Went to lunch with colleagues, two of us ordered a salad that tasted sour as if something was spoiled. We both alerted the manager, her attitude was terrible. We both asked for a small sandwhich only and they were $ 3 less than the salad we paid for, we did not ask for a refund of any sort however the offer would have been polite customer service. It then took them 30 mintutes to get the sandwhiches to us which were poorly prepared. When the Manager brought them(I think her name is Jennifer) her attitude was still pitiful. We all have bad days however the customers should never know about it. We will not be returning to this restaurant as the employees saw this behavior and just smiled about it.

I like the brisket and cheddar… warning: it’s a lot of food! The store is generally clean and well run. I’ve never experienced any bad service or food here. The site also has a covered patio that’s out of the sun but the furniture is covered in bird turds so watch out.

Brought in a group of 8 people who mostly ordered different subs with chips and drinks. All tasted good but took a little while to come with not many other customers around. Their cash register had issues in charging over $ 90 with a credit card so we had to split the bill in half which unfortunately took them about 10 minutes to figure out.

Love Firehouse. This location is horrible, the manager is ridiculous and the team members are looking up to the not so great manager. Went in after making an online order which was supposed to be ready at 11.45am. There was a short line but not too bad. My order was paid for and I walked in at 11.40am. I asked one of the employees about my order, she went and check a bag on the back counter and said it wasn’t ready yet. I stood there and waited. At 12pm I asked the manager about the order and she said«the girl told you to stand in line», I replied with, no, she said it was not ready. She went and grabbed that same bag, 20 minutes later, and said we told you to stand in line, I’m not trying to be rude but she told you. Excuse me? It’s lunch hour and you treat people like this?

When dropping off my car at Discount Tire, I asked the guy where a good place was to eat within walking distance, and he directed to FireHouse Subs next door. I had seen others and a friend had told me it was one of his favorite places to go. After reading the other reviews on here, I agree the sandwiches are awesome… for better than any other sub place I’ve been to in the Austin area, but as for complaints about the service… I think they were possibly isolated and over blown situations.

Good food, but the manager and employees are extremely rude. I’ll take money elsewhere, thanks.

Pretty horrible customer service. The employee, who turned my would be sandwich into a kurfuffle, kept on talking about how dirty their area was. He also botched my sandie on account of his dismissal of my sandies modifiers. They also botched my online order the last time I visited. I’m staying away from this location for a while.

First of all, corporate replied to my last review and gave me a coupon for a free meal, so kudos to them for that. I’ve since been back to this location several times, and the staff were very friendly, talkative… and got my order right. Seems like they’ve shaped things up there.

Never disappointed with this place. Every sandwich I try has beaten expectations. Place is always clean even during the lunch period.

I LOVE Firehouse Subs sandwiches, don’t get me wrong. I first had them in Houston, and always had a great experience from the location I visited there. Once I moved to Round Rock I was happy to see one so close to my place. Simply put, the service here is awful. The place is ran by kids. And not just saying that in a snide, up my own b kind of way, it really is ran by children. On par with Sonic staff, young. That being said, I have never once seen someone working there who looks older than 18, and they all do a horrible job of running the place. They don’t pay attention to the online orders they get, it seems, so that’s a no-go here.(Ridiculous. Don’t give me the option if you don’t even care to check if an order has come in.) They always get the sandwiches wrong if there are any special requests, and the store front itself is gross. All tables filled with crumbs and condiment smears. The service is horrible because as I said, it’s ran by kids who I guess don’t really need jobs, otherwise I feel they’d be more willing to give a #$%@ about their work. Rude, don’t seem to understand their computer system, and just bad. I honestly feel like they’re given the job and just thrown into it without any real guidance as to what is the right and wrong way of going about being a representation of the business. Because if these employees are anything to go by, I’d say Firehouse is an awful place. But they’re not, I love their subs. I just hate this location and their terrible staff. Got there to get a meatball sub to go. 2 people in front of me, yet it still took 20 minutes to get my food. Got back to work and my meatball sub was cut in two and in two smaller containers. Went to pick one half up and it fell apart. The bread was cut open like a hamburger bun. How the hell do you make a meatball sub and cut the bread like a hamburger bun? So, I’m at work, eating this with no utensils and 3 napkins, and all the meatballs are burnt on one side. Obviously I got the meatballs left at the bottom of the metal pan that had not been stirred. It was nasty, I was a mess and I wasted a lunch hour on this crap. Attached is a picture of the second half as I tried to pick it up

I really love the sweet and spicy meatball from Firehouse subs, but the last 4 times I have gone in to this location they have been out of meatballs. How can you have signs plastered all over the store advertising their meatballs, yet they are out. The last time I was there it was about 6:30pm and the manager on duty was all smiley and said they would have meatballs in the morning. How would them having product in the morning feed my family dinner? I will not be returning to this location.

I had the new pulled pork with the Hawaiian bread and coleslaw. It was pretty good into the first bite but I got tired of it fast. The coleslaw was a bit runny thus making my buns soggy. The pulled pork wasn’t exactly what I expected because I assumed it would’ve been BBQ’d. It just kind of reminded me of Ham chunks. Bf had a Philly cheesesteak without mayo and mustard– it was ok. But the cookie was good! So fresh and soft. I won’t be back because I didn’t really dig it. I should’ve gone to Chipotle or something.

Pros: The restaurant is a nice little place to catch a quick sub. Firehouse Subs is a decent little place located right around Austin, Texas. The staff is nice and the food is delicious. I recommend the italian sub. Cons: The dinning room is a little mediocre in comparison to the food.

Had the hook and ladder or something like that, and have to say I liked the sandwich. Sandwiches came out in a timely manner and I like all the hot sauce options. Place was clean not a lot of tables with trash, maybe one or two, employees were courteous and nice. Would like to try more before giving a full review, but I did think it was a little pricey, not too bad but could have be a dollar cheaper per sandwich.

This review is not for Firehouse Subs as a restaurant, but rather for this specific location. The service is horrible! Long wait even though we were the only ones waiting and there were five people behind the counter. They even got the order wrong and we had to send a sandwich back. The drink area was a mess. They were out of a bunch of different sodas. The lids were all gone and the whole counter was sticky with spilled soda. The floor was dirty with sandwich drippings. And most of the hot sauces were empty. Save yourself some frustration on go to the Firehouse on University Ave by IKEA.

I’ve eaten here probably 50 times since they opened a few years ago. Mostly due to co-workers who can’t get enough of them. First, I do like a couple of their deli-meat sandwiches. They have the obvious steamed taste, fresh veggies, etc. But they really are over-priced for what you get. The hot stuff, such meat ball and brisket type stuff is very inconsistent. I ate it twice in a row and it was awesome. Then the 3rd and 4th were pretty bad. Overall I’d say that are somewhat recommended. They just need to work on consistency and lower their prices just a bit.

This was a pretty good sandwich! I’m not really ever in the mood for a sandwich, and I detest hot subs for some reason(TURKEYANDMELTEDCHEESEDONOTGOTOGETHER). My husband had been talking about this chain since circa 2008 when we lived in Arlington, and it took a girlfriend of mine recently mentioning how good they are to convince me to try it. Anyway, so I went in with high expectations. Today was cold again in Austin(boo!) and when we pulled up the windows of Firehouse were foggy. Good sign of warm food cookin’ inside. The kid who took our order could have been friendlier, but maybe he was having a bad day. I got the smaller meatball sub on white. My husband got the larger brisket sub. They came out in a decent amount of time. That sandwich was GOOD, y’all! The bread was soft and warm, the sauce and cheese were warm and yummy, and the meatballs were really good. Not too big either, the meatballs. My husband really liked his sandwich, too. So with the exception of that kid’s poor attitude, this was a great experience! We’ll definitely be back for their yummies again =)

Great staff and great menu to suit your appetite. I remember coming here when they first opened years ago and over time, the quality and friendly staff have NOT changed. They serve large crowds during the weekday lunch rush and they serve EVERYONE with a compliment as well. Many choices to choose, but if you need my suggestion: Meatball Sub on Wheat with Captain Sorensons Sauce(Spicy Goodness). Additionally, their new Cajun sandwich with gravy is ah-mazingly good.

Hot steaming piles of meat on hot poufy bread. It’s hard to go wrong and Firehouse does a couple of things very right: – Steamed sandwiches. Whaaa? – Nice portions — big but not gutbusting – Cool new soda dispensing machine – Great chips selection – 1 billion hot sauces – 1 billion smiles when you walk in Sure, it’s a chain but it’s got a good story, peeps are friendly, it’s reasonably priced and you dont feel like the meat was at one point pink slime. They offer something different than your typical sandwich shop and given the limited selection of spots around Dell, ’tis not a bad spot at all.
