Mark P. Hit it on the nail. There is nothing«pulled» about the pulled pork sandwich. I watched them«chop» 3 pulled pork sandwiches, that included mine. The pork was dry and had hard pieces all in it. The Mac cheese looked just like Mark P. described. The coleslaw had no flavor at all. The pickles appeared old, starting to turn colors. I’ve been here several times. While waiting, I listen to the female employee talk about a male employee who quit 2 months ago. Did not speak well of him and said he was wearing an ankle bracelet(security bracelet). Not impressed at all with this place and will NOT be going back. Also, I almost blew out my tire in a giant pothole that is littered throughout their parking lot. I’m going to drive further to Bakers Ribs and give them a try.

The food here is okay, not what I expected from Texas, but the nice service and facility compensate it pretty well.

Ok here goes. I have eaten here a few times tonite was no different. Turkey was ok. sausage was ok ribs were overcooked. Green beans way to salty. Brisket i didnt have as it looked dry to me. now with that said 14.99 for a pound of pork is absurd. I had the 3 meat 2 sides and had a small drink total was just a few cents under 20 dollars. Portions too small fir a place eho advertises«we dont skimp on our meat«back home in NC i can get a family meal(feeds four and we have left overs) for 19.95. Includes 2 lbs pork bbq. 2 large container of sides 4 rolls and a gal of iced tea. Good bbq too. So i dont care what anyone says no way should it cost that much for one person in texas. Im sorry folks Texas Best Smokehouse is still my fav go to in texas

I dont see a nursing home next door! So why are they chopping the meat into shredded beef. The potato salad. This was just a purée of mush. The Mac and cheese was noodles and can cheese. The meat had a decent taste as well as the bbq sauce. Please consider not shaving the meat and I have never seen potato salad like that.

Some of the best brisket and pulled pork I have had in Texas. Friendly family oriented restaurant.

We were in Texas for a little family reunion here from Nevada and we wanted some good Texas barbecue before we left. The family highly recommended Soulman’s BBQ on our way back to Dallas. We stopped at this location on their orders and got the 3 meat platters with hot links brisket and ribs with a baked potato and all the fixins. No disappointment here! AMAZINGBBQ and really friendly staff. This place has all the sides and desserts you would want with your BBQ! We scarfed it down and enjoyed everything. The brisket was tender and full of flavor, the ribs fall off the bone but have a crispy exterior, and the hot links were hot and spicy everything we expected from Texas BBQ!!! The owner came to ask us about the meal and told us some history of Soulman’s! If you want good BBQ come here and dig in!

Went there today and bought a large family meal that cost about $ 50. When I asked for a container for pickles and onions, I was told to get about a 2 ounce container and get them from the bar. I asked for a larger container since it was a big meal and was rudely told that policy was to use the small ones. The woman running the register told me to call corporate if I had a problem with it. Even the manager confirmed they weren’t allowed to give out a larger container by policy. The woman finally gave me one 8 ounce container and told me she was being nice to do that. I have learned how to fix a problem with stupid policies and that is to quit going there.

Not bad, not great. As Unilocalers tend to say«It’s nothing to write home about.» I got the brisket chopped lean, sliced brisket, ribs, toast, and mac n cheese. The sauce is pretty good, but a little on the sweet side. The brisket is dry, but it tastes alright. The ribs were pretty solid, the meat fell off the bones and it was tender and juicy.

As I sit here eating my cold watery mac and cheese I find myself wondering why I just spent $ 30 on this disgusting meal. The meat on my sandwich is dry and tasteless. I have to drown it in BBQ sauce just so I can swallow it. The veggies on the line appear to be left over from lunch. I had hoped this location would be better than the one by our house… I was wrong. It sucks just as badly as the Broadway location. I remember in the 90’s when Soulmans was the best BBQ around. :(

Their«brisket» is sliced paper-thin. Their sauce is way too thick and too sweet. Admittedly, I haven’t tried their other meats, but to me, their only saving grace are their sides. Very good mac n cheese and I love the cream gravy for the mashed potatoes. However, I don’t anticipate going back.

There was a mouse cruising the serving line while they were packaging up my food. This mouse took no care to hide. Which tells me he’s comfortable… I’m sure there is a large family of them lurking. Although the food was good(and I’m sure not contaminated), I won’t return because there is a clear rodent problem. That mouse shoulda ran off when I went to tap his tail. Instead he looked back at me.

We called ahead and picked it up tool it back to the hotel. Service was amazing just for that experience. The buttermilk pie is A-mazing. The barbecue pork was fantastic. Coming from Kentucky we thought we liked barbecue, but this is the next level.

I recently found myself in Texas to see a country band my girlfriend and I like. As a competitive bodybuilder less than 4 weeks out from a show, I get one good meal a week to eat carbs and as much as I want. After extensive research, I decided to drive the hour from Denton to Royse City to go to Soulman’s for their all you can eat breakfast. Best decision ever. The manager, Chris, attended to anything I needed. The french toast and homemade pancakes were delicious. When they ran out of both and I asked Chris if they had more, he said they were finishing up a new batch and he said he would just come tell me when they were done. Within seconds of them coming off the grill he was yelling my name telling me more was up. The eggs were delicious as well, along with the hashbrowns and breakfast potatoes. As an added surprise near the end of my meal, a fresh batch of cinnamon rolls came out of the oven. Amazing. I should not have to say this, but as you might be able to guess, the bacon and sausage with the breakfast was perfectly done and some of the best I have ever had. It was unbelievable. I just wish I had more than one meal a week there because I would have loved to have gone back for some brisket in the afternoon. You just walk in and can tell that they have been smoking meat there for years and it is just all perfectly done and smells amazing. I highly highly recommend Soulman’s in Royse City and cannot say enough good things about their manager Chris. Go there, you won’t regret it.

I have tried other Soulman’s but this store has killer ribs, brisket, pulled pork! I typically would shy away from a parking lot that advertises free overnight parking for truckers, but it really works here! Great mix of people, but the meats and most sides are great! Staff is always friendly and down home Texas congeniality! I’m going to try breakfast(I hear it’d to die for) maybe today? I’ll add to review then, ’til then… Eat and live on!

Love Soulman’s BBQ in Royse City. They have an all you can eat breakfast in the mornings that is crazy good. Made to order pancakes, a big vat of bacon and other breakfast meats, it’s all you could ask for. They aren’t stingy with their meat(sometimes. some servers are less stingy than others) and you can serve yourself your own sides as long as you’re eating there. Keep in mind that all soulman’s are not created equal. there are quite a few soulman restaurants around the dallas area and some of them aren’t worth going to(Looking at you Rockwall) but this one is fantastic.

Have to have some BBQ in Texas. First time and wasn’t sure how it really worked. We got the 3 meat platter to share. We chose ribs, chicken and pork. I didn’t know we were suppose to get our own sides. We sat down and we didn’t know we were suppose to get our own BBQ sauce. All the meats were tender and not dry. The BBQ sauce was more watery than we liked. Sides were ok. The fries I thought were too salty though. The staff was friendly and nice. Seems lots of locals go there.
