I was a patient of Dr D’s in the late 1980’s for treatment of TMJ. He was the first healthcare provider to discover that I had an old break, which was never treated, to my left jaw. Dr D was beginning to use a somewhat new approach at the time by treating the body as a whole with relation to the symptoms of TMJ. I suffered severe muscle spasms in my shoulders and upper back. Dr D fitted me with a bite splint, which I wore constantly, injected the spasms with carbocaine through fine needles, and applied moist heat to my back on a weekly basis. This gave me tremendous relief. Dr Dierkes sent me to a surgeon who told me I needed to have the old break repaired. Unfortunately, other health issues prevented my continued treatment. I drove over 100 miles weekly for these treatments because they were so effective. Dr D and his staff treated each patient as if they were the only one with great professionalism and human kindness. Dr D also handled my son’s orthodontic needs. Dr Dierkes is the best in his field.

Dr. Dierkes was my orthodontist when I was a teenager. Now I have an 8 year old that I drive all the way across town for appointments to see Dr. D. There’s no one else I’d let put braces on my kid. Some people tell me it’s too early for my son to have braces, but Dr. D takes to time to explain why it’s important to start young. He genuinely cares about his patients well being in more ways than just straight teeth.
My son has a narrow mouth, so as his baby teeth were falling out, there wasn’t enough room for the adult teeth to come in. Dr. D’s is helping us, not only widen his mouth and straighten his teeth, but also figure out what is causing the narrow mouth to begin with and how to correct it holistically.
