To classify the nursing care on the med– surg unit as shiity would be too much of a compliment. My daughter just had abd surgery a couple of days ago and I am glad I chose to stay with her. Before you medical types can cluck their tongues and think I don’t know what goes on in a hospital — I am an RN with 37 years of ICU/ER experience. Here’s some examples. 2 ½ hrs requesting a temp check. I went and got a thermometer and did it myself. No one ever offered to get her ice and water. Two hours to get pillows and blankets. Insulin not given as scheduled Zero patient advocacy. PRN meds given more than an hour after request. I could continue the rant but I think point made. Think long and hard before using this facility.
