Good food and friendly staff even after we showed up late for our reservation and kept them after closing. Very professional and it is much appreciated.

About one month ago we stopped in on a Saturday night very early without reservation. Never had a problem seating before. They had a very loud party seated on the lower area. They just moved 2 people from a small table because they complained the large party was making noise. We watched as this happened waiting to be taken care of. The top seating area was ¹⁄₃ full. We were told the only seat we could have was the one abandoned be the last people next to the loud party. We frequent this restaurant once or twice a month. Not a way to treat people we left and will never go back. Service is gone to hell.

Good quality Italian food. Reasonable prices. Everyone is so nice and helpful.
Their salad dressing is outstanding and they sell it there so you can enjoy it at home! We did not have a reservation on a Saturday night and yet they were able to seat us in about 20 minutes. If you enjoy desserts, save room. Outstanding!

Consistently the best time every time we are there. We are always a party of 7 and enjoy ourselves!!! The stuffed artichokes for appetizer were heavenly. Each leaf was stuffed and overflowing with goodness. My husband compared them to his late grandmothers… And that’s an amazing compliment. The crispy veal entrée was divine. 5 of the 7 had that. The short rib ravioli with vodka sauce and olives was so tender that it melted in your mouth. Dessert was the cherry on top! The toasted almond cake… To die for. As well as the tiramisu. Oh and the pizelles with cannoli cream-​heaven! There is a lot to say about a restaurant that takes the time and effort to creat amazing dishes with that homemade flair! Customers for life!

Highly reccomend. The food is delicious and unique. Amazing specials menu. I had homemade black linguini with crab meat my gf had stuffed filet mignon. This was the second time we were here and we will be back there again.

My family goes out for my grandpa’s birthday every year, and it’s a disaster every year except this one. Every person in our party of 13 was happy with both the food and the service, which NEVER happens. We were 10 minutes early, and our table was ready waiting for us. Thank you so much, Volares! Also, it’s BYOB and right next to a liquor store. Can’t go wrong with that.

This place is amazing. Better than any city restaurant!!! Food is always fresh and made to order. Staff is friendly and attentive. Make sure you ask for the hot blond Cid!!!

After my second time ordering from them while in town on business, and having ordered a variety of menu items, I must say I’m sold. I’d done delivery on both occasions and the food always arrived hot and in a very quick amount of time. Their cold antipasto is excellent, and is loaded up with delicious meats, vegetables and cheeses. Tonight I had an incredible eggplant parm sandwich and the previous time I remember loving a penne entrée consisting of eggplant, cheese and marinara sauce. The prices are definitely reasonable and I surely will order from Volares again my next time in town.

place is a BYOB so that’s nice food is good. portions are large prices are Fair. we got a eggplant APP, chicken dish, pasta dish, both came with small salad and a piece of cake. bill was $ 50

Good homey Italian food. Special prix fix menu on Sunday. Good service and BYOB. Only minor issue is the difficulty in finding parking.

This restaurant is awful! First we waited almost 25 minutes before they even took our order. We waited almost an hour for the appetizer to even come. When we asked the waitress, who I’m pretty sure was the owner, where our food was because it had been almost an hour, she snapped at us and said «It hasn’t been an hour.» She stormed off. We ended up canceling our order and leaving because we had tickets for a movie. They did not charge us for the appetizer. We would have been fine with the wait if they had nicely explained what the problem was, but their tone was abrasive and there was no apology at all. We have been to this restaurant quite a few times over the years and never experienced this. Guess an off night for them, but we will not be going back.

I ordered food for delivery knowing that the food was going to be good from the first time when I ordered the spaghetti. Tonight I ordered the Eggplant Parmesan with French fries. The delivery driver wasn’t very pleasant and the food was only slightly warm. I was not happy so I called the restaurant and talked to the owner expressing my concern. She was very understanding and sent the delivery girl back with a full refund immediately! I wasn’t expecting that at all — just wanted the business to know how their front line employees were representing the company I heated my food up and it tasted delicious as expected.

Have ordered delivery and pick-​up several times. Food is always fresh, hot, and delicious. Ive had the chicken parm which had a beautiful white blanket of fresh mozzarella on top. Also had the francese which was great. Delivery is always on time, with fresh soft bread. Being a native New Yorker, I am very picky about my Italian food, and I keep coming back to this place for more! Next time will bring the folks!

We’ve never explored Rutherford before and while Unilocaling for an Italian BYO nearby (our favorite was closed that day) we decided to give Volares a try. It’s a cute setup inside. They have 4 course dinner specials for a really good price which is cash only. We opted out of the special but instead chose an appetizer and entrée each.
The complimentary warm bread was really good paired with a spiced olive oil. I actually really enjoyed my pasta fagioli to start. My bf thought his crab cake appetizer was just ok but I think it was because he wasn’t expecting some of the spices/​flavors in it. For my entrée, I ordered the classic linguine with clams and it definitely satisfied my cravings. The portion was generous as was the servings of clams (a mix of little neck and top neck) in a garlicky delicious sauce. My bf had the tornnerelli, linguine in a white vodka sauce. The shrimp that came with the pasta was fresh and again they were generous with the portions.
Service was also friendly. We’re definitely keeping this place in our weekend rotation and we’ll be back to try other items on the menu. Check in for 10% off the check!

Went Sunday night for their price fix menu. 6 adults 2 children, the food was great, the service was great, friendly and accommodating. We had an infant in a high chair.
The atmosphere is real nice, all the tables set, the place is clean.
The price fix deal was excellent! I will be back and I recommend it.

Robert and Denise were lovely hosts. Food was very good. Great value. Great ambience. With Rutherford being dry you must BYOB. There is a small store work a great wine selection three doors up the street. Will go back for sure on next trip.

They’re not stingy… I highly recommend this place.

I’ve been here only 3 or 4 times, but I’ve never been disappointed. Meats and fish are cooked properly with lots of flavor. Pastas may be too firm for some, but you can always tell them not too al dente. Salads are crispy and very fresh. There are a good variety of desserts and cafes. And it’s a BYOB with a liquor store 2 doors away.
Parking can be tricky, but there is a garage 1 block away. Denise and her chef son are the owners and are very welcoming and helpful. Sid is a lovely waiter and really amusing.
They have dinner specials for $ 15 cash which is unbeatable and with lots of choices. I’m also a big fan of their bruschetta. They have a «supped-​up» olive oil on the table that is delicious and sold by the bottle. Come and enjoy some real good Italian eats here when you’re looking for someplace new.
