This place is seriously underrated. Great Chinese food! It’s a change from the usual Chinese food that we’re used to getting. All the noodles are handmade, interior is beautiful, free hot tea… loved it. will definitely be coming back again.

I’m not really sure why this has such a lower rating. Though I think it really helps to be able to speak chinese though. Some of the complaints and challenges I saw in the reviews might be over come if you speak chinese and dont expect terribly attentive service. But food is good, so who cares about if they have a huge fancy menu with a ton of edits haha. Pro –Food: Shanxi Noodle House offers some fairly unique items and flavors that typical chinese restaurants do not have(ex oat noodle etc). I thought the flavours were unique but still good. They have the classic noodle dishes– beef noodle soup, maoerduo, chowmein. ALSO they have daoxiaomian– knifecut noodles which they no longer do it by hand but with a fun machine. One of my favorites is the sweet potato pancakes(ithink thats what theyre called) quality is not always consistent but whne its fresh its crispy on the outside and chewy and sweet on the inside –Atmosphere, the furnishing and silverware/plateware is quite nice. compared to your typica chinese restaurant it makes it a nice atmosphere to bring friends Con: — Price: the price point is slightly higher than your typical chinese restaurant but i think that is made up for by the atmosphere and furnishing and reasonable portions. –Service: perhaps this is my low expectation of chinese restaurants, so im not too bothered by this, but compared to other establishments you will find that they are slow to tend your table and often very busy. The server didnt write down our order and we suspect he forgot one item because he had to check if all our dishes had arrived(one hadn’t). Also we ended up paying our bill at the register and grabbing our own to go boxes to pack our leftovers. Personally, as long as service isnt rude, i dont mind this but I think

I love going to authentic Chinese eateries, I feel this makes the cut. I had a bad cold and was looking for a place with excellent and healthy food, noodle house definitely had that. The food was delicious, I got the beef noodle soup, with the wide noodles, it was absolutely delicious, fresh and hot. The noodles were tasty with a perfect«chew» to them. The beef was a joy as was the broth, I added soy sauce and it made it a bit salty, but overall great. I loved the Chinese spice, beef and cilantro/coriander taste. I also ordered a cold dish — eggplant in special sauce. Since I didn’t grow up eating this dish, the flavor was complex for my palate to comprehend, but seemed very healthy and fresh. The green tea was wonderful, I drank an entire pot of it. I like that the service allowed me to take my time and eat slowly. The service was very friendly. Overall, I had a great time and I would recommend eating here for any occasion to anybody.

Great food — we’ve never dined in always done take out and after a long day their food hits the spot. Hot and sour soup, chicken fried rice, kung pao chicken, szechuan fish and vegetable steamed dumplings are amazing. I haven’t had the chance to try their other stuff bc we just do our usual but so so good.

2 stars for the decent taste and service, and pretty nice interior. I ordered steamed pork buns and it was not fully cooked! My kid was hungry and almost ate it. And there’s another noodle dish that came out to be a completely different thing than what I ordered, and it tasted so bad. Well, there’s a reason why trying out new restaurants are risky.

I went there a couple times before the remodel and the staff was good and dumplings delicious. I went there tonight 3÷25÷16 and it was the opposite… my girlfriend and I went. We ordered quickly from what they had. half of the menu they didn’t have and can’t pan fry dumplings. So we ordered some sweet and sour meatballs, she ordered some pork and Napa dumplings and I ordered pork and green onion dumplings… the meatballs were extremely hot… but super hard and dry. Her dumplings were not all that bad but mine never showed up. We told them bout the meatballs and my order. All he said was«ooohhh» then charged us for it all. No manager or anything… won’t be returning. wish the old one was was still up. Ohh I forgot the customers next to us were friendly. They saw we didn’t have anything and gave us their extra vinager and hot sauce.

I love Noodle House. They have a great variety of options, which none have failed me yet. Their spicy beef noodle soup with thin noodles, dumplings, potstickers, green onion pancakes, and bao tzu are my favorite items here. They closed down in September 2015 sadly, but are opening again in 2016. This place just recently re-opened under new ownership and management. Someone please post new photos and reviews!

I really like the dumplings here! I was craving dumplings today and went here but sadly they are under construction so the restaurant is closed. I had to go to another place and the dumplings are not nearly as good as the ones here. Here the wrapper is soft and the inside is flavorful and just delicious. My favorite is the leek and pork but honestly they are all good! I’ve only gotten the dumplings here but I’ve seen the other dishes and it looks amazing. Please open soon so that I can get my dumpling fix!

My family loves beef noodle soup with the wide, thick noodles. Myself, I love the beef tendon noodle soup. This place was essentially our go-to for the taiwanese beef noodle soups we all loved. We drove by 10/24/2015 and it was CLOSED and the inside is under major construction. On the windows there are pictures of much more different menu items, not ones I’d expect from this restaurant. I believe it’s going to be completely different. There were no buns or even any noodle dishses.

3 stars, would of been 4 but service is bad. I mean come on, we are still eating and they gave us the dAmm check, what if we were going to order something else??? I don’t know why, but this happens a lot at asian restaurants and I’m sick of it. Another thing to, if you are going to serve is our first dish, shouldn’t you offer something for our party to drink? Like effin water?! WE did not get our water till we were half way they our meal, and we did not even get a refill or nor did the waiter ask or notice our empty cups of water. I could Totally understand if the place was packed with people but it wasn’t. If I was to rate customer service from a scale of 1 – 10, it would be a 1. But anywho, the beef noodle soup with the fat noodles taste great. Dumplings and meat buns were delicious and very fresh. Would I be coming back, yes. The place is really clean, food is good, and very affordable. but I warn you, customer service is sh! t.

I don’t frequent Asian restaurants too often but I had a guest in town that wanted to try it. The noodles are flavorful and soft. But where the money is, the dumplings. The dumplings, when biting into it, has juices in it! Perhaps this is a novelty to me because I rarely have Asian food but it was quite an experience. I may bring my wife here one day. What’s a bigger shame is, this gem of a place has been in my backyard and I’ve never tried it until now.

One of my friends recommended this place, so we stopped by even though nobody in my group was particularly hungry. Although the parking lot for this shopping was somewhat small, we found a space right in front. Since the restaurant closes between lunch and dinner, it was mostly empty when we arrived in the early afternoon. The kitchen itself was open and/or encased in glass windows, so you could watch your food being made. That would have been an interesting sight, but I was sadly facing the opposite direction. Womp womp. The aforementioned friend talked to the waiters exclusively in Chinese, so I can’t comment on their service other than that they were kind of sort of attentive. This friend ordered the following items for our table: Zhajiangmian(black bean noodles with ground pork) = This dish had pretty good flavor and a decent amount of ground pork. We had this with wide noodles, which made it pretty difficult to eat, so I would recommend the regular noodles. I preferred the flavor of the zhajiangmian to the beef noodle soup. Beef Noodle Soup = We requested that this be made less spicy because we were told that the normal amount of spice was insanely hot(and sometimes inedible)! The modified version was not too spicy, but there were still plenty of chili peppers floating around in the broth. The beef itself was tender and flavorful — easily the best part of the dish. We also had this dish with wide noodles, which made eating this dish more difficult than it needed to be. I would still recommend this place to noodle lovers, but I personally would have enjoyed the food here better if we had skipped the wide noodles.

Although I loved being able to see the handmade noodles being made, the food itself was just okay. My friend raves about this place because he is a fan of the beef noodle soup. As alluded to earlier, there are glass windows up around the kitchen so you can see them prepare your dishes here. For the noodle dishes, you have the choice of thin or thick noodles. I went with him and had the following: BEEFNOODLESOUP(with thick noodles) — be warned that this dish is super spicy! Even if you ask for medium spice, the soup still has a burn your mouth quality to it with subsequent sips. Definitely would not recommend for those who cannot handle the heat. I did, however, appreciate the big chunks of beef that they use that had been tenderized and soaked up the flavor. The thick noodles are significantly thicker than most but they were fresh and sticky with enough flour to cut the spiciness of the soup. BLACKBEANNOODLESOUP aka JAJAMEIN(with thick noodles) — if you are looking for something a little less heavy compared to the beef noodle soup, I would recommend this dish. There are small beef chunks mixed in the slightly black bean sauce with pieces of fresh cilantro to add a little zest and freshness. I have had this with the thick and thin noodle and I think the thin noodle is better for this dish. GREENONIONPANCAKE — a little heavy handed with the oil but otherwise tasty version of the green onion pancake. For those who have not had it, they are like flatbreads with pieces of green onion cooked in. There were enough pieces of the onion to give it that extra added flavor. There is enough to share especially if you are ordering a soup. May be unnecessary unless you are incredibly craving these and super hungry. Located in an unassuming parking lot near IHOP, it is not too hard to find parking. The wait staff has always been pretty good when I have gone, but I was fortunate to have my friend who speaks Chinese do the ordering. Overall, I would recommend coming for the noodles if you are craving them, but do not expect anything amazing.

It seems clean Walked in and got seated quickly. Ordered green onion pancake, siapao, beef noodles. The beef noodles had thick juicy noodles. Good portions for what we paid for. The pork siapao was delicious. Asked for forks, they have us three metal forks and ran out so have us plastic forks. The Arizona green tea there was $ 3. The beef in my noodles looked like liver so I just picked the beef out. The beef noodles were $ 7.99 I believe It wasn’t horrible nor amazing here. It’s basically help yourself kind of service We had to ask for condiments and water. Without asking for cups of waters, we wouldn’t of got water served.

Another(mostly) great meal– 3 meats boiled dumplings, seaweed salad, INCOMPARABLE green onion pancake,. and then there’s spicy beef noodle soup. Their spicy beef noodle soup should have been named Triple Bypass Beef Noodle, way too greasy with thick layers of fat and chili oil. Could not taste the meat or the noodle. Very bad!!! Average Chinese restaurant service, meaning a sourfaced server, help-yourself extra napkins & condiments. OK by me!

It’s been way too long since I’ve been here. I heart the fact that parking is usually not a issue since the parking lot is large & shared with other businesses in the strip center. The thick hand pulled noodles are a must get in the beef noodle soup here but I ordered the boiled mushroom chicken dumplings in addition and they were delicious as well. These are probably the most items ordered by the patrons who were 100% Asian of the clientele this day. Another reason for me to return is it’s nearby home and they accept credit cards.

Scallion Pancakes were perfectly made. Fluffy, lightly salted and nice Scallion flavor. Not like other places that have thick and oily pancakes. Tianjin Buns were amazing as well. Made fresh with balanced flavors throughout the bun and filling. The bun was nice and fluffy with just the right amount of stickiness. Beef noodle and tendon soup pretty decent.

If you like fresh made thick noodles, juicy dumplings and Tianjin stuffed bun, this is the place. Based on food this is a 5 star. Service is expected for an Asian restaurant. That’s why it’s a lower score. I wish Unilocal could separate the service star rating. More Asian restaurants would score better based on food. My favorite is the beef noodle soup with thick noodles. 1 bowl is enough to share for at least 2 if not 3 people.(Factor in: I am carb conscience or not use to eating lots of it) CAUTION: it took me three visits to get the right amount of spice/fire to my soup. If you order medium, it’s still pretty spicy. Like in the other reviews, medium spicy makes your mouth feel like it’s on fire. So hot, you might not enjoy your meal. Order mild and add the hot stuff to your liking. My favorites: Beef noodle soup with thick noodles Chicken with mushroom Dumplings Pork with spring onion Tianjin stuffed bun Beef roll

Nothing special about this place except the window inside the restaurant which you can view employees making the actual dumplings(+1 star for that). Arrived around 6pm on a Thursday night. We walked in, the guy point to a table so we sat. It took him almost 5 minutes to come over to give us a menu. Let’s keep in mind there was also only ONE other table besides us at the time. Come on! A couple other incidents, but I won’t bore you. The server was nice, but nice doesn’t cut it if your service stinks! Beef Rolls($ 5.99): Too much cilantro(not cut up well either), not enough hoisin sauce. The beef roll also wasn’t holding together itself. Messy. Minced Pork Dry Noodle($ 7.99): I enjoyed this dish most out of the 3 we ordered. I wish there was more garlic but if you add a little soy sauce + chili, it really makes the dish. Pork w/Cabbage Dumpling($ 6.99): 10 pieces if you order it boiled, 8 for fried. A little bit more skin on the dumpling than I would like, but the filling was decent. If you need some humor, browse the menu! You would think they would at least spell check… And beware for the Asian parking around the parking lot!
