Beautiful park, but what’s up with the lack of parking and almost zero parking on the neighborhood streets? Made it sound pretty pretentious, but the hiking trails(mostly flat) had great views of Mount Tam. I wish there were clearer signs for Mt Baldy summit, but we went off trail and looped around the lake for 5 miles.

Amazing lushness… Walked from Ross Commons Post through this park on the way to Phoenix L. So pretty, the gentle uphill awe-inspiring jaunt of varied architecture, glancing million dollar estates. Very pretty for some exercise, so close-by. Loved.

Can’t really diss this place because it is free and provides access into Mt Tam watershed; closest attraction being Phoenix Lake. Good Luck getting a parking spot. It is always full Fri-Sun and any holiday. Rather than spend time in my car waiting for someone to come back from their walk and jockey for their park spot, I start my walk down in town or knab one of the few spots in the residential area. This does add on a few miles but hey, that’s why we are all coming here in the first place; for a walk.

There are two paths… one is the yuppie path and the other is the hippie path. I of course go left for a beautiful hike into the lush forest and to see the beautiful water. If you go right you will run into more local families using the bike paths. This is a great place to go on a foggy day in SF when you really need some of that warm sun everyone inland is getting. The one irritating thing is when its hot and you are sunbathing you can’t jump into the beautiful, clear reservoir! Kills me every time. There aren’t many people up there, which also makes it a really peaceful hike.

This ride leads past several of the lakes in the MMWD. Starting at Greene Park you ride up to Phoenix Lake and then up on to Shaver Grade until you reach the intersection called four corners. Shaver Grade continues after four corners to the end at Sky Oaks Road. A brief stretch on the road will lead you to Bullfrog road. On Bullfrog you will pass Bön Tempe and Lake Lagunitas. Some amazing scenery along these lakes and some cool spots to fish.(Make sure you have a permit). You will then follow the fire roads back down to Phoenix lake and then Greene Park. Please reference a trail map before you go.
