I used to come here with my Dad and Brother, THEBESTJERKY I’ve ever had in my life. Just got a shipment of jerky in the mail from here… I’ll be ordering more!

The store is very interesting — fun antiques. Lots of canned items. You should stop and look. The homemade bread is very good. But, having lived in KC for 25+ years I can’t recommend the meat. I’d have to give the plate of brisket a 1 and the ribs a 2. The coleslaw is good. The brisket sandwich meat is sliced thinner than a side of brisket, it’s a little better — I’d give it a 2. The bread is wonderful, I’d give it a 4.5.

Who ever didn’t give this place 5stars must be out of their minds. They smoke all of their own meats and bake their bread fresh every day! I look forward to stopping by Burls more than I do hitting the lake!

My dad moved down that way from Wisconsin. Every time we go down to visit, we go to Burls. The jerky is the best I’ve ever had. I’ve had sandwiches there as well and they are super good. I have my dad mail me there jerky all the time. I love Burls!!!

If you are going to put a star rating on a smoke house then this is a 5 Star for sure! I’m not sure how you could get any better. It is well worth the drive if you are ever close to the area. Burl’s is an old country store/smoke house/mini restaurant all in one… It may honestly have the best smoked meat I have ever eaten. I had enough to feed a small army… a combination of beef sticks, beef jerky, smoked turkey, smoked habanero cheese, and smoked Swiss cheese! All delicious!!! I also ordered a BBQ Beef Brisket sandwich with smoked cheddar on top. It literally melted in my mouth… so damn tender and good! Best ever! Also enormous cinnamon rolls(Burls Mothers family recipe)…delicious! Last but not least… Burl’s has canned/jarred vegetables, chow chow, pickled eggs, and many varieties of homemade breads! This place is a must!

Great smoked meats, sandwiches, apple bread, sourdough bread, and lots of Southern jams, jellies, and other cool and funny products. Take some time to look around. It’s full of interesting stuff – including Native American artifacts. Moonshine jelly anyone?

burl’s is a family tradition for us. i was born in hot springs, and stopping at burl’s is a must when we are in the state. we usually save a day to go crystal farming and then stop by burl’s to buy soda in glass bottles and get some snacks for the drive. the beef jerky, though. guys. come on. i literally have bought pounds of it before and packed it up and saved it at home in an air-tight container. it’s the best beef jerky i have ever had because it’s seasoned on the outside and isn’t that weird texture that comes from gas station beef jerky. there are usually some kitties running around. five stars for the meats and an extra five stars for cat snuggles.

Had a sandwich for lunch here today… was alright — enjoyed it much more with Burl’s BBQ sauce though!

This is like a free museum where you can buy awesome food. I’ve only had the sandwiches but they also have bbq. They even have their own jerky! The turkey and smoked cheddar on fresh, like cooked there ‘fresh’, bread can’t be beat. There is seating inside where you can see the creek. During the warmer months, you can see the bees making their honey in the indoor beehive. Don’t miss the gem. It’s worth the drive. Even just for a plain old sandwich.

I first stopped here about 1980 via a road trip through the area. Have been getting their Country Sausage ever since via shipments. I have also had different bacon and ham items. Everything…‘the best of’ here. Thanks folks. Well done.

So much great food and stuff to look at! Have to spend some time here to really appreciate all they have to offer! Wine is great — Amish goods are great — Deli/Smokehouse meats are incredible… jams, jellies, pickled EVERYTHING… take some sauces and seasonings home and impress everyone you know! The ribs were really good… There are many collections inside and outside to look at — stop by for a minute and grab a snack, or stop by for a few hours and have a picnic and check out all the great old stuff!
