Mimi’s at the Lake

We waited over an hour for food, only to be served chicken BLTs with no bacon, burnt burgers, soggy buns, and only ½ of our table got what they actually ordered. We will not be returning, and recommend that no one else wastes their time and money here.

Place is nice on the inside. Has a fireplace and looks like it’s fancy. Truth is… it’s across from the Dollar Store and no matter the atmosphere inside its just a place for the lake’s finest to get drunk for more money… Its a nice concept but the location hurts. Food was horrendous. Took at least 30 minutes for an order of nachos that had pulled pork dry with shredded cheese that was unmelted, a buffalo chicken sandwich that was so dry I had to take a drink every bite to get it down, and a cheeseburger kids meal that my garbage disposal 6 yr old son wouldn’t even finish. Came with kettle
Chips from the bag and fruit from a fruit dish you would buy from community or Walmart. If you’re coming by boat just stick to Taco Bell. I don’t see this place lasting, but i wish them the best!

Stopped in for lunch the buffet looked great but opted for a burger instead and it was awesome I recommend trying their coleslaw it was fantastic as well

I really vacillated between 2 and 3 stars. I have been here twice in the last week. The first time I had a New York strip steak that was perfectly cooked. I like medium and that seems to be difficult for grill cooks to achieve. The steak was excellent! The Smokehouse Potato Salad was just ok and the side salad was huge but predominantly spring mix with cucumber slices (a couple looked like they were just starting to turn) and straight out of a Kraft or Wishbone bottle Bleu Cheese salad dressing. Ick!
Since the steak was soooo good I decided to give them another try thinking I would steer clear of the side salad and potato salad. This time I ordered a Cheeseburger which they assured me would be cooked medium. It wasn’t! It was medium well at best. I ordered a baked potato that was not cooked through. It was pretty hard. I was with others so I didn’t want to make a fuss but if I had been alone I would have sent the entire dinner back. At the end of the meal I learned that my dinner companions had not liked their food either. The service was good but that can’t make up for carelessly prepared food.

We were hopeful they would finally get a good place to eat around Indian Lake that wasn’t pizza but this place really, well, sucked and we were really disappointed. Most of the draw is the bar for people coming in off the lake. The tables/​chairs/​décor was pretty lackluster. The food was served with good portion sizes but I think I would have rather just swung through McDonald’s for a Happy Meal. The menu is unoriginal, like every other place. The smoked pork tasted off, like they were burning trash in the smoker or something. Not good. Don’t waste your time. There’s a Taco Bell right across the street.

Came by boat for dinner and we both ordered the pork chop special. A nice mixed green salad, grilled smoked pork chop and a baked potato (my wife got a sweet potato as her side) for only $ 8.99. The food was great and the service was exceptional! We loved that some of our favorite wines were available by the glass too. We will be stopping back often — looking forward to dining by the fireplace this winter!

If i could use only one word to describe this place, it would be HORRIBLE!!! Probably the worst place at the lake. My wife and myself decided to give this new restaurant a try. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich and coleslaw, it also came with chips. My wife got the special of the evening the NY strip. First off she got her salad and the lettuce was warm and wilted but not so bad she couldn’t eat. She ordered steak medium rare and got a medium well steak. The pulled pork (which i was really looking forward to) was tough as shoe leather and dry as the desert (i will say the caribbean jerk sauce was very good though, but you couldn’t put enough of it on to make the pork any better. I only ate 2 bites because I could hardly chew it! Service was very slow. It was a little busy, but there was no reason we should of had to wait 38 minutes for our food. Needless to say we won’t be going back. I agree with the other review on here (the place won’t last three months.) If you want a good meal go across the street and get some taco bell!!!

Great service and great food! A little noisy when there is a crowd. Tall tables or regular. Bucket of 5 beers are only $ 10! Pulled pork nachos are delicious!

Good food reasonable prices but the service must improve or this place will never make it. Wait staff does know what is going on or what to do.

Just had lunch at Mimi’s, we had the loaded nachos and the club sandwich, both were excellent! We were served within 10 minutes of ordering, our waitress was great, she kept checking on us! Would recommend for lunch, but they need to expand the menu for dinner.

Went here tonight and should have checked the menu first. They seriously have nothing but want you to pay a fortune for it. Our food was cold, the baked beans were mush, and they ran out of sweet tea so the waitress sat down a glass of unsweet tea and Splenda and said I could make my own. I think the only reason people go here is to drink, and there were plenty of drunks. It was so loud inside from everyone yelling that I couldn’t hear my wife speaking next to me. Do yourself a favor and NEVER eat here!

Waitress was apologizing for the bartender and the kitchen help. My beer was not cold. An order of bread and dipping oil $ 7.50. I ordered a salad it was ok fast food type for fine dinning price.
Not impressed will not be returning.

Our order was taken at 6:31 pm. It is now 7:08 pm and still no food. It’s not like it was a complicated. I ordered the club sandwich with chips (they don’t have fries) Wife ordered a chicken wrap with chips. The place is about 25% full on a Thursday evening. Server (Tina) is trying her best but this place needs some serious help in the kitchen. The server is almost in tears because she’s had 2 tables leave already and wife overheard her say that the owner makes the servers pay if people leave.
Update: 7:20 we finally get our food. Club sandwich which said on menu comes with ham, turkey, bacon, lettuce, tomato and mayo and choice of cheese came on the hardest toasted bread I’ve ever had. No lettuce, no tomato, no cheese. Chips were kettle chips from a bag, hard, little flavor. Wife had the asian chicken wrap and according to her was actually good. Here’s the kicker though, our server actually did get fired while we were there because a another table next to us walked out because the kitchen couldn’t get out the food.
I asked to talk to the owner from our now back up server. I waited 15 more minutes she never came out. We will never go back.
Doubt this place will last longer than 3 months.
