Speed –1 star Hours of operation — 1 star Quality –3 star Atmosphere — 2 star Salad Dressing — 6 star Bartenders — 5 star Servers — 4 star I can tolerate a lot… I tolerate this rancid little toilet bowl because their salad dressing is magic and perfect. But tonight a complete moron cut up my salad with a dull machete or possibly a broomstick. There was no love… I don’t think I will go back…

Pretty middle of the road food. I wasn’t disappointed but I wouldn’t go back. Had chicken Marsala and garlic pork chop with horse radish sauce. Marsala didn’t have very strong flavoring, pork chop was a very nice cut and ample size but only had a very light drizzle of sauce. I got more sauce and that helped. I am sure there has to be better Italian restaurants in the area. I wanted to give 2.5 stars but couldn’t figure it out so ended up with 3.

Tuesday night is pizza night at The Palms, large three topping pizza, cheesy garlic bread, italian bread and antipasto salad for $ 28.00. We arrived early and were immediately seated and our order taken. The salad and garlic bread were very good as was the pizza.

Went there recently with friends from out of town. Thanfully we had alot of catching up to do because the service was no where to be found. It was a Saturday night and the place was definitely busy, but it seemed there were plenty of waitstaff on hand, just none at our table. Finally someone did notice us sitting there and took our orders. The rest of the meal was a little slow coming out as well, but the food was great. Two of us ordered classic italian dishes — manicotti and lasagna. The sauce was delicious on both and the meatballs were very good. The other folks ordered steak, fish and pork chops and all had great things to say about their meal. I think our service might have just been a bad night, so we are hoping to try it again someday.

First, the positives: They pour a decent cocktail. They have been open since 1933. They make a good meatball. The staff is patron-friendly. The prices are wallet-friendly. Now, the semi-negatives: The place needs a makeover. They do not have any port. They do not carry lemoncello. The winelist is pretty weak. The food is rather pedestrian. The menu has probably not changed since 1933. An Italian restaurant that has no port and no lemoncello? Seriously? Meh. Very nice people own and operate it so that goes a long, long way. Has a large banquet room upstairs good for groups, class reunions, etc.

The Palms has all kinds of yummy sounding Italian food on its menu, but I have only had the pizza, and I can’t imagine having anything else. When it comes to your table, you might be a little skeptical. It doesn’t look like it’s going to taste good – it looks like a sub-par frozen pie – but the minute you take a bite, your taste buds will be rewarded. The cheese is smooth, tangy, slightly salty and delicious. The sauce is sweet and tasty, and the crust is perfect – not too thick, not too thin. Be sure to get an antipasto salad to go along with your dinner. It’s a perfect combination.
