered to the funeral home. When we spend $ 55+ on flowers, we expect them to look considerably better than what we could have cut and put into a vase from our own back yard. This wasn’t it. We had discussed a pastel arrangement. When I think pastels, I think of soft pinks, peaches, baby blues and pale yellows. What we got was green and purple flowers and precious few of them. Nothing like the lovely pastel arrangement I had envisioned from our phone conversation. Now, I can understand that in the right setting an arrangement like this might look «cool» and contemporary, but this was a traditional wake, and frankly in this setting, this arrangement just looked inappropriate and ugly. It was embarrassing. If we had paid half the money, I might feel better about it, but not much better. We’ve used other florists many times and have never been this dissatisfied.
When I complained, the owner countered by saying that she didn’t realize I wanted pastel colors (even though I said the word pastels more than once), and that the (few) flowers in the arrangement were a antique dutch variety of very high quality, and hardly could be found in any backyard here in New England. Sorry, not buying it. They were still inappropriate for that situation, not what I asked for, and way too few flowers for the money. (And we weren’t the only ones who thought so.) We won’t be calling again.

I walked in the store needing only a single long stem rose and a card. Karen, the owner, immediately asked if she could help me with anything. She helped me pick out a rose, and then showed me the card selection. Even though I was making a small purchase, she treated me as though I was a valued and important customer.
They have an awesome selection of flowers, and a decent card selection as well. The owner is an extremely nice person, and you can tell she has a passion for what she does.
Bottom line, I’m glad I found this place.

I highly recommend Dandelions. Karen, the owner, is a riot. We went to her for our wedding flowers. She both listened to what we wanted and gave helpful, professional advice as well. The shop also handled delivery in a timely manner. We got many compliments on our wedding flowers and will be sure to go to Dandelions the next time we need flowers.

Karen is great, great, great! she did my wedding flowers which were incredible, she clearly loves working with flowers and it shows, she does a beautiful job, and is so reasonable with prices!
