My family’s done business with them ever since we’ve moved into the area around 11 years ago. I just had them repair a belt loop on a pair of jeans, as well as hem and clean a suit I purchased recently. In my experience, they’ve always had a reasonable turnaround period, although they’re a bit more expensive than other cleaners I’ve been to. They also lost the original hanger I initially brought my suit in on. When I asked them about it, they claimed they don’t make much of an effort to keep them together. I was a little annoyed with this response, but they at least made an effort to make it right and sent me on my way with a similar one. Granted, this was a rookie mistake on my part, but it’s something to be aware of. That said, they will get the job done. I might shop around for another cleaner with better prices, but they’ll suffice if you’re in a pinch.

Art Cleaners is my desperation dry cleaners. Less than a mile from home, their«in by 9am ready by 5pm» service always seems to lure me in. «How awesome!» I think. «I’ll drop these of on the way to work and pick them up on my way home! I’ll be able to wear this sweater tomorrow!» And so in good faith, I’ll drop my items off at 7:45 in the morning, and the professional staff assures me that they will be ready by 5 that evening. But then, life gets in the way. I remember that my New Year’s resolution is to go to the gym after work, and by the time I finally make it to the Cleaners, they are closed. Now, normally this wouldn’t be such a problem, but I just paid almost $ 6 to get one sweater dry cleaned so that I could wear it tomorrow. But of course, I screwed up and missed my pick up deadline. Now, I’m not taking off two stars just because of my own personal negligence, but perhaps I wouldn’t kick myself so much for not being able to pick up my dry cleaning if the prices were just a little more reasonable. Even better, if I could pick an option for non-expedited service, for those times when I would rather pay a little less and wait a little longer. One nice perk is that Art Cleaners is not one of those stores that sticks an «Alterations» sign in the window for good measure. They actually have a large alteration section in the front of the store. I have never personally used this service, but they always have two ladies industriously hemming and sewing, so they must be getting some good neighborhood business. Overall, Art Cleaners does a good job, but you will probably be more likely to find me at the«Any Item $ 1.99» place a couple of miles up the street.
