If you’re a connoisseur of dive bars that only appear intimidating from the outside but are in fact delightful, Aga“s is for you: It’s dark, seedy, cute, weird & fun. If you’re shy or stuck up, stay home!!! The cocktails aren’t cheap & you’ll want to tip the dancers so bring some cash… Not a cheap night out if you do it right which makes it the kind of place you might only go to once in awhile w/friends to have an experience. My boyfriend & I had a blast talking to Aga & her son as well the performers– no real stripping goes on, just g-strings. Loved it!

It is difficult for me to feel comfortable in any strip club, nevertheless a strip bar that is a reflection of Boston’s struggling Dudley Square. The silver lining of this bar are the owners. This has been a family business for over 60 years – through the good times and the bad. Bar is kept by Alice, who may be in her 70’s, and her son, both of whom are kind people. That aside, most Unilocal readers would feel very uncomfortable here. It is a dark, seedy, bar with bikini dancers and neon lights – it is straight out of a Tarantino movie or some sort of film noir. It really isn’t a «dive bar» in the charming sense of the term. This isn’t the kind place, like the Silhouette in Allston, that is ironically funny to patronize. It is a bar that is successfully adapting to survive in a neighborhood that was hit harder by urban decay than any other district in the city. I was at Aga’s right after it opened for the evening. I am fascinated to see what it looks like around midnight, but don’t plan on finding out. Case in point, I am blown away by the perseverance and hard work of this family business, but simultaneously would not recommend this bar to a typical Unilocal reader. I recommend this bar to a reader who is exceptionally street smart and wants to see a type of «dive bar» that rarely exist in metro Boston and that serves as an drinking establishment in a neighborhood where none other exists.

I’m sad/proud to say my friends and I spent about two hours here last night. It was a friend’s birthday, and we decided to both take him out and mess with him. This seemed like a perfect solution. There was no one else there besides us when we got there, which is probably for the best. I think the dancers were taken aback to see so many people there, but it worked out for them since they made baskets of dollars.(They actually have little plastic bins they use to collect their dollar bills!) I’d probably say stay away from the food… one of my friends ordered some chicken fingers and they were burnt, which resulted in them being free. Score! Also, if anyone’s interested to know: no, they do not do any sort of one on one dance. Much to the birthday boy’s relief.

AHAHAHHAHAHAHA YES I DIDACTUALLYGOTOTHISPLACE. on a dare. Tonight in fact. It’s a long bar with an older russian woman wearing a full jacket with hat and gloves. Two bikini strippers were in the club. One skinny asian girl and one booty-tastic black girl. There are folding chairs around the 5 foot stage. On a Friday night during prime time(11pm) there were 3 people in there. My friend refused to come in with me. I left after 15 minutes. A shot of whiskey was 10 dollars but very necessary. Good bar to go to for a laugh. Wish I cold have convinced more people to come with me.
