I’m a huge fan of records and have been wanting to check this place out for awhile. I found out that a record I wanted another copy of was being released and this store would have a few copies. Got there and the place was packed. The workers were rude to my sister and I when we asked a simple question. Asking if they had something they said yes but didn’t want to help us any further than that. It was apparently an easter egg hunt for records. We left after getting no help. I doubt I will be going back.

I moved to Round Rock a few months ago and had been meaning to check this place out for a while. I came in on Record Store Day with a few items on my wishlist. Unfortunately, they did not have what I was looking for but to their credit I was several hours in at that point. For a small record shop in the burbs I found their selection to be decent. Very competitive prices on vinyl and cds, but their used stuff seemed overpriced. I understand that business is probably hard to come by in Round Rock but it seems as if this place is having an identity crisis. Within the store there is a substore selling snapbacks, oversized shirts with ridiculous phrases, and all sorts of other silly merchandise. My six year old daughter made the comment«I can see that man’s underwear» when a kid in a wife beater with his pants honestly around his knees went strutting through the store… so there’s that. The guy working gave my daughter a frisbee on our way out which she was pumped about. I’ll pop in again but won’t go looking for anything specific.

Piranha is one of those places you have high hopes for. Nestled in the corner of a somewhat busy shopping center at IH35 and HWY79. I love shopping for music, but this place is catering more and more to the hip hop crowd by the day. I can’t fault them if that’s what’s selling for them, but it’s not what I’m there for. Occasionally they have something I want, or they’ll at least order it for you if you call to ask.

Decent selection of used DVDs and CDs. Vinyl isn’t their forte but they do carry new and old presses. Metal selection for CDs is above par. The rest of the CD section on on par with most CD stores. They even carry vintage video games. Staff could be a bit more assertive with finding things. Mostly caters to hip-hop. Also the store owner looks like a bit like David Cross so that’s cool.

DVD’s four for $ 20 and a small section of three for $ 10! Vinyl out the wazoo! Reasonable pricing! Old video game systems and games for several formats of expired consoles! Clothes and posters and various«lifestyle accessories»! The owner is friendly and the store is great! Parking is kind of a booger but well worth it! Just moved here from Dallas and happy as heck to find this place!

Gotta get the 3 for $ 20 when I go in there. More expensive than half price books but more selection.

It’s hard to believe this store has existed in Round Rock as long as it has, but thank goodness it has for those of us here in the ‘burbs. They participate in Record Store Day and have one of the best selections of Southern/Texas hip hop albums for those who like that genre. The prices aren’t the lowest on vinyl, but that’s to be expected from a small indie shop that lacks giant mega store buying power. I make it a point to shop there because it is up the road and Hastings closed. They also have the free local music mags and The Austin Chronicle.
